Christmas Present Prizes: Breaking Down The Workshop Bell & Sponsored Church

Hey Howdy Hey My Elfish Tappers!

Well….unless you’ve been caught in a major snowstorm you know that Christmas has arrived in Springfield! A light snow is falling & Santa has arrived in town!   By now we’re all busy sending those elves and residents to the workshop to make presents!

With this event EA is repeating a similar prize structure to what they did for Halloween, only more prizes, and releasing the event (and prizes) in stages.  For the first phase, which lasts until Christmas Eve (12/24), you can win 8 prizes by collecting Presents.  In this post we’re going to cover the 3rd and 4th prizes awarded.  At 2300 presents you’ll be awarded the 3rd prize, Toy Workshop Bell:

And at 3500 presents you’ll be awarded the 4th prize, the Sponsored Church.

Let’s take a closer look at the details behind the Workshop Bell and over done Jebus Church!

WARNING Mild Dialogue Spoilers Ahead

First, we’ll start with the Workshop Bell…since that is the next prize to win.

Once you’ve collected 2300 Presents the Workshop Bell will automatically be awarded to you and you’ll see this popup:

2014-12-04 01.08.15

Much like Friendship Prizes, if you’re visiting a neighbor when you hit the 2300 Presents mark this message will still popup and the bell will be waiting for you in your inventory once you get back to your Springfield.

The Toy Workshop Bell will be placed in your inventory, so you’ll have to go into your inventory to retrieve it.  Just tap on the “use” icon to place it in your Springfield.

After you’ve placed it (in some cases before you’ve placed it) some dialogue will appear & a short task for Homer will popup.  Here’s the full rundown:

A Punch Below the Bell

Homer: Oh great, another bell.  Whoever is in charge of this universe just loves bells.
Lisa: This looks like the kind of bell you ring when the work day is over.
Homer: I love this bell.
Lisa: Or, the bell you ring to make people work even harder.
Homer: I hate this bell!
Place the Workshop Bell
Make Homer Attempt Bell Sabotage- 4hrs, Earns $175, 45xp
Lisa: I can’t hep but notice the bell’s still ringing.
Homer: I was this close to blowing it up with leftover dynamite from the Fourth of July…But then I realized the elves might stop making presents.
Lisa: And that would be bad because…?
Homer: I’d have to start buying them instead!

Completed Task Earns 100 Presents and 10xp

You’ll also see this popup during the questline:

2014-12-04 01.11.33

So the cool thing about this bell is…once the Elves are done with their 4hr task you can just tap on the bell and auto collect the presents from ALL the Elves.  At that point the Elves will go right back to work!  (no need to tap each one!)

So now let’s look at the Sponsored Church, the 4th prize..

Once you’ve collected 3500 Presents the Sponsored Church will automatically be awarded to you and you’ll see this popup:

2014-12-04 01.09.12

Again…if you’re visiting another Sprinfield when you earn this it will be waiting for you in Springfield when you return.

Now, here’s something different about the Sponsored Church.  This is a facade (skin) for the Springfield Church.  So, IF you have the Springfield Church in your town already, the facade will automatically be applied to the church.  So no need to go into your inventory and pull it out…again as long as the church is in your town.

If you have not yet unlocked the church, the Sponsored Church skin will go into your inventory and be waiting for you to use until you unlock the Church.

There is some dialogue and a small quest associated with the Sponsored Church.  Here are the details:

This God Brought to You By…

Homer: Oh look, Mr. Burns has decided to start sponsoring the church again!  Really restores your faith in God to know that major American corporations are backing Him.
Lisa: I like to think that God is above the petty workings of American capitalism.
Homer: Pfft.  Just ask any billionaire who he thinks really matters more, God or him.  That billionaire will set you straight.
Reach Level 14 and Build First Church of Springfield
Make First Church of Springfield use the “Sponsored Church” Facade
Make Homer Worship Billionaires-
8hrs, Earns $275, 45xp

Completed Task Earns 100 Presents and 10xp

So basically, the Sponsored Church is just a festive decoration for your Springfield Church featuring a giant Jebus.

Here are the quick details for the Sponsored Church and Workshop Bell:
-Bell auto collects presents from the Elves when their task is up
-Bell is animated
-Sponsored Church is a facade for your First Church of Springfield
-If you have the First Church of Springfield, the Sponsored Church will automatically go on your church.  So you won’t find it in your inventory…instead it will be on your church.

So that about covers all the details on these present prizes!

What do YOU think of the Workshop Bell & Sponsored Church?  What do you think about the dialogue around them?  Thoughts on the way the Event is set up this time around? Sound off in the comments below, you know we LOVE hearing from you!

  1. On the quest it says “reach level 14 and build church – done”…but i havent built the church?? And i cant find it in the store.. (lvl 15 btw)

    • So you do not have the church or Rev Lovejoy?

What tasks have you completed for level 14? Level 13? If you are not sure, check our walkthrough section in our menu.

  2. The sponsored church quest is a bit messed up..
It gave me the facade and the quest but the first part (Get to level 14 and build the church) says done even though I got the facade at level 11 and still can’t build the church! Doesn’t bother me but it’s a bit of a tease having a skin for a building I can’t build yet!

  3. I really like the bell. I even try to ring it on neighbours town aswell (yes I’m that sad). I got the festive light plunger and it’s BRILLIANT!!!! I wanted something like this since last Christmas.

  4. Anything is better then “spinning the wheel” (which gets lampooned as a 2014 Xmas Task / Quest Prize – I guess sometimes EA does pay attention to ‘game play comments’ (lol) 🙂

  5. Hi guys , i dont know Why but my springfield just started from The very beggining , i was in 43 level

  6. I am really enjoying the bell, it’s not only functional but also fits decoratively. Well the sponsored church, I like the humor, it’s like the “cool Jesus” from Dogma 😉

  7. Thanks for that info because I have been tapping all the presents

  8. Even though you haven’t covered it yet, I just got the Festive Light Plunger and it’s great. What a time saver! I like all the stuff we’re getting this event.

  9. I like ringing the bell, although I usually have to end up tapping several elves who are in the way lol!

  10. The Church is cute but the bell is a neat idea. I need to move mine though, I have it near the workshop. Soooo when the elves come out they hover over it and I end up tapping them instead. Defeats the purpose :p
