Where Did THAT Come From – First Ever Christmas Tree

Hey there holiday tappers! Howzit? So TSTO is officially in White Christmas mode and the snow is a’falling. I don’t know about you but I love my town covered in snow. As a Southern California resident, I like the snow I can oooh and aaah over without being cold or shoveling it. Of course with a brand new event comes brand new stuff to chat about. My favorite part is of course re-watching Simpsons episodes and then sharing with you just where THAT comes from. For this edition, let’s take a look at the First Ever Christmas Tree.

First Christmas Tree

Once you acquire 8000 presents in the game (the sixth Part 1 prize), the First Ever Christmas Tree is added to your town. This new item comes from “Simpsons Christmas Stories” (S17:E9). After a horrific model train crash at Reverend Lovejoy’s and an unfortunate feinting by Flanders after a papercut, Homer is left to give the sermon at the First Church of Springfield. Homer decides to tell the story of the first Christmas.

Simpsons First Christmas

Of course this is the story of the birth of Baby Jeebus. It’s actually pretty funny and not too sacrilegious considering its done Simpsons style. I’d actually suggest you watch it if you get the chance. (Disclaimer: I could just be a believer who doesn’t mind a joke or two so please don’t be mad if you disagree.) The new Christmas Tree comes straight from this story ironically. Basically, the regular-ish “babe in a manger” tale is followed by King Herod and his soldiers coming to kill the new King of the Jews. King Herod’s soldiers chase after Joseph, Mary and the baby and Homer foils them by putting Jesus’ halo on a duck and rolling a fir down a hill towards them. The combined soldiers, tree and duck snowball together, make a tree and voila… our new decoration. What a beautiful Hanukkah bush. Mary (played by Marge) says they should call it a Christmas Tree.

First Ever Christmas Tree

Definitely makes this strange new item make a little more sense in this Christmas Event. What do y’all think of it? I’m gonna figure out a swell place for it in my town and just be happy it was a prize and not premium. As a Simpsons nerd, I think “Happy Birthday Jeebus” every time I see it so that in itself is worth the addition to Wookieetown.

Well my friends, have a classy Christmas (or whatever you celebrate). TTFN… Wookiee out!

  1. I was supposed to get this prize, but somehow it’s stopped!

  2. At least EA offers up a clever Quest Item (vs Rewarding a Skin on Building that costs 180 Donuts) , this was another Classic Simpsons Episode (thanks for the article, it was fun to read) 🙂

  3. Quite sad as a glitch means this and the last friend item have not showed up in my itinerary….. Has anyone else had the same problem? Any advice pls?

  4. I love the tree! Although it has nothing to do with clash of the clones I think it looks good near some left over nerds at homers castle…yeah it does 😉 I kinda forgot about that episode your writing made me remember half of it so I guess I have something to watch. I hope all of you have the best of days whatever celebrations december holds for you guys. Thanks for a whole year of fun and helpful stuff about this silly, cool and addictive game.

  5. It would be cool if Wigum, Burns, etc. had tasks to hang on there. But it is still awsome without it 🙂

  6. I’m so glad this is an attainable item playing freemium!

I interned on this episode. Remember when Wiggum said to Lou it was ok to try & kill the babies because it wasn’t like anyone was going to write this down… then they whip pan over to a guy with a scroll saying “what a boffo opening to my book!” & you see it says gospel according to Matthew. Well, originally it said gospel according to Mark. But I pointed out that the nativity is only in Matthew & Luke (Mark starts when Jesus is 30 something) & they changed it.

So anytime people at my church say I’m going to hell for working in Hollywood I point out that I single handedly made the Simpsons more Biblically accurate & they shut up about it for 2 seconds. I needed this tree in my game as a badge of honor doggone it!! Thank you EA & Fox!

  7. I love this tree, it’s so funny. I put it by my case from COC & it looks great there.

  8. I love it… just another item showcasing the underlying weirdness of the show, and the fact that The Simpsons is not afraid to “go there”
