Christmas Present Prizes: Breaking Down Bonestorm Santa

Hey Howdy Hey My Elfish Tappers!

Well….unless you’ve been caught in a major snowstorm you know that Christmas has arrived in Springfield! A light snow is falling & Santa has arrived in town!   By now we’re all busy sending those elves and residents to the workshop to make presents!

With this event EA is repeating a similar prize structure to what they did for Halloween, only more prizes, and releasing the event (and prizes) in stages.  For the first phase, which lasts until Christmas Eve (12/24), you can win 8 prizes by collecting Presents.  The seventh prize awarded at 10,800 Presents is  Bonestorm Santa.

WARNING Mild Dialogue Spoilers Ahead

Once you’ve collected 10,800 Presents Bonestorm Santa will automatically be awarded to you and you’ll see this popup:

2014-12-04 01.10.36

Much like Friendship Prizes, if you’re visiting a neighbor when you hit the 10,800 Presents mark this message will still popup and this Santa will be waiting for you in your inventory once you get back to your Springfield.

Bonestorm Santa will be placed in your inventory, so you’ll have to go into your inventory to retrieve it.  Just tap on the “use” icon to place it in your Springfield:

He is a character, BUT he’s an non-playable one (NPC).  Which means he’ll walk around your Springfield & have animation when tapped..but he’ll have no tasks associated with him.

He’s part of the Winter 2014 Character Set:

Once placed in your Springfield some short dialogue between Ned & Bart will popup & a very minor task will be associated with it.  Here’s the full rundown:

Bad to the Bone

Ned: What the-diddly?!  What is that thing?!
Bart: It’s the Bonestorm Santa!  Only the coolest Christmas Themed video game character EVER!
Ned: But it’s supposed to be the season of love, not rocket launchers!  Whoever puts these characters in a video game has a sad and twisted view of human interactions.
Bart: So, that would be all game developers.
Tap Bonestorm Santa
Completed Task Earns 100 Presents and 10XP

So here’s the deal with this Rocket Launcher Santa:

-Non-Playable Character for Springfield
-No tasks/quests associated with him.  And no character interaction.
-Animated when tapped.
-Basically a Santa version of Frosty the Hitman

So that about covers all the details on Bonestorm Santa!

What do YOU think of Bonestorm Santa?  Have you won him yet?  Where are you in the present prizes?  Many left to go?  Sound off in the comments below, you know we LOVE hearing from you!

  1. I have an iPad. It absolutely will not allow me to have friends. Now I don’t have Feds. Anyone else have this problem?

  2. I store most event items but not all. The ones that boost your scores I tend to hide (I assume they don’t add when they’re in storage?) I keep the Santa Village year round and probably will with the toy workshop. Probably because I am a reverse Grinch. I’m a grumpy sod for most of the year but I love Christmas and there’s a big Christmas store near my house so it doesn’t seem out of place to have it there off season. For similar reasons I often don’t even place Thanksgiving stuff. I’m from Ireland and grew up in New Zealand so Thanksgiving has no meaning for me outside US sitcoms. For some reason my Springfield has to make sense, which is completely rational for a town with aliens and yellow skinned people.

  3. When I am tapping feds, I kinda miss the squishy “splat” sound the aliens and bunnies used to make. It was kinda sick to realize this about myself. LOL

    • LOL — I want that board with a nail for hitting those feds with — I keep missing and hitting the buildings they are near — the board needed much less precision and had that satisfying splat sound! 🙂

  4. I noticed a post above about a ski lift someones neighbor had and you related this to a hack. I’ve been playing since the beginning of tsto and have never used any hacking avenues, but I received tasks last week to send several of the characters to ride the conveyor belt ? Was that just a glitch or Oh Boy is something big coming?

  5. Eeeagh! Server kept crashing while dropping Feds off at my Neighboreeno’s with only a few hundred presents left to go, I seem to down for a while now. I play on a kindle fire but my girl’s IPad seems to be working just fine. Is this an Android vs Apple thing? Any one else having this problem?

    • I’m on Kindle fire as well and my game has been crashing and acting out more than usual since the event started. I haven’t had the time but I defiantly plan on reporting all the issues I’m having to EA.

  6. Losing out on prizes at the moment because I am having server problems and cannot connect! Keep getting that “Ugh! It’s that screen again!”

  7. Sorry to bug you if we miss the time bonus for 24 hours (100 present bonus) does that effect getting the hidden character I have missed it once as it was late fell asleep and woke up 10 mins after the deadline had expired ?

  8. “Buy me Bonestorm or go to Hell!”

  9. I was really worried because I got the Bonesstorm Santa yesterday and I was thinking that I will never get the last 2 rewards because I was so busy with Otto’s and Nelson ‘ s tasks but I guess I’m not doing that bad since I’m a newbie.

  10. Can someone please answer this question for me? One if my neighbours has a ski lift in their Springfield?!?
It’s big (mount carlmore size) and has trees and an animated lift with purple seats.I’m familiar with hacked and modded games but I really don’t get this, I’ve been playing since day 1 and I know that item has never been available. Thought at first it must be a part 2 prize but going by the silhouetted pictures that doesn’t appear to be the case?
So confused, they have nothing else unusual in their Springfield, they have everything but no doubles of unique items etc.

    • The neighbor is playing a hacked or modded TSTO game, which is against EA’s terms of service for the game.

It’s an item that will most likely be released in part 2. The staged releases really make it possible to spot the hackers in this update….

  11. Bonestorm Santa is almost as bad ass as Robot Santa on Futurama !!

  12. On the bright side at least he is animated. From the way Bender looks in the outline for part 2 he may just be an immobile decoration. No offense to Matt Groining but I would have preferred Bender as a character instead during the crossover event. :\

  13. I hope I get him! I’m about a week behind because I was locked out for a while. He is just one of the coolest prizes to me. 😛

  14. Overall xmas event this year is a little tedious, no bonus items and no usable characters, nice animations that look cool and free is good but overall disappointed =(

  15. Ohhhhhh niiccccceeee is the robo santa the character we get for finishing all the tunnels, I hope so 🙂

  16. I literally just got Bonestorm Santa before this post went up. Hopefully that means I’m on track to finish on time. Not sure about the number of NPCs we’re getting at the moment, they just clutter up the streets of Springfield and inevitably go straight into storage after the end of the relavent event.

    • It actually means you’re a little ahead 🙂

I’ve been trying to post these as you would win them playing based on Bunny’s calendar. So you’re in great shape! 🙂

  17. Awesome, just wish his rocket had at least a small explosion. Seems like he’s shooting duds…

    • I think the Barnstorm Santa does shoot something. When I click on him, his launcher gets a lot of lightning like bolts appearing, then something that looks like a gaming box shoots out.

  18. I gleefully tap on Bonestorm Santa throughout the day. Love that evil laugh.

The character also reminds me of the wicked sick and twisted commercial for their Christmas special that Bill Murray’s “Scooged” network is going to run – Santa is being besieged at the north pole by terrorists with rocket launchers, with a tagline something like “Watch it – You can’t afford not to!”

Oh, look, I tapped it again.

  19. Too bad he has no epic “Frosty fights Bonestorm Santa” task… I am afraid he will find himself in my storage once the event is over.
