12/23: New Christmas Quests

UPDATE BUNNY: EA is pushing out patches. Let us know if this helps with this task being stuck. If not, hang in there for the next one.

UPDATE BUNNY: For all those getting stuck on the “done” issue again, there are a few things you can try if you really want to go that route.

1: Go to Krustyland/Neighbor and back to your Springfield.

2: Uninstall/Reinstall the app if you have your game linked to an Origin ID.

However, so far the majority of players that have tried this have not had good results. For now, the best thing to do is Contact EA and light up the Forums.

Hey Howdy Hey Tappers!

We’re nearing the end of Part 1 of Christmas….so you’ve got a little under 24hrs to gather those last minute presents and earn as many prizes as you can before Phase 1 leaves town.  (You also may want to finish your tunnel tasks up…)

As was mentioned in the initial Jingle Bell Wreck questline….we were all left with a cliff hanger to see if Springfield really did ruin Christmas or if it would be saved.  And today, that questline has picked right back up!  So let’s take a look at the remaining parts of Jingle Bell Wreck, and see if Christmas will be saved!

Santa

Homer will get things going for you in Springfield.  So if you don’t see the quests right away check to see if Homer is free (also make sure you’ve completed the first 12 parts of Jingle Bell Wreck).  If they’re still not popping up for you try a hard close and restart of TSTO.

Jingle Bell Wreck Pt. 13
Homer starts

Make Homer Dress as Santa- 1hr, Earns $70, 17xp

Completed Task Earns 100 Presents and 10xp

Jingle Bell Wreck Pt. 14
Homer starts

Make Homer Try to Fly the Sleigh- 4hrs, Earns $175, 45xp

Completed Task Earns 100 Presents and 10xp

Jingle Bell Wreck Pt. 15
Lisa starts

Make Santa Deliver Presents- 8hrs, Earns 4 Presents, 70xp

Completed Task Earns 100 Presents and 10xp

So now that task for Santa, that has been locked, is now freed up & you can send him to deliver presents!

There’s also a continuation of Apu’s short questline from yesterday’s update.  Today’s task will require:

Frankincense, Myrrh, and Donuts Pt. 2
Apu starts

Make Apu Search for a Christmas Tree- 4hrs, Earns $175, 45xp

And all signs right now are pointing to a donut deal from everyone’s favorite Salesmen Gil!  So be ready to buy some donuts…because now is the best time of the year to get them (and it usually only happens once a year).

Right now every indication is showing it will start tomorrow (Christmas Eve) and run until the 27th.  We’ll know for sure tomorrow when it actually hits…but we figured we’d give you a little warning since I know many of you have been asking for him.

So that’s it for today’s questline additions.  Remember phase 1 ends tomorrow (12/24) at 1700 GMT (Noon EST)…so collect those last minute presents while you still can!  Also, other items will be disappearing from the store over the next couple of days…so be sure to pick up what you want before it’s gone!

  1. This event has been bugged since the start for me. Last night my game glitched on jingle bell wreck pt 14. This morning I logged in and I can’t do part 15 or finish Apu’s task. I contact EA via live chat and was told it is a known glitch and they are working on it. I’m so bummed as I was only 90 something shy of getting the last prize. That 100 extra presents would have really helped. I mention that I regularly visit this site which I though would help but it did not. Now I’m playing and everything is lagging and running at snail speed. I love playing this game but this event has frustrated more than entertained me. Sad! I really enjoyed the Halloween event. Come on EA! Help us out!

  2. Kind of bummed. My jingle bell part 14 didn’t clear until today, but that meant that I never got to have Santa deliver presents. He’s still in my town, but no longer has tasks after the last update. 🙁

  3. Well, I’ve finally been hit by a HUGE glitch that I’ve been dreading. I play two towns. My B-Town plays fine since the latest update (present/fed removal, etc.), but my A-Town logs in, gets past all the initial folderol (“Tap to continue,” “Warning!” “Play anyway?”), and then crashes my game to my home screen – so, appears sign-in related. I’ve tried every remedy suggested here, including a clean reinstall, so I guess my next course is to reach out to EA (as I break out in a cold sweat!) Any suggestions would be very welcome…and happy Ho-Ho, in any event!

      • And right you were, Bunny. I spoke with Karen @ EA Support, and she verified that indeed the problem was tied to my sign-in and the recent update. She said (unfortunately) she would have to refer the case the in-game techs, and given the holiday it could take up to a week, so we closed the call on that less-than-happy note. But then, what to my wondrous eyes should appear?…a follow-up email from Karen explaining that “the developers had done a backend update.” She actually took the trouble (after holiday hours) to check my sign-in, and ALL IS WELL! Best EA C.S. ever! (And I’ve had a few over the years.) Oh, joy – just a game, but still…nice to know jingle bell fun is more than just a wistful dream.
Thanks for providing the info…I hope all enjoy the blessings of the season, and have a joyous New Year.

    • I seem to be having the same issue as Susan here. I’ve been playing on iOS for more than a year and never had any problems. But since 5 am today, I can’t get past the login screen because the app keeps crashing. I’ve tried logging in from an Android device, and yet, the same thing happens. I’ve also tried everything suggested here and I’ve contacted EA too, but I don’t know how long that can take.
Does anyone have any suggestions? What can I do??
