Anyway enough rambling from me….it IS Sunday and you know what that means, right? No it’s not time to change Baby New Year’s diaper! Nope it’s time for another Sunday Night Open Thread!
Here’s where you can talk about anything you want to talk about…TSTO Related, Simpson’s Related or ANYTHING. Just no Add me requests…those should go here. We’ll give you a few suggestions (like most Sunday’s you can talk about the current episode of the Simpsons) but for the most part you’re free to talk about ANYTHING your little Tapping Fingers desire…just keep it PG.
So…here is your Sunday Night Open Thread. After a few weeks off…the Simpsons are back with an all new episode tonight! What will happen with the Simpsons see the Rigellians? Lots of glitches and lockouts this week in TSTO, how did you do with them? Are you still on track for all of the Elf Bell prizes? College Bowl games were played this past week…how did your team do? Are you ready for the National Championship game? NFL playoffs are in full swing, how’d your team do? Who are you pulling for to make it to the Super Bowl? Did you do anything fun and exciting for New Year’s Eve or Day?
So chat about the Simpsons, TSTO, glitchs, College Sports, NFL, New Year’s or anything else you can think of! Can’t wait to chat with you all, you know we LOVE hearing from you!

Couldn’t find anywhere else to put this, so I thought here would be the best spot. I just saw a Tapped Out notification on my phone that said “Thieves and support beams beware” It says more but I can’t figure out how to see what it says on this new phone. Can anyone tell me if they saw it, and what it says?
I’m only about 1250 away from getting the final prize. Was already well on track to complete before the original deadline. Then I had a car accident on Thursday and have had to take time off work due to whiplash and back injuries. So I’ve had some extra time to play, in between sleeping because I’m on a cocktail of prescription painkillers and anti inflammatories which make me very drowsy.
On a positive note, other than the aforementioned injuries, I’m ok and the car has suffered bodywork damage but is still safe to drive. Which is really surprising as it was a 7.5 ton lorry which ran into the back of my stationary car at traffic lights. Luckily neither he nor the driver in front of me were injured and we all were able to drive away after exchanging details. It did mean Thursday night was spent at the doctors, at the police station reporting it and on the phone to my insurance company.
Hope you heal fast. Stinks about the damage on the material stuff but you’re the irreplaceable one.
Thanks! It could have been so much worse and I’m really thankful that it wasn’t. I may be sore but at least I’m still alive.
Honestly! What some people will do to get more game time!! Really Nessy! There are easier ways you know!
You poor thing! I, like Wookie, hope you heal fast and completely. You take care of your neck! I have cervical spondylitis in my neck from such an injury and it gives me gip, so rest up and allow yourself to heal.

Thanks Julie, at least I can now move about pretty well. Just can’t lift anything really heavy and driving hurts too. I’m going back to work tomorrow.

Is there any chance of a new level update or tie-in coming in the next 48 hours? Anything envisioned or decoded in the files? I’ve been holding off on a couple of 24 hour tasks; plus, buying a building (or three), just-in-case an update hits.

I kind of would like to see the game on the last day of the event give us a vast amount of elves, and to just shoot them with blatant disregard to the cannon cooling down to make it explode/damaged and have that as decoration once the event is over.
I lost a TSTO friend. Well, I was friends with her for a few years over the net prior to TSTO via various social media platforms. I last communicated with her just a couple weeks ago around Christmas, but she and I would visit each other’s Springfield on a daily basis. She was number 3 on my TSTO friends leaderboard for this current holiday event. Tonight I learned she passed away this morning. I don’t know how or any the details yet, but it is very unexpected. What is kind of eerie is that I know one of the last things she must had done was to visit my Springfield. She usually always visited each and every morning. She will be missed.
I’m so sorry to hear this…I can imagine it’s left you feeling very sad. I’m glad you were able to come hear and share this with us – I’m sure there are many of us who can relate.
I hope you can take a small measure of comfort in the fact that your little Springfield brought her at least a little pleasure each morning.
OH NO!!! Will you email me who please? I want to see if they were one of our regulars I haven’t heard from.
Louis, please accept my heartfelt condolences on your loss. I have had a few neighbours just stop calling by and have often wondered what has become of them so I am pleased you have had word of your neighbour’s passing so you weren’t left wondering. We each play a part in our neighbour’s lives without realising the extent of this role. Please know we feel for your loss and hope you have long long and fond memories of your dear neighbour and obvious friend.

Sandra & Julie, Thanks for your kind words each. I use TSTO to escape from the everyday horrors and sadness of life, and now for the first time, in the game, well, at least part of it (visiting neighbors) brings a little sadness. Although I am still in the shock and disbelief stage of grief right now. A mutual friend who was closer to her will hopefully find out what happened. I don’t need details. I can respect the family’s need for privacy. But this really came out of the blue for me and I just want to try to make some sense out of it. As I said, it wasn’t just TSTO that we were connected with, I would see her posting via social media pretty much daily. I was connected with her via the Path app which for those that may not use it, it is meant for close friends and it notified you of all the posts your friends make (it’s limited to just 150 friends, originally only 50). She kept on using Path while all my other friends (including myself) had kind of stopped over the past year. We were also connected via the same exercise app that I used for bicycling and she used for bicycling and walking. She had just logged a walk she made the day before. So everything seemed quite normal and this really just took me for a complete surprise.
I still have been visiting her Springfield, as there are still tap-able things in it. Although obviously no one is clearing them out now, so eventually that will end and I will have to remove her from the friends I visit daily.

I wish I could reach so far as to give you a huge big hug, Louis. I understand the escaping of life for us on TSTO..I think each of us do it for at least a part of the escape…as well as the fun.
Remember your friend’s vibrancy..which would have been evident in her blogs on walking and cycling. It’s nice that you are still visiting her town and tapping…it will help you in a small way…and when there’s no more to tap, you may feel like you just want to visit her and sit awhile in her gardens until you feel at peace with this loss. Don’t just delete when there’s no more buildings, wait till you have come to terms with it, so that you will still be able to visit her town when you feel the need..

Am I the only one that has an INSANE amount of elves bottled? I have over 500 elves bottled right now and there’s no way to keep up with them. How does EA expect us to get rid of that many elves before the event is over?
Me too, not as many as you but I’ve never had less than 100, usually it’s around 150. Given the rate of cog collection I don’t see how I’ll ever get rid of them. It’s weird when other people are running out of them.
I think it’s built into the source code, just like the way some people would have NEVER EVER received Sherry Robbins or the Singing Priest, last Easter no matter how many donuts they spent on eggs.

I have over 600 but I stopped firing the cannon for a couple days when everyone first started complaining about running out of elves. I figured I’d update the cannon a bit and save the elves until they were worth more. Based on my current level, if I can fire them all, plus the ones I get in the next few days, I should collect the island on the last day or perhaps a day before that. (It really depends on how many times a day I can fire the cannon — gotta sleep sometime!)
I have 16 elves.
Maybe I’ll have enough for the three shots, by this afternoon.
Is anyone else finding that some of their one off quest tasks are remaining as options? For example, Homer has the option still to ‘worship billionaires’ as well as the Christmas tasks, but not to make toys in the workshop. I’ve finished the Zutroy quest line. Some of my other characters have kept tasks too, and they show at the top of their task options, above shorter tasks, but they’re not highlighted. Not a big issue, just curious if it’s just me 🙂
I’m enjoying the current event, and I’m managing to keep slightly ahead of the calendar without so far running out of elves. I’ve got little helper Ralph, and I love him! I like having more task options, I still wish the barbarian/smithers date option had been permanent so they both had that shorter task.
It all depends on what is available at the time for them to do. Some do remain around until end of events or questlines then go away. Like with Toyshop, the Toy Workshop is no longer “open” for tasks to be completed inside and now more just a money generating building…hence the tasks are gone.
Tasks will only highlight if they are a requirement to complete a questline, otherwise they just hang there until they are either moved to a permanent location after event…or removed completely after an event.
