Elf Bell Prizes: Breaking Down the Sequel Stop

Hey Howdy Hey My Elfish Tappers!

Well….unless you’ve been partying a little too hard you know that Elves have taken over Springfield!  Elves work hard and party even harder…so much so that even Santa bailed on Springfield!  It’s your job to contain the Elves and send them back to the North Pole.  In doing so you’ll earn Elf Bells..which will give you some awesome prizes!

With this event EA is repeating a similar prize structure to what they did for Halloween, only more prizes, and releasing the event (and prizes) in stages.  For the second phase, which lasts until the event ends (Jan 13th), you can win 8 prizes by collecting Elf Bells.  The fourth prize awarded at 6,500 Bells is the Sequel Stop.

WARNING Mild Dialogue Spoilers Ahead

Once you’ve collected 6,500 Elf Bells the Sequel Stop will automatically be awarded to you and you’ll see this popup:

Sequel bells

Much like Friendship Prizes, if you’re visiting a neighbor when you hit the 6,500 Bell mark this message will still popup and your store will be waiting for you in your inventory once you get back to your Springfield.

The Sequel Stop will automatically be placed in your inventory, so you’ll have to go into your inventory to retrieve it.  Just tap the “use” icon to place it in your Springfield.

After you’ve won it some dialogue between Homer and Lisa will popup & you’ll be prompted with a task to place it.  Here’s the full rundown:

All Sequels Aren’t Equal

Homer: Sequel Stop?! A video game store?  I thought they all went out of business years ago.
Lisa: they rebranded.  Now they offer an “intimate atmosphere” to debate the merits of various sequels.  They hire hipster art school drop-outs.  If you can convince one of them you’re right, you get an out-of-date video game for free. You can never convince them you’re right.
Place the Sequel Stop- 24hr Build
Make Springfielders Argue about Sequels- x10.  Send 10 residents of Springfield to the Sequel Stop.  2hrs, Earns $110, 27xp non-Premium and $175, 40xp premium.  Just about everyone in Springfield can go.
Make Homer Try to Score a Free Sequel- 2hrs, Earns $110, 27xp
Bart: So, did you end up winning the argument and getting a game for free dad?
Homer: Not only did I lose the argument about fifteen different franchises, bt now I’m also seriously considering going back to school to study art.

Completed Task Earns 100 Elf Bells and 10XP

So here’s the deal with the Sequel Stop:

-Cool animation when it use.
-No character tasks/interaction after the initial questline
-5×6 in size.
-Earns $75, 7xp/ 3hrs
-Conform-o-Meter: Consumerism +10

  1. I think it will stay user-friendly if Homer doesn’t do his task in it. I had him on a 24 hour one and I’m on my second time sending my town there.

  2. Mine isn’t animated anymore.

  3. Another building with a cool animation that remains unused after one use. I would love to see EA make more use of buildings like this one or the Guinea Pig Rescue Center.

    • Add the Make-A-Thing Workshop to the list of buildings that should stay in use. I was so hopeful when I saw cogwheels and bottles and bells that we would be using the Make-A-Thing workshop again, but alas, it was not meant to be.

  4. Is it me or the only way to upgrade the elf cannon to level 20 is with donuts? I play at least ten times a day and I’m at level 13 and with 6 days left I don’t see it possible without using my precious sprinkles

  5. Give us some ongoing tasks EA to enjoy the cool animation!

  6. I agree with everyone else, it’s a shame there’s no on-going task. Maybe in the next level update? But for me the characters who should be using it are already in the game.

  7. Yeah, I think it’s odd they went through the effort to animate the building but then give us no way to use it animated. Not really a complaint since it was free but strange nonetheless.

  8. I’m sure the artist who designed it and the programmer who coded it are mighty peeved that nobody gets to see their good work. I’m a bit peeved too. At least give CBG or one of the nerds a small task there…

  9. The Sequel Stop is so far the only prize I like. Overall I’m really ready for this xmas event to be over. It’s really boring.

  10. I gotta say, I am totally over this event. Really enjoyed phase 1, but phase two is tiresome tracking down a hundred little elves every day. It would be better if we could ring the bell and get them all. Plus, the prizes are not at all exciting. Oh well, they can’t all be good I suppose. Looking forward to what’s next!

  11. Cool store and animation. Disappointing that’s all there is though, especially with a 24hr build… At least if the animation played once and a while it would be ok… Same with the train… Lots of wasted possibilities with these awards

    • Hey Phil,

Up at the top of the screen is a menu. The ADD FRIENDS link from that menu is a better place for these requests — people who are looking for more friends look there for these kinds of posts, and often post their own add me requests there too, so you don’t even have to wait — just start sending invites out. Good luck!

I’m tired of animated buildings with no ongoing questlines. What’s the point of animating them if we only get to see it for a day of two?

  14. If a good addition but I’m disappointed there are no on-going tasks for the store, especially as the animation whilst it had visitors was actual rather cool.

  15. I like Phase 1 so much better. The whole concept of Phase 2 is annoying. I like the Sequel Stop BUT wish there was more interaction to it after the initial quest so that the sign on it can be on constantly. I just got Spruce Caboose this morning and have officially run out of elf bottles despite them showing up every 15 minutes or so. Don’t know if I will get the last prize or not without having to spend donuts. Don’t know if it will be worth it or not.

  16. wish they’d give somebody a task for it as the lit up sign is very cool indeed
