Elf Bell Prizes: Breaking Down Little Helper Ralph

Hey Howdy Hey My Elfish Tappers!

Well….unless you’ve been partying a little too hard you know that Elves have taken over Springfield!  Elves work hard and party even harder…so much so that even Santa bailed on Springfield!  It’s your job to contain the Elves and send them back to the North Pole.  In doing so you’ll earn Elf Bells..which will give you some awesome prizes!

With this event EA is repeating a similar prize structure to what they did for Halloween, only more prizes, and releasing the event (and prizes) in stages.  For the second phase, which lasts until the event ends (Jan 13th), you can win 8 prizes by collecting Elf Bells.  The Sixth prize awarded at 13,800 Bells is the Little Helper Ralph.

Let’s take a closer look at Santa’s newest special helper and just what happens when you win it him your Springfield…

WARNING Mild Dialogue Spoilers Ahead

Once you’ve collected 13,800 Elf Bells Little Helper Ralph will automatically be awarded to you and you’ll see this popup:

LHR2

Much like Friendship Prizes, if you’re visiting a neighbor when you hit the 13,800 Bell mark this message will still popup and your newest Elf will be waiting for you in your inventory once you get back to your Springfield.

Little Helper Ralph will automatically be placed in your inventory, so you’ll have to go into your inventory to retrieve it.  Just tap the “use” icon to place it in your Springfield.

Note: You MUST pull him from you inventory in order to see him in your Springfield.  He will not automatically be applied to Ralph.  He’ll only enter your Springfield once you click use from inventory & see this popup:

LHR5

Seeing this popup in your game is a confirmation that he’s in your Springfield.

After you’ve “placed” him in your Springfield his questline will popup.  For those that don’t like spoilers you’ll only need Ralph and Dr. Hibbert for quests and Ralph (and possibly Wiggum..see below) are need for  questline triggers.  Now here’s the Turbo Tappin’ version of Ralph’s short questline:

Special Helper Pt. 1
Ralph starts

Make Little Helper Ralph Eat Yellow Snow- 4hrs, Earns $175, 45xp

Sorry guys my game glitched and I didn’t see who triggered this one.  I know it wasn’t Ralph (as he was on a task) so I’m assuming it’s Wiggum (if you know please correct me)

  1. Who doesn’t like Ralph in a elf costume? I don’t know anyone who doesn’t!!

  2. I had another task after the 12 hr MRI scan with Dr. Hibbert, triggered when I freed Ralph. It was 60 minutes to hug Santa! That’s a lot of huggin…..

  3. Has anyone gotten up to level 20 upgrade for the elf cannon? I would love to know if it gets a new graphic, and if so if it’s worth going for. I don’t think I’m going to make it in time without donuts 🙁

  4. Think I’ll be leaving Ralph in this skin all of the time, he normally eludes me when I’m clearing completed tasks but with this skin I can always find him.

I agree with others here that this is slightly odd timing for this prize to be available but I still think it’s fun.

  5. its a cool skin but the whole quest seems like it should have taken place during phase 1……

  6. One good point for this Ralph skin is that it seems he’s the only one able to make the Toy Workshop start it’s animation again after the event is over.

Too bad they won’t give one of the kids a task to make Sequel Stop turn on.

  7. A lot of Phase 2 stuff was very Christmasy, which felt out of plus but oh well- more free stuff! What I was disappointed in, is that Ralph’s quests didn’t reward with bells. All other reward based quests did, felt a bit of a cop out. Would have helped before I got all the rewards seeing as the elf ratio was a bit skewed.

  8. It was fun but it seems late. We should have gotten this prize while Santa was in town.

  9. I see you posted as each quest reward pays cash and I see other comments about people being upset it only pays cash. It’s very odd to me because I got him about a week ago and all his tasks rewarded me 100 bells each task. Maybe EA had changed it recently or did I experience a happy glitch?

  10. I hope they bring him back to buy for donuts next year so his currently regular paying tasks start giving premium payouts, like with giuseppe >:)

  11. I was so thrilled to finally get a 4 hour task for Ralph. It always threw off the rhythm when everyone else on 4 hour tasks. I’m much much happier now! Also it doesn’t hurt the mood that his outdoor tasks are so cute, though it might be strange to have him eat yellow snow in the summer…

  12. My ralph he,per quests aren’t triggering. He completed eat yellow snow and then nothing.

  13. I have a question, the only way to earn bells are: visit friends, firing elf and upgrade the cannon ?

  14. And the servers are down again

  15. My favorite prize! I’ve been waiting for a skin for Ralphie! But I agree with others; would have been nice if this quest line gave out the bells. I don’t think I’ll get enough to get the last two prizes.

  16. Laughed my way through this questline, it was great. Really enjoyed it.

  17. Finally a four-hour task for Ralph!

  18. After the “make little helper Ralph eat glitter” the next task involves little helper Ralph and Dr.Hibbit! It’s a 12 hour task for both, Dr. Hobbit is prompted to practice medicine for 12 hours and Ralph has a new task and he goes for an MRI for 12 hours!

  19. As Ralph would say, yellow snow “tastes like burning!” 🙂

  20. BEST WINTER PRIZE EVER.
I thoroughly enjoyed the questline, the animations, the character interaction. And now I have a skin for Ralphie!

Any help on the elf shortage front? Why does EA mess up every single event in some way or another? Its like EA is an actual place in a real Springfield, staffed with real Springfielders. It would be funny if it werent sad.

    • Looking back, it seems like the right strategy to maximize bells was to hoard elves and not fire the cannon while they were paying fewer than 5 elf bells. Then in the last week you charge through, firing every two hours and getting max payout. Would have been no way to know that earlier, though. I wonder if they were expecting that more people would be firing elves into their neighbors’ towns to resupply…

  22. I was disappointed that a skin that was given away during an event like this does not award the event currency at all. As many have noted, the math starts getting to you the further along you get in this event. I was really hoping that Little Helper Ralph would…well…help a little.

Still a fun little addition to the game, but wish his tasks paid out some bells for a few days. Oh well…

  23. I thought this questline was adorable, but it felt so out of place since santa is supposed to be gone, the elves are supposed to be partying, and toy production is supposed to have stopped. It’s like they intended this skin to come out before Christmas. Nonetheless, I enjoy the skin and the tasks. I wonder if he’ll still be able to eat yellow snow when the snow melts.

  24. He would have been more useful and funny before when Santa was around and the presents were there, in my opinion. I would have rather seen something to do w/ the elves
