Bouncing by to offer clarification for everyone as this seems to STILL be a point of argument when it should not be. So here it is….
For those players that ALREADY went through the Devil & the FCC Questline, just AFTER Part 5…
The Devil and the FCC Pt. 5
Lisa starts

Mr. Burns: Incinerate the letter and send her the usual response.
Smithers: But sir, she’s a minor.
Mr. Burns: You’re right. Send her a pony head instead.
Reach Level 11 and Build the Control Building
Make Springfielders Protest Burns’ Premium Service- 8hrs, Earns $275, 70xp freemium, $420, 105xp premium.
THIS is what popped up (again confirmed through 5 different test games as well as EA sources). 
So again, to clarify, it ONLY directs you to the store front so you can see the new cars that are for PURCHASE. At no point what so ever did the dialog or the pop up state one was placed in the Inventory. Again, confirmed. (See also the 3 on the Menu Hammer and Saw Icon noting 3 NEW Items… aka New Cars.)
To go a step further, due to so many tapped on through and did not pay attention to the dialog… it looks like EA pulled the pop up. So any of you that have NOT got to this point just yet… you probably won’t even notice it missing. The dialog will just play on past. (Just tested this in two more games, both resulting in no pop up now either after Part 5 or Part 6. Just a notification of 3 New items in the store marked by the #3 over the Hammer and Saw Icon.)
There yah go. Hope that helps to clarify the Pop Up. Go back to having fun and enjoying this awesome game. K thnx bai. 🙂

I just completed part 5 and received the pop up about the red car being in the store but it is not. After researching, it looks like they went away at the end of Janurary but I never saw them and just got the pop up for the red one on Feb 14th. I want a chance to buy the cars.
When the update hit they were in the store, whether or not you completed the questline. They were premium.

Yes, it’s slightly confusing since the items were already available in the Store before the pop-up appeared, but people also need to learn to read better.
FYI, for what it’s worth, the new item indicator was showing as soon as the update completed and I was back in my game, and I saw the three cars as soon as I looked, which was right after completing part 1. I had to wait a few hours to start part 2 because I already had Lisa in a task, and the cars were definitely available at that point of the game, but I don’t recall if I saw the pop-up telling me about them later.
I bought a blue one. Liked the red color better but in terms of bang-for-the-buck the blue and yellow were the only real choices since I am not purchasing donuts and need to make each donut count, and the red doesn’t have nearly the same ROI as the blue and yellow cars.
Yes, I was pointing out how EA uses pop ups to direct players to buy items… even though the notifications are already present. Sometimes people don’t even know what those are for. It is like an extra selling point.
For instance… a grocery store puts “sale” tags all throughout the aisles on items for sale… but I can bet that if there was a BIG GIANT SIGN right as you walked in that one or three specific items were on sale, you would take notice of them right away and even go looking for them. Same concept. They use the pop ups as their BIG GIANT SIGNS to bring focus to items. 😉

The cars were available to buy immediately for me. I didn’t have to do the quest to buy them. Not that i will be after the utter clusterF of the islands.
Still a bit dissappointed they didn’t give one free car, I mean they were already available in the store for donuts way before I finished the questline. And sinds they probably face the wrong direction for the outdoor movie theater I’m not going to buy any of them.
Yes, they do face the wrong way for the drive-in.😕 I still put 2 of them there! Interesting…I’ve never heard a drive-in referred to as an ‘outdoor movie theatre’ until now. 🙂
Would have been cool, if everyone got free one for doing that quest, but one that was a different color. Like green, that contributed to tree-hugging.
Just completed part 5, and I still had the pop up stating that the electric car is now available for purchase. Just wanted to let you know. 😃

Unrelated, kinda, but that looks like a lot of Rigellian tribal huts in the picture. The Queen has invaded lol. But yeah, I was confused when the pop up came, I thought I got a free one lol, this helped. Thanks!
