Rather disappointed there wasnt a game day freebie today like last year. was looking forward to a decoration for Moes, or Duff Brewery, or the stadium.

Donut Strategy:
I wanted to share this, not sure why, maybe someone else might like to try it.
I’ve never really been someone who goes to neighbors towns daily, unless it’s an event or collecting friend prizes. But, one day I was bored and while visiting friends I ended up finding 5 individual donuts. I was kind of amazed that this is what I’d been missing out on.
I’ve always wanted Mt Carlmore, so I decided to keep a tally of my daily donut wins. I’ve been doing this for a couple weeks and only have 70 more donuts to collect for Mt Carlmore. No, I’m not winning 5 donuts a day, sometimes only one. But, I’m finding that concentrating on a prize makes it much more enjoyable and I’m surprised at how fast I’m getting to my goal.
I have donuts on reserve for limited time prizes from events, but I think I’m going to use this method of concentrating on a non-limited time, prize.
I buy donuts, but psychologically I can’t just keep spending so much money on this game. After this, I’m going to concentrate on collecting to get Fink’s Lab.
Once I was able to say NO to a few premium items, it became much easier not to have to have everything. Wish I’d been doing this all along. 🙁
Burrito…I got EIGHT donuts from visiting my neighbours just a couple weeks ago, so yes…visiting neighbours is an excellent source of donuts…so long as you have reached max in your FP’s. Most days I get one or two…then I go for days without any..but usually it’s not uncommon for me to pick up 2-3 a day visiting neighbours.
Wow, eight is crazy! That’s awesome. We work for weeks to get our three XP donuts when all you really have to do is visit your neighbors.
Haven’t had many since then tho! Lol. Today visiting all neighbours of my four towns…I get two!! In four towns!! Half donut per my towns! Lol the eight is obviously rare…I have managed to do six at once as well…but think that’s pretty unusual as well…I’m happy with any! Lol

Hello fellow tappers, I was hoping we would get something for the Super Bowl. I started TSTO last summer so I wasn’t playing last year. Last year they gave away a blimp, right? Did they give it in the morning or closer to when the Super Bowl starts?( just wondering if there is any chance we might still get something.) Anyway, if yr in the north Jersey area like I am, we are getting more snow tonight. Isn’t it spring yet? Thanx and have fun.

Good morning Springfield I live here in Phoenix Arizona with the Super Bowl and it’s crazy!! Go Hawks…. get some skettels ready it’s “Beast mode” time. I LOVE IT. All day Simpsons and Football my two favorite things. It’s awesome here except the traffic but very excited. Love you guys whoo hoo! Hello fellow tappers, and Wesley as this is a reply or his comment. I’m from New Jersey (5-10 minutes from met life stadium) and last year it was crazy around here. Yes even though it was billed as the New York Super Bowl, it was in north jersey. This year though, around here it seems like there is less Super Bowl talk than usual, but it might just be because last year was so hyped. I thought it was fun living in the Super Bowl area. We got real lucky with the weather and besides a little complaining from people riding busses and trains to and from the stadium on game day, there were no problems. Anyway, have fun.

It’s funny – my car is a 2001 also, but it’s not “sporty” (it’s a “silverstream opalescent” Toyota Corolla (gotta love their paint color names lol!)). My husband has a bright red Toyota Echo (same year).

I appreciate the Japanese brands as well, never had a toyo but have had a Mazda and a Mitsi, they never die! I managed to put over 240k on my Mazda 323 ’98 protege and when I bought the audi it had over 400k (and yes, it blew a little smoke, EPA warnings an’ all)

We had a Mitsibishi Triton twin cab before I got the Tiida…and you’re right Cubey…they never die! I wanted to exchange my then brand new Tiida back for the old triton, but the new owner wouldn’t be in it! Lol. I’m a bush baby…I love my ute!! And the Tiida is not a bash about ute! Lol..and all my cars have been named after my grandmother…Gertie!

Can you tell Jamie is an Audi fan?? Lol…mind you when we were in Sydney last April, my son was pointing out all the posh cars to Jamie in the Cross when we heard his voice from the back seat say….”oh man!! It’s a Valiant!” There was this dilapidated old valiant parked in a back street, and my eagle eyed grandson saw it! It was so funny! Aaron had made special effort to show Jamie all these sporty, costly cars and he was interested in that old crappy thing! That sort of put paid any more visits to the Cross! Lol
We have a chap at the back of us who collects vintage-ish cars…think he is a Datsun/Mazda man as that seems to be the majority of what he has…but have seen an old motor bike there as well…not sure if it’s an Indian or not…but he also has a vintage sports car which makes my grandson drool…and a Madza RX7….my kids still call them Knight Rider cars to this day! Lol

I don’t mind the cold, Julie, it’s the snow I hate (you don’t have to shovel cold!). Too cold is better than too hot, since you can always put on more layers, but, in the heart, once you’re naked, that’s it lol! I can tolerate a bit of dry heat, if I have to, but humid heat is the worst!!!!
Sooo jealous. .. I live in a city of rain and sun, but absolutely prefer the colder climates. … I dream of traveling to all yhe cold parts of the world, greenland, alaska and siberia first!
Is any one else getting caught up in a recurring loop of having Krusty walk Mr. Teeny? It only triggers if I go to Krusty Land. When I go back to Springfield to do it, Krusty is not on the task bar & if you go to his task list it is down the list in plain white text, not at the top in yellow/gold like assigned tasks always are. Got rid of it briefly by storing Krusty Burger & Krusty along with that but it keeps recurring. I actually had him do it last night into this morning but it keeps coming back with the same inability to do it as an assigned task. So it pays but it doesn’t seem to get scratched off my task list. Any ideas?

Me too me too! It’s been driving me nuts for months. The task is never in yellow, so I can’t complete it. Meanwhile, I’ve stopped getting any other random mini tasks, so I feel like I’m missing out on $$. Sooo annoying.
I have the Mr Teeny problem every time I leave my Springfield. No solution except to walk him that I found.
Walking him doesn’t fix it though. Read my post. I did it last night, finished this morning, & it keeps coming back. I suspect this is because it isn’t in gold at the top of Krusty’s task list so while you get paid, it doesn’t count as an assigned task that has been completed.
Right, but if he is already doing the walking task, it doesn’t come up. I even put him in inventory and it still comes up. I’d rather just have a task he can do alone and no notification.

I’ve got that too! The task seems to pop up whenever I store Mr teeny, but it vanishes again and can’t be completed.
Having the same problem. Started after the xmas event ended. I usually keep Mr Teeny in inventory, I wonder if that’s what’s causing it bc it usually pops up after I’ve stored him.
Just wondering, has anyone else noticed how high of a rate Moe’s Moog skin’s shortest task earns at? It’s something like $35 for 6 seconds, a nice little bonus if you need some cash.
Yellow fellow tappers. I usually keep moog moe doin the ole in out, in out because doing it twice equals his one hour task. I was worried when we first got him that it was a mistake but hopefully it’s here to stay.

For the last 2 or 3 days my game has been going back to the Bart screen after 10 to 20 taps…. Very annoying. I can log back in and start over but it takes forever to clears old tasks and start new ones.
I play on an iPad and have plenty of memory….any suggestions?…thanks and enjoy Super Bowl Sunday

Hola! This is James in Cozumel, Mexico where it’s sunny & warm. I’m level 49 and have a problem with placing the Old Abandoned Warehouse in my Springfield. Every time I try to buy & place it, it ends up trying to get me to place it half on the beach & half in the water (as though it was the SquidPort entrance). Anyone else having this problem? I’ve tried the usual stuff; go to Krustyland & return, exit & return, shut down & return, but haven’t done the uninstall / reinstall. Anybody got any help suggestions other than doing a problem report to EA?
Really – that’s kind of exciting! I haven’t found anything that the game will allow me to place in that no-man’s land of the last two beach rows and first two water rows! I’ve already built a pier for the warehouse out of Squidport tiles, but I may have to reconsider…
At any rate, my understanding was that the warehouse could only be placed on Squidport tiles…have you tried that? You didn’t say exactly where you were trying to place it…
Did you try placing it on an empty boardwalk space? Mine went there without a problem.
You have to place it on the boardwalk. Put it fully on the wood tiles.
Needs to be placed in Squidport.
Hello from cold and snowy Canada! It has to be placed on squidport tiles and can’t be placed anywhere else. I’ve read other users had problems placing it there if they had too many decorations out on squidport. Their fix was to store some decorations and it finally let them place it.
Yeah! That’s what I had to do, remove some decorations & extra stands from squidport to get it to turn green. Now that it’s building, I have put them all back with no problems. Thank you for your help!

I have a question about the game, I’m at level 49, and I’ve completed all of the quests. What do you guys do to keep having fun in the game? How do you maximize your in game cash flow? Can you do it without having a huge house farm like many of my friends? I seem to get random quests, is that normal? Thanks for this site and all of your help. This site has improved my enjoyment of the game.
You don’t need a house farm. I’m at max level with about $7M in savings without having any ugly house farms.
The best way I’ve found to maximize cash flow is to keep sending your characters on the shortest tasks you can manage to keep up with. Also, it helps to have a good multiplier. As a freemium player, mine isn’t all that high (about 34%, I think), but that’s still pretty helpful. I purposely doughnut some donuts on a couple of inexpensive premium items with good multipliers (like the jet engine bike) and picked up a whole lot of spooky walls during Halloween (each one was only a .05% multiplier, but, when you add them all up, I’ve gotten a pretty good boost there).
Also, another critical way to earn money (and XP) is by having 100 friends and visiting them all every day. Once you’ve hit max FP, you get triple the income from those friend visits that you did before!
Oh, and, yes – the random quests are normal.
I don’t house farm. I get $155 per neighbor house tapped so my cash is OK. I redecorate and move things around between level updates
House farming is clearly the way to go. Get them on 8 or 12 hour cycles so you don’t have to spend every waking moment on shorter tasks. House farms have their own special beauty if you look at them correctly. Don’t be put off by the house-haters. Love the houses both singly and together. Life’s too short to waste any more time than you have to on this game.

I have a neighbor with over 1000 blue houses. It looks interesting but doesn’t leave a lot of room for playing. As a freemium player myself, I had to do something since my bonus isn’t all that high, but I didn’t want to dedicate that much space to houses. I ended up using a few rows on two sides of my area for houses — about 150 blue, a handful of purple and brown, and one each of the rest — and this seems to be a good balance for me. The blue houses reset every 8 hours but I tend to harvest $ from them only twice a day except during intense events. This (along with neighbor visits etc.) generates enough cash that I am now able to purchase cash items as they are released without having to double-down on grinding when new levels come out.

A. DESIGN AND REDESIGN!!
– when i worked my way up to the max level, space and money were always tight. so most of my town was densely packed like an urban environment, with minimal space for extravagantly decorated properties. as i’ve been opening the tiles on the map, i’ve slowly been moving stuff around and expanding existing properties, adding in details i couldn’t or didn’t add before like foliage, fences and gating, lamp posts, benches, parks, etc. note: i have NEVER blown up my entire map and restarted from scratch, nor do i ever plan to.
– i’ve been making a conscious effort to make my town as pedestrian accessible as possible with roads, concrete paths, and alleyways. i’ve found that the best way to avoid having characters walk through water and bushes and other areas they aren’t supposed to is to create plenty of pathways for them to traverse.
– don’t forget to add water tiles. having streams and other bodies of water in your town can really break up the monotony of a landscape. from the get-go i decided that water canals would run throughout my town, and so i have a fully networked canal system (every waterway connects, even if it has to be at a diagonal tunneled beneath roads)… with the exception of where the illusion of 3D must be used, which leads me to my next design recommendation.
– test the waters of 3D design! i dipped my foot in during the clash of clones event, and haven’t looked back. started with a simple hill for my buddhist temple, moved on to parking structures, and began an ambitious project that involves an embankment that cuts across my entire town, creating the illusion of a valley to the right of it. i’m not lying when i say that 3D designing has reinvigorated and enhanced my interest in this game. just get used to lots of hedge and fence work, and the painstaking process of moving each object one by one when something doesn’t line up or you change your mind somewhere along the way…………
– start adding landmarks and facilities for your buildings. convenience stores have gas stations (or vice versa), fast food joints have drive thrus, elementary schools have playgrounds, high schools have athletic fields, penitentiaries have prison yards… it could even be as simple as a parking lot for your grocery store or dmv or whatever. being the sd homer that i am, i built a “Bolt Park” with an expanse of trees in the shape of a lightning bolt, and an island in the middle of my town with the padres SD logo etched in hedges and snapdragons.

A. by definition of what you are asking, the answer is no. house farms are THE way to maximize your in game cash flow, and the larger it is the more money it will make. that being said, you don’t need to have a ridiculously large one to start stacking serious dough. i resisted building one for a long time, because like sandra said, they can be quite the eyesore in one’s town. but once i came up with the aforementioned embankment and valley idea, and with the halloween/xmas events and possible level updates around the corner, i knew i had to do something or i’d be seriously short on cream (get the money, dollar dollar bill ya’ll!). blue and white house farms are your best options, depending on how often you can and want to tap that bitch. i opted for a blue house farm, a 40 x 6 rectangle residing on 30 map tiles in the northern most part of my town. not the prettiest sight, but out of the way and i made it work. think of it as 30 tiles reserved for future development, as eventually one day after opening all tiles and purchasing all aspirational buildings, you won’t need it. 🙂

Yes I got that, about 450MB worth, I actually had to free up some space on my iPad! I’ve been wondering why no one else seems to have noticed, and I can’t see anything new. Just to be clear, I got the level 49 update on the day it came out (I play three or four times a day), so its not that.
I got an update as well! But I was confused too, nothing new popped up..
It took me forever to get enough donuts to buy Arnie Pye and at the last minute, I cracked and got Dr. Nick. Now I’m having “the buyer’s remorse.” I currently have 18 donuts and am climbing my way up.

Hmmm… I’ve been considering getting Dr. Nick… Were you disappointed in him, or just thinking you would have like Arnie even better?
I have both these characters…Nick has the better dialogue of the two, but Arnie has the chopper!! Arnie also has a skin for the stone cutters….if you got it then that is….but apart from his strange laugh he doesn’t really say anything,…whereas Dr Nick does have some funny comments to make….but no helicopter to flit about it in!
Also if your town is heavily decorated with buildings, plants etc, the chopper flying about does tend to cause a bit of lag at times, so not sure if this would cause an issue for visiting neighbours when they drop in.
But I honestly couldn’t tell you which is better…..I prefer Nick because of the dialogue…but I love that chopper! Lol.

Just posted in last Sunday’s thread lol. I get to stay up to watch the Super Bowl live because I don’t have work in the morning. It’s on record just in case, because I’m hopeless at staying up really late. I’m hoping Seattle win again, but to be honest I’m not really a follower all year round so I won’t be too disappointed if they don’t. I just about understand the basic rules and that’s only because the BBC news web site tends to post a guide to the basic rules in the run up to the game.
More than 7 inches of snow already and a blizzard still coming. Needless to say, I’m staying in. Go Seahawks!
Brrrrrrr! You should come to Cozumel, Mexico. 80.6 degrees right now, sunny & bright. We did have a record low temp this year though! 51 degrees. I had to put 3 blankets on the bed….
