Due to POPULAR request….we’ve moving up our open thread time so that our friends outside of the US can participate too! Let’s get the conversation going! Oh and remember…just because this is posted here today doesn’t mean you can’t comment on it all week long. This open thread will still be open for comments long after today is over!
Now…enough rambling from me….it IS Sunday and you know what that means, right? Time for another Open Thread!
Here’s where you can talk about anything you want to talk about…TSTO Related, Simpson’s Related or ANYTHING. Just no Add me requests…those should go here. We’ll give you a few suggestions (like most Sunday’s you can talk about the current episode of the Simpsons) but for the most part you’re free to talk about ANYTHING your little Tapping Fingers desire…just keep it PG.
So…here is your Open Thread. The Superhero Event hit our devices this past week, what are your thoughts on it so far? What do you think will happen when issue 2 hits? The Oscars are tonight, any movies you’re hoping win big? MLB Spring Training is starting up, how do you think your team will do this year?
So chat about the Simpsons, TSTO, Update fun, the Oscars, MLB or anything else you can think of! Can’t wait to chat with you all, you know we LOVE hearing from you!

So, I have a lot of extra superhero crafting items and I have already made all the buildings. Should I make extra? or is it possible that these might be used for something in the next issues or later on? I would hate to waste the extra handcuffs and capes on duplicates when I could use them for something in the future, but if they are just going to disappear, I might as well use them.
Thoughts are welcome.

Right now there’s no indication that there will be crafting during issue 4. However, EA’s keeping the details of Issue 4 under wraps. This is my advice…if you want more buildings and can use them craft them. If not, don’t. Don’t hold onto something waiting for the next issue…enjoy what you’re doing in the moment. 🙂
(PS I REALLY don’t think crafting will have a part in issue 4, but that’s just my opinion)

Hello, I have an issue with the stonecutters earnings. For the 1hr action they make $105 but the 2hr action only makes $110 for some of them. Does anyone have this controversy as well? Who do I contact for this kaka?
Some of the Stonecutters items were brought back and offered for donuts. Due to this, many tasks were impacted that take place at those now PREMIUM locations. Therefor turning regular paying tasks into premium paying. So… you will notice differences.
It’s weird because all the stonecutters make the same amount for the 1hr/8hr/12hr and 24hr tasks but for the 2 and 4hr tasks some make $110 instead of $175 for the 2hr tasks and some make $175 instead of $260 for the 4hr tasks. That’s my issue. That’s all. Lol 🙂 maybe they weren’t programmed in… I dunno, but maybe you can help solve this mystery for me.

It is something we all are seeing and it was impacted right when they dropped them back in as premium. Not quite sure how they factored the amounts, by I for one am not going to point out an error to them that benefits US as players. 😉

There’s a total logic to it… You have to look at two things…. What building the task tasks place in and what character you’re looking at. So, here’s what I understand about how it works… It’s all related to the most recent Stonecutters event, not the original one. If the building or the skin cost donuts to get, any tasks associated with it pay premium (150%) rates. So, for example, because the Lodge cost money and included Number 1 and the Homer skin, any task that takes place in the Lodge pay premium and any task that Homer does in that skin pays premium, regardless of the location. The 2-hour task is in the day care center, which was a freemium building and Krusty’s Stonecutters skin was freemium, so, when he does his 2-hour task in the day care center, it pays regular rates (because both he and the center are freemium), but, when he does his 1-hour task in the Lodge, it pays premium rates, because the Lodge is premium.
Does that help clear up the mystery? I think it’s probably MORE confusing to those who were at the original Stonecutters event than it is if you only did the more recent one, because it’s a lot clear/more memorable as to what’s considered premium vs. freemium in terms of Stonecutters stuff.
How does one acquire multiples of items that are only offered once, such as the Krusyland Shuttle, or Black Holes? And, how can a user place ground based items, such as trees, Squidport only watercrafts in lakes? Are these hacks?

I was playing today visiting my neighbors and one of them had a building never seen before it was brick and glass building with trees inside it. Anyone else ever seen this building

My absolute favorite episode. When Quimby says “May the Force Be With You” to him is so genius. WHen I heard the news, the first thing I thought was, “A Solar Eclipse. The cosmic ballet goes on.” The world is less without Mr. Nimoy.
Have a question that I think should have an easy answer, it just doesn’t seem to work for me. I signed up for Origin through TSTO, but when I go onto the EA site to log into my account, it won’t let me, any suggestions? I can log into TSTO fine, so I know the password, so that isn’t the issue.

Crisis averted. Apparently I was using the wrong password afterall. Got too many passwords for too many different things lol.
So I decided that with all the extra donuts I have made from this event that I would induce labor for Brandine and birth me a Spuckler. To my joy (and surprise), the 10 day old fetus was born healthy and happy at 46 pound. The little champ is already out in the streets making me money! Since Cletus now has another mouth to feed, I have changed his job from Self Medicating to Digging Through Garbage. Time for him to step up and be a real man. I’m not sure how long he can keep it up though, Brandine fell pregnant again without any interaction from him and its bumming him out, all he wants to do is go back to Self Medicating.

Alissa, Bunny, and Wookiee – I just want to thank you guys again for maintaining such a positive, friendly, helpful site. After being yelled at by one of the moderators on EA’s TSTO discussion board for giving inaccurate info, which later turned out to be right, instead receiving an apology, the mod just gave me more snark and innuendo that my sources weren’t necessarily “kosher.” It really made me appreciate you guys, and this site, even more!!
(To be honest, I wasn’t even on the EA site for my own benefit…I was hanging out over there occasionally to try and be of help to other players.)
Awwww that is too bad. We prefer a more “community” feel here. FYI… many of the “mods” over there are just commentors that have succeeded to a specific level. I was offered the option, but I think I will stick to our lil site here. Prefer it. Lol.
I have found myself many times explaining to other “mods” the correct information they should be giving out. I was just yelled at too. Lol. Until I posted a quote directly from the game studio that creates the game.
There are some good ones over there, don’t get me wrong… but it is a lot of people flying blindly too.

Hellow. Newbie player here.
Im at level 14 and still freemium. I have a condition known as ‘collectivitis’ thats sorta like obsessive/compulsive where it impels me to complete any set of collections regardless of what they are.
Anyhow, my question is: even when I joined this late in the game, AND theoretically having an endless supply of donuts….. would it still be possible for me to get all the characters in the character collection screen?
Or are there just characters that are limited edition and out of my grasp forever?

EA does tend to re-release characters after a time, but there is no way to know how long it will take. Some characters have not been re-released since the first time they came out, others have been released again within just a few months of their initial release. Same thing goes for limited-time buildings and decorations.
I’m concerned about this: “AND theoretically having an endless supply of donuts” — Unless you are uber-rich or an employee of EA, an “endless supply” of donuts implies hacking or cheating. I understand not wanting to spend a bank-load of cash on this game, but using means outside of what the game allows to obtain donuts is generally frowned upon in this community. Also, I’m pretty sure the game isn’t nearly as fun for those who do this since it becomes just a waiting game — waiting for each level or event to be released so as to collect the next set of characters, buildings, and decorations. Just my two-cents worth, anyway.

Apologies for the poor choice of words. I should have said ‘enough’ instead of endless. My reasoning then was that since we will always have the option of buying donuts not to mention getting free ones, then we do have an endless supply. Well, unless ofc if EA goes kaput which I hope wont happen. lol
Unless I’m misremembering where I started today, I think I’ve had a GREAT donut-earning day! First, I got 3 bonus rod donuts this morning, followed immediately with 3 full-level-meter donuts. Then tonight, I earned another 3 bonus rod donuts (for which I paid $300k, but who cares), and finished up with getting another 3 (maybe 4?) donuts from visiting neighbors! (I realized that, while I should save my telephone taps for tomorrow after the bonus round tonight, so that they’ll count towards pies instead, there was no reason not to get my criminal taps tonight, since I had already maxed out on rods from them anyway.)
I can see better how folks were getting such quick rod bonus rounds…I think what was slowing me down was that it took a while for my neighbors to catch up….I noticed that I was getting a lot more signals to clear in my town today.
At any rate, I’m ready to start Issue 2!
How many neighbors can I have? I thought it was 100 but, I have 75 and can’t add more.
Watch your pending requests too. Ones to you and ones you sent. That can impact the amounts. Also remember it may be THERE game that is actually too full… not yours.

Do you think they should bring back nighttime Springfield? Obviously, it would make it harder to spot burgulars… but it’s kind of silly how they are sneaking about in broad daylight.
I’m having a blast with this event, last time I enjoyed an event this much was stonecutters. I’m really hoping that they release a friends level increase with super hero costumes. or something that ties in.
Last week when the event hit I had 76 doughnuts, now I have 102. Wait a minute, I have only 2 because I BOUGHT SPIDER PIG! I’m a super happy freemium player right now 😀 😀 😀 didn’t think I’d make it so fast!

Fix the push notification problem. The only way to stop the sound from the game, even when the game is completely closed, is to shut the sound off of my phone. This is completely inappropriate and unacceptable. I’m using an adandroid device. I’ve called for other problems like missing donuts and characters and I figured others were having this problem so I’ll let someone else call on this one. Am I the only one having this problem?
Are you sure your phone doesn’t have a place for you to set notification preferences for individual apps? Both my iPad and my Kindle Fire HD (which is Android-based) do…
I was happily snoozing away, phone on charge, set for alarm, but, connected to WiFi..
I’m sure you can imagine what happened, was about 3am and I reckon I was pretty close to a brown trouser moment 😉
Suffice to say, in Android world I’ve shut notifications off at App level.
I think I’ve lost enough months / years off my life with that first blast!
Omg I absolutely agree! In the app I turned push notifications off because I would be at work where I have to keep my cell volume on and it would blast out a huge alert even with push notification disabled! I literally had to go into my android settings and turn off notifications for this game, which sucks! I wish there was an option of having it just use my regular notification chime i set so I could still receive reminders workout scaring the living daylights out of others! Please fix EA!
On my ANDROID device, I go to Settings \ Apps \ Tapped Out. There is a checkbox for Show notifications — I unchecked that and no longer get middle-of-the-night — or any — notifications, for that matter, from TSTO.
Lol, I woke up the other night at around 2am to my wife’s phone shouting really loud in Homers voice: “Hey, stop what your doing and play with me!”. I thought I was dreaming and forgot about it until I read this comment, is that what your talking about?
It was that first “air raid” siren… all I can remember was smacking my head into the bedside table trying to launch my phone at the nearest wall 😉
