Hey Howdy Hey Tappers!
The Superhero Event is upon us and Springfield has been invaded with Superheros, creeping Criminals & a whole new Comic Book look! In the second Issue of the Superhero Event, action will slow down a bit as Clownface takes over. You’ll see the questline require more prizes in order to progress…but don’t be discouraged. For the lull in the questline doesn’t mean a lull in the action. There’s plenty of Criminals to tap, Felons to clobber & pie, lots and lots of pie!
The Event is broken up into 4 Issues, with each Issue containing part of the Story. To help you along with the story line you’ll get at least 3 prizes per Issue. Each prize will help further move you through the story and uncover what comes next! For Issue 2 you’re tasked with collecting Pie Bombs to unlock each prize! The first Issue 2 prize awarded at 12,000 Pie Bombs is The National Bank of Springfield. Because Super Villains have got to get their gems and cash from somewhere!
So let’s take a closer look at this top notch secure bank (Gil’s in charge of security after all!) and just what happens when you unlock it in your Springfield!
WARNING Mild Dialogue Spoilers Below…
Once you’ve collected 12,000 Pie Bombs you’ll automatically be awarded the National Bank of Springfield and you’ll see this message popup:
Once you’ve won it, it will automatically be placed in your inventory. So remember, you’ll have to go into your inventory to retrieve it and place it in your Springfield.
Once you’ve unlocked the National Bank of Springfield some dialogue will start up immediately between Clownface and Gil…in fact it’s what will continue his questline..

Gil: Oh boy, Gil’s first day on the job as a bank security guard. I got a uniform, and a gun, and no bullets and everything.
Clownface: Hoy-Hoy! This is a bank robbery!
Gil: Hey, you’re that clown from TV! Are you shooting your show right now?!
Clownface: Uhh…sure. That’s it. It’s a sketch called “Laughing All the Way to the Bank” And you got the part of the guard who opens the vault and helps carry out cash and gems to the getaway car.
Gil: Aw geez, this is great! Gil’s big break!

Gil: …That scene was dynamite, but I wonder where all the cameras were? I also wonder when that clown car is coming back with all the cash and gems

What Does it Do?: Nothing much beyond a building in Springfield at this time. It does not earn event currency, nor is there any type of currency exchange involved with it. It’s just a building for Springfield. But the good news is…it’s a Bank. And it’s about time Springfield got a bank!
What’s Next?: 29,000 Pie Bombs and the Collector! Warning you must have Comic Book Guy unlocked to use the Collector. If you don’t have him unlocked in your Springfield the costume will remain in your inventory until you have him. However, you’ll want to unlock it ASAP…so if you’re not quite at CBG, try to unlock him before you get the Collector (or soon after)!

I have the same problem with the bank not being awarded. Rolled over the amount, never got a Pop up, not in my inventory, task updated to “unlock the collector”, but awards screen is greyed out. I collected a few more pies and went back to awards screen. Needed 0 donuts so tried to get it that way and it reset my pie bombs to 12000! Still no bank. Contacted EA who told me they are aware of the issue and working on it….what to do until then? This was two days ago btw…. Still haven’t seen a fix
Contact them back… do NOT let them off the line until they add it into your game. Whether they do it or need someone more qualified to.
My KL is now exchanging tickets for money, happened around 7:00 pm tonight.
My “municipal district” keeps expanding with these larger size buildings, whilst appreciating the extra and I must say very graphically present new constructions they do require inordinate amounts of land for the newbies out there 🙂
Got 1267 pies total, no bank yet! I hit the mark while visiting neighbors,, and now on the quest bar I’m supposed to “get the Collector” but it doesn’t show how many pies I need…
So I uninstalled the game and once I loaded it again; not only I still don’t have the bank, but now “to “unlock” the collector it duos “-15” donuts. Yeoman; negative. I have 110 and when I tried to use them, since the amount is negative I get the “not enough donuts” message :/

What happens to your counts when you collect Pie Bombs? Does the count change at all?

Actually when I collect the Pie Bombs they do add to the number of pie bombs, but the number of donuts “required” increases negatively… for example, when I had 12167 pie bombs I “needed” 5 donuts, but after collecting more pie bombs it went to negative, and then I actually saw it went from “-10” to “-15” when I collected some more.
I play on my kindle so I can’t get a screenie, but as of now, I have 12895 pies and the “get it now” number is -25.

I got what you are saying. We have seen it before in past events. Yours is first report I have seen this one. Just usually the Event Currency is impacted too. I still say to contact EA on this one. They need to see what is causing it and go into your game.
UPDATE: I contacted EA via chat and their customer service agent placed the bank in my inventory… but the trophy screen remains the same as it is on the picture: greyed out bank with the reward banner on top, Collector with the lock and negative donuts on the “get it now”
Keep an eye on it. My Concern is it will impact other Prizes too. Keep on top of them.
Also, the CS rep told me to not worry, that the issue with the piebomb counter should “fix itself soon”.
I hope this fixes before I get enough piebombs to get the Collector, otherwise I guess I’ll have to check out with them again!
(By the way, the current count is 13573 pies… and -35 donut on the “get it now”, so I guess is -10 donuts for every 1000 pies. Totally irrelevant, but I guess it might be interesting to keep track :P)
I think you should hold them to it…if it says -35 donuts now, I think that clearly means that, if you tap that button, they should give you 35 donuts! 😉
UPDATE: Once they did the level 50 update, everything went back to normal

It didn’t take this Tapper long to reach 12,000 Pie Bombs & obtain the 1st National Bank of Springfield (I know the next Prize requires obtaining 20,000 Pie Bombs, so let’s see how long that takes).
This is a fun Event (plenty of Freemiums to satisfy) but I sure hope Tappers get something new for Krustyland soon) 🙂
Got it today and Krusty is doing his task at the bank at the moment.
Anyone else having issues with trading your Krustyland tickets for money? When I go to the Krusty entrance it no longer has the option to exchange. Can we no longer exchange tickets?

Anyone else having trouble with Homer fighting off felons? About 50% of the time, I’m not able to have him complete the task. Instead, it will tell me he’s done with the 4-hr fight but then immediately put him on the same 4-hr fight (without removing a heart and without prompting me/payout).
This has happened quite a few times now and is rather annoying.
That’s a new one. Try basic troubleshooting. Make sure your app market has latest update. If continues…contact EA
I got the bank like 8 hrs ago didn’t get any dialog so I assumed there was nothing else until I unlock the collector eeekkk
Same thing happened to me with fruit bat man. Was homer near the felon when the task reset or was he far away?
My theory is that they are too slow to keep up and therefore not actually “fighting” the felon, so he gets away while keeping his heart
Mine separate. But I still get the heart and complete the task.
I found that I need to wait until the felon and ‘fighter’ meet up before exiting or they won’t actually start the countdown until I log back in. So if they aren’t near each other just make sure they start counting before leaving. This happens with Homer, Fallout Boy or Plopper.

Unfortunately, in an effort to avoid spoilers, I didn’t read this post until after I got the bank, and I assumed it would start/continue a questline of some kind right away, so I put off sending some core characters on tasks for the night, not realizing the bank would take 4 hours to build and not really need anyone for now. Oh well…time to go put the rest of the folks to work now!
Oh, and YAY! for finally getting another freemium building that adds to Consumerism!!

Great info as usual! And extra thanks on the CBG pointer. I just started part 1 on the Dungeon Keeper line, so I should finish pt 2 and get CBG about the same time I get the Collector, as long as I still have the bucks to build the comic book store when it starts (so no, I can’t buy the Kwik-E-Mart right now to up my C meter, but the bank will help here, anyway).
Got the bank this morning, now Clownface is robbing it 😉
One question: I’ve read many comments about an App Store update that apparently hit today. Did anyone here NOT receive this update? Cause I see nothing new for me.
I mean, I know by the comments that the update didn’t bring anything new, it was just bug fixes… Just wanted to know if there’s someone else who didn’t receive the update.
It hit last night, and if your device is set to auto update, you would not even notice.
No, it’s not set to auto update, I always have to go to my App Store to update TSTO myself… Very odd.
It was an Android store update, not an iOS update; at least for me 🙂

For me, the update only shows up on Android but not iOS.
It forced me to update from playstore
So get the Android’s Dungeon down at least 24 hrs. before you unlock the Collector. That way you get the build out of the way and don’t lose event time using him. Correct?

Sorry if I missed this but there is not build time for the bank, right? You just have to place it once its in your inventory, correct?
Just saw the 4 hr build time in the post. I think its great that for this event you dont have to wait long to get things rollin.

I just realised that building the bank has meant that I’ve now achieved 5 stars for consumerism (with only 2 Kwik-E-Marts!) 🙂

This is such an awesome event, and loads of fun. I actually just got asked to update the game again when I turned on the game, any idea what that was about?
Bug/glitch fix hit the app stores yesterday…so it’s just asking you to update to the latest version. Nothing visually changes 🙂
Odd bug fix. Usually, they are just in-game updates — this one forced me to do an app-store update when I started today.
