Due to POPULAR request….we’ve moving up our open thread time so that our friends outside of the US can participate too! Let’s get the conversation going! Oh and remember…just because this is posted here today doesn’t mean you can’t comment on it all week long. This open thread will still be open for comments long after today is over!
Now…enough rambling from me….it IS Sunday and you know what that means, right? Time for another Open Thread!
Here’s where you can talk about anything you want to talk about…TSTO Related, Simpson’s Related or ANYTHING. Just no Add me requests…those should go here. We’ll give you a few suggestions (like most Sunday’s you can talk about the current episode of the Simpsons) but for the most part you’re free to talk about ANYTHING your little Tapping Fingers desire…just keep it PG.
So…here is your Open Thread. The Simpsons are all new tonight, what will happen in the new episode? The Superhero Event Issue 2 hit our devices this past week, what are your thoughts on it so far? What have you won so far? What do you think will happen when issue 3 hits? March is here…who else is ready for Spring?!

Not sure if this is a glitch with my TSTO, but sometimes when I go into a neighbor’s Springfield, Sideshow Bob will show up, but there is no notification that he is there, or to find him. Unless I’m totally missing something and it only notifies when he is in your own Springfield, I swear it notified me in friend’s towns before also.
It happens. Dunno why…but it does.

Some times for me after the notification the screen centres on Bob, other times it doesn’t. This seems to be random to me, I can’t see any pattern. I never used to worry about finding him if it didn’t centre on him until a few months ago when I got a notification out of game that a neighbour had caught him in my town, ever since then I have hunted him down. Sometimes I too find him by accident without a notification.
I have found that if the notification comes up and Bob is not seen, I immediately back up one neighbor and then go forward back to the neighbor with the Bob and he centers for me.
Email this to ra because I don’t have an email account. They should make the next major event is a classic media event. Like the current event, there are stuff you collect to earn prizes. Instead there are 3 categories- film,s, tapes, and records. It also brings back all episode tie ins from before the update and puts them in the game for a limited time. They give out new prizes so older tappers don’t get bummed out. Also, where is the suggestions thread? Please email it!

I am now on to my 4th round of bonus donuts. So hopefully the bonus donuts will make up for not getting any from neighbours because of the new friendship prizes.
On a really happy note, I finally got my car back today. 5 weeks after I dropped it off at the repair garage and it’s now repaired. Although I’m very happy to have it back, I have adjusted to my hire car so my usual car feels very heavy and strange to drive. Give it time and I’ll get used to it again. It definitely needs a mechanical service though and some longer distance driving done. I think it’s barely moved in the 5 weeks since I last drove it.
A little late to the party with this, and my apologies if it has already been covered, but do we have to complete the Collector’s tasks of building the Zenith City items BEFORE we can move on to the next issue on March 10? Been saving up for the Zenith Times and I’ve unlocked Dr. Colossus, but I haven’t built any of the other Zenith items yet. Thanks!
It does not look like it, but until it hits… we can not say 100%.
Surprised this hasn’t been mentioned (or maybe it has) but think there’s any chance of getting the option of making the Springfield Gorge? I think that’s what it was called, the one Homer and Bart jumped over on the skateboard.
I remember Bunny recently posting about a trick on how to get three donuts on the first try with every pie bomb bonus round. When I got Dr Colossus last Friday I tried it and three times in a row it worked perfectly! But after that it didn’t anymore, I’ve gotten two, mostly one donut only since then… Doesn’t the trick work anymore or am I doing something wrong?
Like, is there a particular moment where I have to start pressing the right box? For example at the beginning of each “cycle” of the lights? Or a particular point where I have to stop pressing when the lights meet up at the top? I have noticed that it takes a very short moment from them meeting up to the cycle starting over again. Do I have to let go immediately or hold on for a split second when they meet?
I know this description might sound weird, but I had it working and now it doesn’t and I feel like I’m wasting donuts because I’m suddenly doing something wrong… Thanks for any help and once again kudos, this site is pure gold for any tapper! 🙂
It really is about timing. I only stumbled on it by mistake as I was fascinated by the lil lights and watching the animation and forget to let go of the box I was tapping on. It won’t always work, but out of the times it has for me, it really paid off. 😉
For me… it is the split second just before they touch at the top.
Oh, okay, maybe I’m letting go a tiny bit too late… The last few times I waited almost until the cycle started over, so that maybe the problem. I’ll try your technique next time. And thanks so much for answering weird questions like this! I guess, wondering about how to properly tap a virtual donut box must make me an Addict, too… ^^
