So…here is your Open Thread. It’s Easter! Did the Easter Bunny bring you anything good? No new Simpsons tonight, but TSTO saw a fun little Easter update this week. Are you enjoying the new update? The final 2 are decided for the NCAA Men’s Championship, who do you think will win Duke or Wisconsin? MLB Opening Night is tonight…FINALLY! Will you be watching Sunday Night Baseball tonight?

There’s always been a maximum limit – nothing new there.
I know I saw a thread on here once that broke down the exact cost/XP/Conformo points for the tree hugging. Does anyone have a link to that? It’s not the tabbed one from above or the Lisa post, I think a member did it. Tree-Hugging has me backed up right now.

Thanks, I know there is this one, but a member did a breakdown of which item had the best CP per dollar and that is what I was looking for. Not sure if anyone has a link to that.

How often does one get donuts from Sideshow You balloon game? Is it random or fixed (ie. once every 300 balloons)? Thanks!
Random anytime, but if you go 299 times without hitting the 5… then on 300th it will appear.
When you get the 5 donuts on the 300th balloon, is there any sort of notification or are they simply added? I recently noticed I had 5 donuts more than I should have had and figured they must have come from Sideshow You since I had never won any before…
You see the amount show up in the Balloon Pop. Just the same as you see the ticket count show up under the Balloon you just Popped.
That’s a bit weird then because I didn’t see any donuts there… Well, maybe I just missed it, I’ll have to pay more attention when playing Sideshow You, I guess… Thanks for the info! 🙂
@Bud2046 — Winning the donuts is kinda anti-climatic. When you win tickets, there’s a tiny little ticket image and a number. When you win donuts, there’s a tiny little donut and the number 5. No special sound. The color of the number is more pink, but it’s not a lot different. It would be easy to miss, assuming that it was 5 tickets.
Also, if your FP is maxed out, it would have been easy to miss a few random donuts while visiting neighbors. Sometimes those little donuts hide behind the money and the XP that pops out of your neighbors’ buildings.

Finally, finally, finally!!! I finally got my Sideshow You donuts! I’m convinced that there was a glitch when I should have gotten them last time and I therefore had to wait 600 taps instead of 300. But at least I finally got them! 😀

Playbuzz got it right – I’m Lisa (except the vegetarian thing)! 🙂
The way it works is you can give each character a score of 0, 1 or 2 for each answer. So even if you had answered “Meat. Lots of meat” there’s no way for me to stop you getting Lisa – if you answer the other stuff only slightly ‘her way’.
A score of 1 to 10 would be better for highlighting any extremes, but would probably make the final calculation too complex.

Hmmm, I’m not Homer! Prefer the “Simpsons Meyer-Briggs” (sorry SW… not trying to detriment the work you put in 😉 if you Google this it gives a personality profile 🙂 I used this as a teacher for an ice-breaker in the first session or so, also gave me insight on the “Bart”s of the class 🙂
Nah, no “work” put in, just fun! There were too many limitations to do the job I wanted, but it was fun and easy. Maybe one day I’ll dig out some software that lets me do it as I wanted. Or I could learn to program…. Hmmm, nah, sounds too much like hard work 😉
The Meyers-Briggs one gave me Sideshow Bob. Hmmmm – does that make me a sociopath?
One of my limitations was being limited to 8 characters. With a M/F split it only gave me 4 of each. That’s pretty limiting when you think of all the personality types…
Trust me SW mate, don’t learn to code unless you really need to. I began kinda when coding began, and it’s kinda like psychology, you start “seeing the matrix” on every website / app / game / os / etc, etc, etc…

I was kidding in the biggest way imaginable! They tried to teach me Pascal at uni, I’m told that’s one of the easier languages to learn but I was just rubbish at it.
I can often spot flaws in someone else’s code, but to write my own? Forgeddabardit!

Swiss – I don’t think you need to limit folks to only being characters that match their own gender… I’m sure there are plenty of people who are most like a character that may be of a different gender… I’ve certainly known some guys who are “Lisa”s and some gals who are “Bart”s.
(Oh, and my vegetarian comment wasn’t related to the options in your game – more to just a general statement about something that Lisa and I don’t have in common.)

Ok, I’ll probably cop flack for this, but I really don’t understand the “more land” issue… is this mainly a premium challenge?
I really would love some more land, I would even spend up too 200 donuts per block if they made it premium. Everytime we get new buildings I have to rearrange things and remove decorations to make them fit, it’s a huge hassle.
With my previous renovations I left two small areas free for future expansion, one has now been taken up by the new stuff today. If we get anymore buildings my second area (where my lemon tree is) will be gone and I will be at 100% capacity. Without more land I would then need to remove some buildings to make others fit and I really don’t want to do this :(. You can see my town, I don’t think I am wasting any space, things are cramped enough as it is…
Your definitely not wasting space Jebus! I must admit I do and have always taken a bit of a minimalist-sim-city approach to my lil’ Springfield, and haven’t really delved into the 3D design too much.
My neighbourinos have probably noticed blank bits of land here and there, pre-emptively before getting content sometimes, and I must admit after big events like COC (Ok, even I’ll admit I went a bit overboard on my castles, and STILL NOT HAPPY, er, yeah, echem 😉 or even Christmas / Easter that things get a bit cramped before stretching the creative muscle.
I also don’t “house farm”, at least not for my benefit (I leave my brown houses tappable for friends) and try to limit the roads, and I think I’ve only purchased ~% 60 of available land.
No criticism is intended on any player, each to their own with regards to placement and layout!
200 donuts per block? Wow, that’s a huge amount! Don’t be putting ideas like that into EA’s head! I’m getting a cold sweat just thinking about that 😉
My land is fairly full and while I’ve bought a couple of premium characters, I haven’t bought loads.
I’ve got room for more buildings with minimal rearranging but I’m quite new to the game so can easily see that players who’ve been playing for ages and who buy lots of premium stuff would be struggling for space.
Maybe it’s a design thing too, some of those 3D designs take up heaps of space.
Woot Woot! — First time I ever found out that there was a new level from this site, instead of from the game. I was on earlier and everything was fine. Then put my tablet on the charger and was reading through older comments here in the open thread, and got to the top — new level what? Oh, OK! 🙂

Me too, I read the email just as I was leaving for work (overslept) and then updated and played a little whilst driving there. Normally I don’t use my phone while driving, huge fines and cops everywhere but this is TSTO, I have my priorities ;). Finding this site was the best thing I ever did.

Why is it that so. We buildings come with characters but the menu doesn’t show it? For example Businessman’s social club with Fat Tony..
BTW! Since the event I’ve been on a bit of a tight cash struggle but I rate I’ve got an awesome design for my little ‘Zenith City’ and I just need to buy a few more land pieces. Won’t make the deadline though.. So will there be any way for me to still have it shown off after?
