Math Of Earning Act One

Hey there Mischeif Makers!!

Those sneaky lil Terwilliger’s have invaded our silly lil game similar to the fashion they sneak into the Simpsons TV Series. But I bet all this information, numbers, calculations, and need for items has got your head spinning? No worries, we are here to help as usual. Let’s hop on in, shall we?

Sideshow Bob Icon

To begin, all the information is very similar as in past events. The more time you spend in your game, the more chances you have at Spades Earning Actions. The more Neighbors you visit daily, along with you just playing daily… will all contribute to YOUR individual results.

LEVEL UP MONSARNO

ico_terwilligers_upgrade_fertilizer

First up, the main focus you will need to set your sights on is getting Monsarno to Level 3 so you can fully utilize your Neighbors Visits (more on that in another post). Now Alissa has a VERY detailed post on this right HERE. Make sure to take a look at it. Let’s do a lil shorter Version.

Once you get to Cecil’s Redemption Part 3, you can build the Monsarno Research Facility. This will take 8 hrs. Once completed, you will start on Level 1 of Monsarno. Level 2 will require you to earn AND use 150 Fertilizer & 25 Corn. Level 3 will require 300 Fertilizer & 50 Corn. So in total, you will need 450 Fertilizer & 75 Corn to start the questline Chaos She-ory that will lead into unlocking your Neighbor visits. More on the MAIN questline HERE.

Let’s Focus on what you need now to get 450 Fertilizer & 25 Corn to be Upgrade Monsarno to Level 3.

Level 1 Monsarno/Need 150 Fertilizer & 25 Corn to Upgrade
Send all possible Characters available to earn Fertilizer

Group Task Time Material
Dimwit Make a Donation to Science 8hrs 9 Fertilizerico_terwilligers_fertilizer_lg
Dimwits
Barbarian, Barney, Chester Dupree, Cletus, Dr. Nick, Duffman, Grampa, Homer, Lenny, Otto, Ralph, Sea Captian, Wiggum, Wolf Castle

14 Possible, but most of you may only have about 7. 7 Dimwits x 9 Fertilizer = 63 Fertilizer. Repeat the task twice, 63 x 2 =126. So possibly 126 Fertilizer in one day minimum.ico_terwilligers_fertilizer_lg

You will also have Cecil’s Daily Tasks. Finishing them ALL in one day will give you at least 75 Fertilizer & 150 Corn in one day.

Day 1: Possibility of 201 Fertilizerico_terwilligers_fertilizer_lg & 150 Cornico_terwilligers_corn_lg. Upgrade to Level 2

===

Level 2 Monsarno/ Need 300 Fertilizer & 50 Corn
At Level 2, you will have another task unlock. Send all possible Characters to get some Corn.

Group Task Time Material
Glutton Help Feed Hunger 16hrs 9 Cornico_terwilligers_corn_lg
Gluttons
Barney, Comic Book Guy, Homer, Quimby, Space Mutant, Wiggum

6 possible, most will have about 4. 4 Gluttons x 9 Corn = 36 Corn. So possible 36 Corn in one day.ico_terwilligers_corn_lg

Add to that again Cecil’s Daily Tasks and 75 Fertilizer & 150 Corn in one day.

Plus at least 7 Dimwits again for 126 Fertilizer in one day.

Day 2: Possibility of 201 Fertilizerico_terwilligers_fertilizer_lg & 186 Corn Totalico_terwilligers_corn_lg

As you can see, within 3 days or less you will be to the point of Upgrading your Monsarno to Level 3. This is with VERY limited participation. Add in extra Characters or pushing to try and squeeze in 3 8hr task and the overlap of the constant 16hr tasks, you will be adding to your totals really quickly in no time. Just keep sending them over and over throughout the Event.

Now for the Main Math of Act One…

MATERIALS FROM MUTANT VEGGIES IN YOUR TOWN

Once you Upgrade to Level 3 in Monsarno (and completed Scientophagy Pt. 3, which Homer triggers.  Again main questline is here), Lisa will start Chaos She-ory Part 1. This will unlock the ability for you to start to get the Mutant Vegetables wandering your town. Tapping on them will help you gain much needed Materials for the Event.

mutantplant02_idle mutantplant03_idle mutantplant01_menu mutantplant01_idleMutant Veggies

Spawn at least 1 every 10 mins
40 MAX in your town at one time

There is NO Bank on this one, so once you reach MAX no more will spawn till you clear some out and wait another 10 mins for more to come. So roughly under 7 hours (if only 1 spawns at a time, still looking into it) you are looking at hitting your MAX of 40.

Full of Mutant Vegatables Springfield

They roam all over town and will hide behind Buildings and Decorations. So use your “Movement Menu” to shut down all the items but Characters, then scan your town to see if you can locate any hidden.

Hidden Mutant Veggies 2

Mutant Veggies Payout (there are 4 different ones, and so far I have seen no real pattern of one paying out better than the others).

Plus ONE out of the Following…

ico_terwilligers_corn_lgCorn 4
ico_terwilligers_fertilizer_lgFertilizer 4
ico_terwilligers_mutantseeds_lgMutant Seedling 1

As for your 2nd item… the Corn, Fertilizer, and Mutant Seeds… the Corn & Fertilizer seemed more common. The Mutant Seeds more rare. So these totals will vary by each player, but will add some much needed Materials to your list as well as earn you MORE by giving you Mutant Seeds to drop into your Neighbors.

I want to say I average the following Daily, YOUR results will vary though.
40+ Corn
60+ Fertilizer
6+ Mutant Seeds

So let’s figure out a few scenarios to see just what the Mutant Seeds can earn for you in Spades…

Visit Time Mutant Veggies Spadesico_terwilligers_spades_lg
Every 2 hrs 12 84
Every 4 hrs 24 168
Every 6 hrs 36 252

Then we will figure a middle ground, how many Spades can you get if you Visit your town every 4 hrs?

Times A Day Spadesico_terwilligers_spades_lg
2 336
3 504
4 672
5 840

Visiting your town to squash Mutant Veggies every 4 hours a day, at least 5 times a day will give you 840 Spades Total A Day

So clear them all when you see them to get as many Spades as you can. Mutan Vegetables Cleared

MATERIALS FROM MUTANT SEEDLINGS IN YOUR TOWN

ico_terwilligers_mutantseedlingupdate Mutant Seedling

MAX of 10 in your town at a time

Once you have Upgraded to Level 3 in Monsarno, you will be directed in Chaos She-ory Part 2 to Visit your Neighbors and learn about dropping off the Mutant Seeds you collect. You may have already seen some of these guys bouncing round your town from a Neighbor already at this point. It is beneficial to BOTH of you to tap them as soon as you see them. If you wait too long, ONLY your Neighbor will benefit from leaving them there.

If you squish the Mutant Seedling BEFORE 4hrs, both You & Your Neighbor that left it will get ONE of the following Material Breakdowns…

ONE of the following

ico_terwilligers_corn_lgCorn 8
ico_terwilligers_fertilizer_lgFertilizer 8

OR

If you do NOT squish the Mutant Seedling within 4 hours and they disappear for good, ONLY Your Neighbor will get ONE of the following Materials Breakdowns…

and YOU GET NOTHING.

In other words SQUISH THEM. This way you both get something from the drop. As far as WHAT you might get, the Spades tend to be Rare and the Corn & Fertilizer more Common.

These guys usually first appear in the Sidewalk or Boardwalks of Springfield, but will quickly bounce off. Just like Sideshow Bob, they will disappear into Buildings and Decorations. So get them while you can. Mutant Seedlings Harvested Corn Fertilizer Spade

You will also know how many YOU have left by the counts in lower Left Corner of the Neighbor Screen.

SPADES FROM MONSARNO RESEARCH

monsarnohumanresources

Once you get to Cecil’s Redemption Part 3, you can build the Monsarno Research Facility. This will take 8 hrs. Once completed, earning off of the Monsarno Research Facility. The Payout is 120 Spades every 8hrs. So just visiting twice a day and collecting Rent on Monsarno Research will give you 240 Spadesico_terwilligers_spades_lg Total Daily

SPADES FROM QUESTLINESCecil's Redemption Part 3

Starting at Cecil’s Redemption Part 3, you will be Rewarded 100 Spadesico_terwilligers_spades_lg upon Completion of the Main Questline Parts. So finish them to help you hit your goals faster.

SPADES FROM RANDOM CHARACTER TASKS

sidebar_currencyjob

Shortly after Chaos She-ory Part 2 and Neighbor Visiting, you will start to see some Random Character Group Tasks trigger in the game (like the ones below). They will show up in your task menu as the Icon Image above. These are REALLY beneficial to you. Not only do they help you get used to what items each Character can drop, but they also Reward you with 100 Spades ico_terwilligers_spades_lg upon Completion. So try to do as many of them as you can each day.

Random Daily Group Tasks

MATERIALS FROM CHARACTER TASKS

Depending on where you are in the game, and what Level your Monsarno Research is on… there will be MANY options of Tasks to help you earn Corn & Fertilizer. I will go into these in a LOT more details in another post. But to give you a rough idea, here are the basics…

Group Unlock Task Time Material
Dimwits Level 1 Make a Donation to Science 8hrs 9 Fertilizerico_terwilligers_fertilizer_lg
Gluttons Level 2 Help Feed Hunger 16hrs 9 Cornico_terwilligers_corn_lg
Pessimists Level 3 Conclude It’s All Pointless 4hrs 5 Fertilizerico_terwilligers_fertilizer_lg
Youngsters Level 4 Eat Too Much Candy Corn 8hrs 5 Cornico_terwilligers_corn_lg
Seniors Level 5 Don’t Care About the Future 2hrs 3 Fertilizerico_terwilligers_fertilizer_lg
Criminals Level 6 Be Sold to a Private Company 4hrs 3 Cornico_terwilligers_corn_lg

Now you have a basic idea of how to get Materials from just playing daily, let’s look at how having Neighbors will help you in this event.

Neighbor Icon

SPADES FROM NEIGHBORS

The Mutant Veggies are pretty much replacing the Building taps in your Neighbors towns. So you will now be tapping them to get payouts for FP, XP, $, and Game Currency. In this case, Spades. So what will you get by tapping on through your Neighbors?

ico_terwilligers_spades_lg1 Spade Per Mutant Veggies mutantplant02_idle mutantplant03_idle mutantplant01_menu mutantplant01_idle

MAX of 3 Mutant Veggies per Neighbor per 24 hours

90 Mutant Veggies Total/ Daily Actions per 24hrs

So if you visit several of your Neighbors Daily, you can get an extra 90 Spadesico_terwilligers_spades_lgDaily.

donut-loadingBut do NOT stop there. Remember, if you are MAX on your FP you have that possibility of FREE DONUTS from tapping through Neighbors every day. So hit them all. It can add up fast.

SPADES FROM FARMING LICENSE

ico_stor_terwilligers_farminglicense

If you want to spend some of your Donuts to help you in getting MORE Spade from you 90 Daily Neighbor Actions, then invest in the Farming License. The Farming License will double ONLY your 90 Daily Neighbor Actions tapping Mutant Veggies. So with the purchase, you can get 180 Spadesico_terwilligers_spades_lg Daily.

As you can see there are MANY ways of getting the Materials you will need to progress through this event. The Spades, there really is a lot of ways to hit the daily Targets. Just remember, slow at first… then it will increase fast once you get Visiting and Spawning Mutants.

Where are YOU on the Spades count? What items have YOU won so far from the Personal Prizes? Level Monsarno yet to 3? Did this help you out to not worry so much? Let us know.

  1. Hi, is there a glitch or something where’d the mutant veggies don’t spawn in your town? Went to bed and logged on this morning, about 7-8 hours from before and there were no mutant veggies to squish in my town. Is that right?

    • Do you mean Bob Clones? Cause Mutant Veggies haven’t spawned since Act 2 started.

If you mean Bob Clones, try hard closing your device before you to go bed. For the players that’s happened to that has worked.

  2. It keeps making me do the same tasks at re research center….I’ve done them all over and over, it’s getting tedious

  3. Nowhere near enough fertilizer to get the Farmer’s Market…

  4. marlboromanmat

    Hey fellow tappers,
Is there any way to increase the number of mutant seedlings that we are able to drop in neighbours towns?
I seem to be only getting 5 or 6 a day, and I feel like I’m going wrong somewhere.
    Thanks for your all help.

  5. I feel like my spade earning had slowed down or something… I’m still ahead of the calendar, but only by about a day and a half, and I see other freemium players who have already earned their plant NPC, while I still have over 3,000 spades to go yet. (I don’t really care about the NPC, which I’m sure I’ll get, but I was really hoping for the opportunity to get bonuts.) I’ve maxed out Monsarno, I visit all of my neighbors every day, and I do all of the “red box” tasks, so I’m not site if there’s much else I can do (other than to come here and whine about it 😉 ).

    • lol we’re here to listen to the whining (to an extent 😉 )

Those last 3k will go fast. I was there yesterday and just from playing yesterday I unlocked the Mutant Pet plant this morning. It’ll add up quick, just keep doing what you’re doing 🙂

    • Sandra, my trick of staggering the characters is earning me well over 3000 spades per day. If you feel you’re slowing down too much, just try it for a couple of days and see how you get on. Stick with it though, cos the real benefits come in late afternoon and evening.

Basically, count your characters in each group – count them only in one group! Divide the length of task time by the number of characters for each group and send them off in those intervals.
So, I have 5 gluttons – doing a 16hr task. They get sent, 1 at a time, every 3 hours. I have 15 youngsters doing an 8hr task, they get sent, 1 at a time, every 30 mins, etc. etc.

Obviously you can’t do that all through the day, with every group, you’d be doing it constantly. But that’s just the best-case scenario. At least do the calculation so you have an idea in your head of how frequently to send them.
The gluttons are perhaps the most important because a) there are fewer of them and b) their task is the longest. If you get caught with a 12hr wait for your red box to pay out, most of the benefits go down the drain.
Build a spreadsheet to help you – it doesn’t take long. An extract of mine looks something like this:

      20:20 S4 Mr Burns 2
      20:30 P7 Mrs. Krabappel 4
      20:30 S5 Brockman 2
      20:40 P8 Rev Lovejoy 4
      20:40 S6 Hans Moleman 2
      20:45 Y14 Todd 8
      20:50 D9 Sea Captain 8
      20:50 S7 Chalmers 2
      20:55 G3 Comic Book Guy 16
      21:00 S8 Grampa 2
      21:00 C3 Legs 4

It helps with getting back on track after you’ve had a spell away from the game. (The 2nd column is just a letter indicating the group, and a number indicating which member of that group – cos the name might change!)

It’s a lot of work, but it’ll earn you donuts!

Sorry for the long post. But it aint an easy concept to explain concisely. 😀

      • Thanks for taking the time to type (or tap) all of that out for me…very thoughtful! Unfortunately, I’m too stressed out right now trying to get ready for a long weekend away at a folk festival this weekend to even *think* about trying to deal with that, but maybe I’ll give it a go for whatever the currency is for Act 2. 🙂

      • Hee hee Sandra,
Yes, i typed it in reply to one of your messages, but it’s something I’d been thinking of posting publicly for a while. I don’t suppose anybody’s interested, but at least now it’s out there for anybody to borrow (or improve upon) if they so wish, and for me to refer to if the topic comes up again.

  6. *****

  7. How do I get to Act 2? I have the upgrade symbol over Monsarno like the other person, but when I click upgrade, it tells me I have to start Act 2. Do I need to finish getting the mutant pet plant?

  8. After getting up to Level 7, for the moment, let’s pretend we don’t care about getting the Mutant Plant. Think you might be willing to squeeze in another “math” post to cover the Springfield Farmer’s Market?

    • Working on a crafting post. But to do a math post is pretty difficult. As it’s dependent on how many characters you have and which prizes you want. So there’s really no cut and dry way to do it. Because people like me who are at level 51 and have every character and premium character are at an advantage over people who are only at level 10. So to say this math works like we do for the event currency, it’s pretty difficult as the math isn’t the same for every player.

      • Alissa,

I understand the issues with doing a post for everything based on the number of possibilities required. However, there is a reason I was requesting it. Let’s assume that I’m an average user, best case scenario.

        Level 51. Freemium Player.
Some, but not all premium characters (49 that are able to earn either corn or fertilizer)

Using the numbers in this post as a tentative guide, I assume I could theoretically earn about 434 Fertilizer a day and 285 corn.

With a little over 6 days left, I’ve got 2,729 fertilizer and 1,850 corn.

That means in order to get the Farmer’s Market, I’d need 12,521 (or 2,086 a day) Fertilizer & 2750 (or 458 a day) corn.

This is mathematically impossible. I can’t imagine how frustrating this will be for newer players of the game. And if we wanted to spend 388 donuts, probably the most expensive item I’ve seen so far. Did EA even try to do the math ahead of time?

  9. Does the math on this event add up? Even with my Monsarno at level 7 (using some sprinklies to speed this up), visiting my 100 friends daily, bashing mutant corn like mad, and grinding away with characters on task I still only have 4620 bags of fertiliser. I can’t see any way I will have the 28,000 I need to craft all three prizes on offer this act. Or will these prizes carry over into the next act(s)?

  10. Is there a reason my spawn rate would go down? I only had 1 plant in the last four hours. Is that happening to anyone else?

  11. Quick question, I am at Monsarno Level 7 and have been for a day. Now the upgrade symbol reappeared on my building but when I click to upgrade it tells me to wait till the next phase. Just a glitch on my game or a known glitch?
