FYI… If you did NOT complete a task from the prior day, it rolls over to be the FIRST task of the next day. You will lose the higher payout. So finish them BEFORE the reset or you will have it become the next day’s task.

Yeah glad to see everyone else saying how awful the daily tasks are. Unless you wake up at midnight you can forget about it. Hopefully EA times them down a bit.
Do we have any idea why some characters are being ignored for tasks, like Mrs. Bouvier for the Senior currency task? Did EA just decide not to update these characters to work with this event?
Great coverage on this event so far! I think it would be helpful to have a post with all the groups and the characters in each of them. Working off the old Stonecutters one isn’t too encompassing with the new additions of characters.

The pace of this event is glacial!! The idea is fun but the process of earning currency is so grueling it feels punitive to freemium players. Such a bummer after how great the pacing was in the super hero event. Anyhoo, just venting.
Yeah, the daily tasks are cutting it close. I’m on the last 6 task and I’m done at 10 PM so hopefully we don’t have to wake up at 12:01 AM to make tomorrows task!!!
I think the key to this event is for me to give up my job and concentrate solely on TSTO … who needs money anyway!
Not happy with the amount/length of tasks. . .I was hoping this would be fun like the Christmas or Agent episode, but I can’t tap at work. Guess I won’t try too hard
So today’s daily tasks equal 16 hrs – that seems a bit extreme since you only have 24 hours to complete them. I have to admit I am not impressed with this new event. There seems to be a million things to do but its so slow to start. I hope it picks up once the plants arrive in my town. Thanks for the great tips though!
I don’t think I’ll be able to finish today’s tasks. I went to collect my 3rd task and there is a game update. Since I have a job, that means it’s downloading oodles of MB of data over a cell signal that my phone barely gets. It’s been at it for over an hour now and still barely made a dent in the data it needs to download. Not impressed with EA breaking my game all the time like this mid event.
Not happy. If I don’t finish my task it will roll over is that correct?
I am on the 4th part and it’s the 6hr task which means it doesn’t finosh until just after 12. Does that mean I won’t get new tasks tomorrow or I won’t be awarded for the 4th part of the daily?
Think today’s daily of 16 hrs is too long…..boohoo 🙁
I sent my first task just after 8 this morning so automatically I can’t complete before 12 unless I use donuts….
You won’t be awarded part 4 payout. On the plus side part 1 will be done for you automatically when the new day rolls over.
Oh right. Thanks for clearing that up no point in using donuts to finish it then?? Do you think my tasks will run out of sync now to yours?

Most likely tomorrow they will, but they should be back on track sunday if you complete them all tomorrow.
FYI, if your characters are busy you can always store the building associated with a character and re-place it to free up the character without using donuts (e.g., store Krusty Burger and re-place it to have Krusty free). Alternatively, if you store (and re-place) a building (e.g., Brown House) any characters inside of it will become available. Doing either of these will reset the payout timer on that building and cancel the jobs of all characters in it (also crops for farm, shows for TV / radio, etc.), so keep that in mind.
Since Cecil will tell you which characters can be used for the task it is really easy to free up one and set them on his task.
I had been playing for months before I knew that was an option, so I thought some players might find it useful. 🙂

Thanks v much – this was so useful. I’ve not been using doughnuts, but not been deploying anyone in tasks in case they are needed so have been losing my daily cash trawl!

I seem to have a glitch, in my event menu it says “Send a kook” do to a task, and that has 45 minutes left, but on my taskbar it has a red box and a different quest, with 2:45 minutes left. Anyone else having this issue?
The red box isn’t the daily task. The red box icon is just a task to remind you to send characters to earn stuff. The benefit is you’ll earn 100 Spades each time you complete it. Bunny broke it down on the math rundown post, towards the bottom of the post

How are you seeing all the tasks when the day starts?
Or are you just listing the tasks from the previous day?
These are the new tasks for today. We run through them in our game and speed them up with donuts to see what they are once it hits midnight on the east coast.
I wish I had enough donuts to do it here in the UK for you. Then you’d know about it before your day even started. Ho hum.
This guide is really useful, it’s helpful to know that I only need five characters for the daily tasks. I’m a little behind in this event now, only 1780 spades.
