Hey Howdy Hey Tappers!
It’s Harvest Time in Springfield and the Terwilliger’s have returned to Springfield to unleash Mutant Vegetables on us! In the First Act of the Terwilliger Event you’ll unlock Cecil Terwilliger, Monsarno Research & help Lisa free the Mutant Veggies all over Springfield!
This Event is broken up into 3 Acts, with each Act containing part of the story. To help you move along with the event you’ll get several prizes per Act. Each prize will either be something fun for Springfield or something to help you move along in the event. For the first Act you’re tasked with collecting Spades/Trowels/Shovels…these things 
to unlock each prize! The final Act 1 prize awarded at 16,050 is the Pet Mutant Plant, a new character for your Springfield.
So let’s take a closer look at this Pet Mutant and just what happens when you unlock it in your Springfield and if you really should just smoke it.
Once you’ve collected 16,050 you’ll automatically be awarded the Pet Mutant Plant and you’ll see this message popup:
You’ll have the ability to place it in your Springfield immediately or place it in inventory for later (store). If you store it, remember you’ll have to go into your inventory to retrieve it.
Once placed in Springfield you’ll see the character unlock screen appear…
The Pet Mutant Plant is all alone in the Mutant Character Collection (on the plus side you’ll earn the completion bonus right away!):
Once placed there will be a short quest associated with it, however no dialogue. You’ll be asked to Tap the Pet Mutant Plant to see it’s animation….
And that’s really it to this final prize. There’s no questline, no dialogue, no character tasks. Just another Non-Playable Character (NPC) for your Springfield…
Here are some quick facts about the Pet Mutant Plant:
Character Status: NPC
Animation: Does a little dance when tapped
Should I Store Him or Leave Him in Springfield: Up to you really. Depends on how you feel about NPCs. If you like him, keep him out. If not tuck him away in your inventory.

Once you’ve won the Pet Mutant Plant you’ll have the opportunity to win Free donuts for continuing to collect ! Once you’ve won the Pet Mutant you’ll see this task appear:
It’ll be represented on your task list with an icon of Cecil’s Head
For every 3,000 you collect you’ll unlock the Digging Deep Bonus, which is essentially the same as the Bonus Level Up! Where you’ll have a chance at 1, 2 or 3 Pink Sprinkles!
Once you’ve reached 3,000 this box will popup:
Pick one of the boxes for FREE donuts! Each box contains 1, 2 or 3 Pink Sprinkles…if you miss out on the chance to get 3 donuts don’t worry. You can pay in game cash for another try!
So that my friends is the full breakdown of the Pet Mutant Plant and how to get FREE Donuts!
Remember more prizes will be added when Act 2 starts….so you only have until April 28th to earn all of the prizes and get those FREE donuts!
My advice is to focus on earning enough spades to unlock all of the prizes before Act 2 starts, it does look like you’ll have the opportunity to craft any Act 1 prizes you missed out on (when Act 2 starts) BUT with how difficult it is to earn enough Fertilizer and Corn for the actual crafting prizes, do you really want to waste it on Act 1 Prizes?
Remember Act 2 starts April 28th!

I was slow to start the update so I missed earning the pet mutant by about a day. I think he is adorable, but wow! he costs soooo much fertilizer. I’ve decided to give up crafting the buildings since I am nearly out of land anyway and just focus on the little guy. This relentless grinding for fertilizer is exhausting and I’m just halfway there. Of course I could spend the three hundred doughnuts that it would take to finish the job but I’m too cheap. I’m hoping to get him by next week. Oops! It’s been at least an hour since I last logged on. Time to get back to tapping!
Just got it today!!! Now I will start singing “Little Shop of Horrors”.
I contacted EA as I had been unable to craft the pet mutant plant in time and was told that it will not show as a craft item and that there is nothing I can do to get it now the events changed 🙁
That’s odd cause it’s in my C game… (i wouldn’t have posted it unless I could verify it) and just checked their in my D game too. So not sure what’s going on.

Was it EA chat support or EA phone support who told you that? From what I’ve read, EA chat support is pretty clueless and I’d only trust info from EA phone support.
Chat support is the last on the totem pole so to speak. Bless their hearts, but they are outsourced and work off scripts. They rarely have access to the same info until days after its release.
If was ea chat support. I figured it was the quickest option. They said they spoke to their supervisor and there was nothing they can do.
I’ve asked this on another thread but no one responded. I missed out on this little guy in act 1. Now that they changed 2 act 2 am I going to miss out. Or how do you get him if not. He’d not in the craftable menu.

It should be listed in your craftable items, that’s where it is in my C game. If you don’t see it in that list contact EA and let them know that he’s missing.

Well, act 2 has started and I was less than a day away from gaining the mutant plant. Goal posts have now been shifted and he can’t even be crafted from the craft menu… Very annoyed. I had used donut to skip early quests too – time to take a break from this stupid game then I think!
Hi, i don’t get mutant plants anymore in my town. But i did before what can i do?
Should be in the crafting menu, if it’s not (scroll through the whole thing) then contact EA
It doesnt look like the pet mutant plant is craftable. I was so close to getting it too. 🙁
He should be in there, he’s in my C game. If you don’t see him try hard closing and restarting…if you still don’t see him contact EA
It’s really small and has no tasks, kinda disappointing as a final prize, especially when Old Simpson farm was far better and easier to reach. Still, I’m looking forward to some extra sprinklies 🙂
Have a question abt “The Grass item!” How big of an item is it and or how is it used in the game? The mutant Plant is a cutie!! I have already done 3 times with the Bonus Donuts after getting the Mutant Plant!!

I don’t know what happened to my game I logged in after not playing for about 24 hours and it downloaded the episode tie in all over again even though I had about finished it in my game and made me start all over on the quests and there are two Bart’s doing the tasks plus I haven’t got all act one prizes and I have the digging deep quest

I am either completely crazy and I saw things that weren’t there or something strange happened but right after I got my pet mutant plant the price on my farmers market was less. I wish I had done a screenshot because when i went back it was back to normal. Of course I still didn’t have enough fertilizer for it or I would have crafted it,
Why is it so small? It’s hard to find :(.
I KNOW this question has probably been answered a hundred times. But searching for it on my phone has proven fruitless… Or… Vegetable-less??

A 16hr quest for a Character I need for Borg Bertram?
Forgive me if this is the wrong thread to ask but have been wanting to know if the rest of the characters for this event will unlock gradually through out the event. I am one of them players that soon as something comes out new in the store no matter how many sprinkles it cost I click confirm instantly and wanting to finish the characters in this event so thanks for your patients and as always all that you three do for all of us addicts

I was looking forward to the plant but then I got it and its so small I can’t even find it in my Springfield. I was hoping it would be the size of the Snowman or Dolphin at least.
Is there a good way too get spades? I’ve played every day of this event, doing all I can, and only have around 9-10k spades. Any feedback would be appreciated.
Best way is through Cecil’s daily Tasks and completing the tasks that popup with the red toolbox looking thing. Every time you complete those tasks (from the red box) you’ll get 100 spades.
That’s the only reason I don’t like this event, because not everybody can come back and tap in the middle of the day. Thanks for the feedback anyways!
My Springfield disappeared. I am signed in but I’m getting a pop up saying “my other device didn’t save my Springfield” and then it gives me an option to sign in or play .. But I’m worried if I click play that I will lose all my progress..
No worries. You just left your game too fast. Thinks you are still in there. Get them all the time. Play anyway and continue. 😉
I’ve been having to login to Origin and then download updates at least twice daily for almost a week now. It takes a long time, so it’s getting pretty annoying. I’m also wondering if I’m not getting credit for some tasks but I’m not sure yet. Anyone else having this problem? Any suggestions?
Someone else mentioned a similar situation, best thing to do is contact EA. let them know what’s happening…

When Act 2 starts will you have to have won the mutant plant to move forward? I’ve had problems with my phone for the last week and have only played 2 – 3 days total, so I’m behind as it is but I don’t even want the mutant plant, I keep all NPCS put away except for a couple anyways but if I need to power play to get the prizes that’s what I will do I suppose
No you do not. You only have to have completed that main questline (outlined in turbo tappin). However, if you don’t unlock the Mutant Pet before Act 1 is over you won’t be able to unlock it via spades. It’ll move to a craftable prize.

Pet Mutant Plant, just another Non-Playable Character (NPC) for your Springfield … another words, don’t bother rushing to obtain (guess I should appreciate what EA offers as prizes vs complain about the type of prizes)

My plan with crafting is to save up for the Farmers’ Market (three quarters of the way there), but in this post are suggesting to just wait until act 2 starts?

Yup work with the farmers market first if you want it, since it’s the most expensive of them.
