More so our neighboreenos. So we try to make it a point to hop in n out of the towns now and then to see what cool things YOU are up to. So we have decided we want to continue to focus more attention (as if we don’t already 😛 ) on YOU…our readers. Time to time we will be peaking into your towns, checking our Flickr, and also the posts in the comments below to see what cool ideas and designs YOU have come up with to make your towns unique and…well…YOU. As we’re nearing the end of the Terwilliger Act 1 we thought this week it would be fun to see what you’ve done with the star of Act 1…Monsarno Research Center! (and the other Monsarno accessory buildings) As it can always be a little intimidating, and frustrating, trying to figure out just where to put all this stuff…so who better to turn to than our fellow Addicts? Despite it only being week 1, and the prospect of more Monsarno parts to come…you guys came through with your submissions in a big way! I love the idea of incorporating the greenhouse from the superheroes event into the Monsarno buildings!
Some nice ideas there, for some reason though I think there will be more parts to the Monsarno. So for that reason are gonna hold out till the end of the event before I design the area.
Also anyone know what the brown cylinders with purple bottom item is in Cube3Dex picture?
Those are part of the nuclear power plant.

Just a little off topic here. But once reaching level 51, why is the new xp bar pink with a gift box at the end? I the same breath, why do different xp bars have different values?

There are some awesome designs here! I noticed a few of them feature the Monsarno Research Center on top of the concrete tile. In my tapped out game it won’t allow me to place this building on anything other than the original grass tiles. Could anyone please let me know how to add the building on top of the concrete tiles. Cheers!

I figured a design related page would be good for this.
I’m trying to fit my buildings and decorations from Superheroes into my town while keeping them together. My one problem is that I can’t really do that and make sense in my design since the buildings are “functional town” buildings, like the bank and prison.
My question is, should I just resign myself to separate event stuff and incorporate them into my town, or should I just stick to sticking them together? I mean, season related stuff would be a bit easier to bunch together since they fit together and stand out, but I mean the other more “functional” buildings.
I just place buildings wherever they fit. I usually don’t keep event buildings together for very long. (:
the way i’ve seen some of my neighbors do it is to create a zenith city area separate from the rest of their town, and then just incorporate everything from the event into a mini city, if you will. some really great examples in the superheroes showoff post (man this blog really moves, the post was already on page 6!):

personally, i’m not concerned about grouping my event stuff together. if it works out that way, great, but my main focus is putting stuff where i wanna put it and where i think it integrates best, regardless of what event i got it from. but that’s just me… 🙂

Well, this whole venture has been interesting. I have a 32 year old organic Vegan son living in our basement storage area (so expensive which is why he lives with us) who won’t do a Feed My Starving Children afternoon because they might be using GMO grains. If he only knew what his mother does when she is tapping on her phone! LOL
Wow!! They all look great!! Love the idea of incorporating the green house and giant pumpkin. I like to keep the items from events together if all possible but your creativity has me thinking of breaking that rule this time. Hmmmm, redesign time? Great job all!

Do you guys ever do a Springfield showoff for the entire town?
Not recently. Right now we’re focusing on various areas at a time.
I agree, all of these are great! But if I had to choose my favorites, it’d be (in no particular order): bex, for the clever outline of benches/hedges; edhall, for the lead-up and interesting placement of the three buildings; Tuvix, for the creative use of red; Antone Rodriguez, for designing a sprawling campus (wish I already had that many crafting materials!); and lastly Tapebelt, whose design is so cool it’s not fair 🙂
i must admit i wanted to recreate groening’s vision of monsarno in regards to the circular path and the placement of buildings we’ll be receiving in this event. it can be quite the task making curved roads in this game of right angle streets, but i’ve grown fond of the challenge it presents.

Beautiful landscaping by all but TAPEBELT – I had to do a double take at the circular pavement around the Monsarno. Well laid out trees and shrubbery to create that illusion, so cool.
Me too, had to zoom in and check it out. I like the circle looking pavement going around the circle building.

Nice design tapebelt! I used to have the tallest Buddhist temple using similar design ideas but have since dismantled it due to space constraints.
Yeah I hear you on the space bro, it’s always a battle. I still have my Buddhist temple on the top of a hill, mainly because it’s too integrated into the surrounding area now, but also because it was my first foray into 3D design.
That is incredible – I’d like to see your whole springfield as it seems it uses a lot of the 3d feature. Awesome Job. How the heck do you do this on a phone screen?
I usually don’t, and am impressed by people like my bro that only have that option. I have an original nexus 7 tablet that is pretty much just for tapped out nowadays. And I gotta say, once you get used to designing your town on a screen 7″ or larger, it’s tough going back to the phone for anything longer than a recharge or while on the go or at work.
As for my town, i don’t intend to do a whole stitch job anytime soon, but you can always send me neighbor request and check it out yourself. 🙂

Well I am totally floored to see my screenshot up here with all these cool designs. I am always so amazed by the creativity in these screenshot showoff posts.
I really enjoyed what each Tapper offered – from the minimalist to the extravagant – and it’s proof that everyone treat their own Springfield like it’s their special place 🙂

I really like the simple designs. I think AnarchyReigns is my favorite, though. What edhall did was pretty cool how he stacked them together. Gizmondo123’s looks cool with the Botanical Gardens, I think. And LondonUK’s 2D right next to their compound looks great. Those are my favorite bunch.

Those are some awesome photos… I think mine is neat too… but I cannot show it off because when I logged on.. it took me back to level 15… Help me please.. I worked hard to get all those task done and even got that red-headed thingy last night. HELP…I do not have EA address.. if they can help, I do not know????
