Due to POPULAR request….we’ve moving up our open thread time so that our friends outside of the US can participate too! Let’s get the conversation going! Oh and remember…just because this is posted here today doesn’t mean you can’t comment on it all week long. This open thread will still be open for comments long after today is over!
Now…enough rambling from me….it IS Sunday and you know what that means, right? Time for another Open Thread!

We’ll give you a few suggestions (like most Sunday’s you can talk about the current episode of the Simpsons) but for the most part you’re free to talk about ANYTHING your little Tapping Fingers desire…just keep it PG.
So…here is your Open Thread. The Simpsons are all new tonight AND we got an episode tie-in to go along with it, what will happen in the new episode? How will the items in the game come into play? Act 1 of The Terwilliger Event winds down tomorrow, have you earned all of the Act 1 prizes yet? Sunday Night Baseball tonight features the Mets at the Yankees, will you be watching? NBA and NHL playoffs are both in full swing, how’s your team doing? Do anything fun this weekend?

Im never getting enough fertilizers to get the farmers market. I quit upgrading at 15 or should I keep going?
I’d keep upgrading at least till 17, then you’ll at least get more Fertilizer in payouts.

I have noticed that my cup of knives in the lower right hand corner jumps every once in a while. Anybody know why that is? Is that when a new mutant corn comes into the city?
I have watched it to see if there is any significance to it. I assume it is just there as an added way to catch your attention. Still trying a few things though to see if they are what triggers it.
Watchin’, noticed this early on… when a seed appears from a house or a Sideshow Corn appears on screen it seemed to “jump”????

I swear I see it at all different times. Like Mutants, item to craft, new item in menu, etc. I just need to really sit down one day and really really watch it. Just no time to do that. Lol. It’s done that since the event started.
On another AWOT I said I’d repay all the mutant blobs dropped in my town.
Earlier today I picked up my prize of 50 from Act 2 which will enable me to do just that.
But I’m not going to be spending donuts to buy any more because I’ve been getting such a rotten rate of return that I’m convinced they’re not working properly, i.e. they’re not turning up in your towns.
Thanks a bundle for all the ones that you drop on me, I hope I’m catching most of them and you’re getting your rewards that way!

By the way, I’ve also said numerous times how much I’m enjoying this event.
Well, I’m not. At least not at the moment. I’m bored.
I realise that my enjoyment came from working with the red box in the task bar. Collecting as many spades as I could get. The quest line part of this is boring me rigid, I can’t wait for it to end so I can get the red box back and start to have fun again.
Oh well. 7 more hours of Quimby hiding, then 24 more waiting for the Opera thing to build and I’ll be having fun again. And that basically means I have to start planning for that first thing in the morning. Cool. Let the games commence!
And now the red box is back and I’m having fun again! Although Sideshow Bob’s tasks have thrown my calculations somewhat… It’s a nice problem to have 😀
Did you get the profits from my taps on your seeds? I think I caught all of them! Remember, though, that you won’t see the rewards until you go visit your neighbors or Krustyland and then come back to your Springfield.

Just finished packing up my car for this bank holiday weekend camping trip. 18 Girl Guides and 6 adults, could be quite chaotic and definitely likely to be sleep depriving as well.
Will be back on Monday evening, not much point in any of my neighbours dropping any seedlings till I’m back because I won’t be able to tap at all. No Internet where I’m going.

I think it might be a USA thing, understand what they are, but prefer to roast marshmallows to blackened crispy lava filled goodness!

We make s’mores, the Guides love them. As do the adults. It’s not camp unless we have at least one camp fire where we toast marshmallows. Although we sandwich them between 2 chocolate coated digestive biscuits.

I’m about 850 off the Farmer’s Market, and Springfield is starting to look a little jumbled again.
I know I shouldn’t complain, as a Freemium today its going to be hard to get the smile off my face 🙂

Just curious. When you go to Springfield Downs what do you do then? Do you just ignore it?
I only “went” there when I was forced way back when I originally received it as part of the questline.
It gets ignored in my lil’ Springfield… used it as the foreground for my Santos El Halper blimp 😉
OK, I have seen a couple of comments on this. So, here are my latest results for the last eleven tries (number is order from top to bottom):

The number is the dog that won, the asterisk is a correct bet from me. I have found that if I bet on the 1 dog, I can just about break even. By playing 2 or 3 every once and a while, I get good results. I have hit 4 a couple of times. I have seen that four usually comes shortly after a 3, but not every time.

My winnings are always all over the place.
I think I’ve only ever bet at Springfield Downs twice (Maybe three times?) in all of the time I’ve been playing this game. I just use it for character tasks.

Lol, tape! Well, early on, I was too “poor” to risk betting on the horses and later, when I had more money, I didn’t need to bet. The risk/reward ratio never seemed very favorable anyway. I think I played once at the beginning, just to see how it went and then once again maybe a couple of months ago, because I was bored and didn’t care if I lost money on it (which I think I did).
One if my neighbors has Sideshow Bob walking around like he is just another character in the game. Hmmmmm…..
I just got him. He is part of Terwilliger family. He interacts with the Minimal Security Prison and the Monsanaro. Be patient, you will get him 🙂

To my neighbors: It might be a good idea to send seeds elsewhere as I’m really busy and don’t have time to tap them all within 4 hours. I haven’t even had time to get in here very often or for very long, and this will continue several days, at least.

Does anyone else sometimes feel guilty keeping Stampy cooped up in the Simpson’s house all the time? About once a week or two he timeslips enough to give him the 12-hour task with Bart overnight, but, with this event and needing to send Bart to eat candy corn (or sit in his those right now), he doesn’t even get that!
I don’t think I could admit caring about the comfort and feelings of a collection of glowing dots to anyone but you guys! 😉
I get solace from the fact that he comes out when my neighbours visit. But I do feel sad that they get to see him more than I do.
With the connotations of “fertilising”, I feel more guilty sending other Springfieldians to the Simpson house for tasks, can’t be pleasant at all ;p
I understand EA not including every character into one of their “groups” (e.g. “Dimwits,” “High Rollers,” etc.), but how is MARGE not included in any of them?!?
She is in one for females…but they rarely use it. I think it was due to for so long no women in the game hardly any at all. Now with more… and more coming… hopefully that will change.
Just as I thought it was odd that Don Vittorio wasn’t included as criminal, I was miffed on behalf of the Investorettes that they weren’t included as entrepreneurs- especially since they just had a quest line with the addition of Helen Lovejoy. C’Mon EA- looking a little sexist here!

Did anyone ever have the ea game theme park? Well I logged on today to find ea is withdrawing it on 12th June. So once 12th June comes people can no longer even open the app! Even tho theme park is getting old now it took flipping ages of tapping to progress through the game. In the same way with Simpsons people could spend their real money to buy rides for their virtual theme park then all of a sudden ea can just shut it down after people have spent loads of money on in game purchases! This is the exact reason I refuse to spend real money on Simpsons because as much as I love the game it will one day shut down as well 😱
I don’t think that Phaedrus is a tapper here (have been trying to keep an eye out but I must admit do not have time to view and read every post 🙁 ) but even though I try to rarely single out neighbourinos, P has excessively and generously over abundantly dropped seeds for me through out act one, and I’ve tried to repay (with so many other more than generous tappers) but with the last day I have received at least 8 I can count so far from my neighbourino I had to shout a massive thanks 😉

During Act 1, I’ve saved up enough seeds to place 10 mutants in each town everyday, (of course I don’t expect anyone to drop off as many), but unfortunately I’m not seeing nearly half of my neighbors (excluding Cube3Dex) dropping off mutants into my town with at least a minimum of 2-5 mutants a day or some neighbors haven’t placed any at all. Now that we’re in Act 2, again I rarely see anyone hitting me up with mutant seeds. Yes, I do keep track who and how many tappers hits me up daily. I also believe it’s possible that my neighbors may not be rotating their friends list, especially since I’m at the end of their list alphabetically. (W) even possibly some maybe excluding me since my Friend Leaderboard rating is higher by 20% than their rating. Like I said, I did hit everybody up strong during Act 1. Regardless, I still need my neighbors to drop off seeds too.
With this said, I’ll be dropping off mutants into my neighbors town who hit me up every day.
Those who’ve been my neighbor a long time, know that I’m a loyal, avid and a serious player who plays 24/7. I do love all my neighbors and I’m not looking to replace anyone! If there are other players who won’t vandalize, stays involved with the events consistantly everyday and has an established creative town…add me! (no messy towns please!)

How in the world could you save so many seeds? I play (ashamed!) all the time and I sure don’t get many seeds In my game. 🙁 Is there a secret to gettings more seedlings? I visit all neigboreenos everyday and share my seedlngs when I get them.

GPIKKY…I should have specified. I’ve earned and saved x amount of donuts to purchase seeds and of course I do earn seeds by playing every hour on the hour. Prior to past events, I would save and spend my bonus donuts frivalously to build up my town and then fall behind on tasks.
I decided to be more prepared this time.. lol!

This is 45 minutes away from me (i’m right outside DC), I’ve got friends that live there and occasionally visit, but the pictures and live shots all look like war zones right now…
