Should I Spend Donuts on the Italian Villa and Francesca?

Hey Howdy Hey Tappers!

The Terwilligers are making their way back into Springfield!  And with Act 2 arrives Sideshow Bob’s vengeful Italian Wife!  And if there’s anything you don’t wanna do is tick off Italian Female…especially when it comes to her family.  Believe me…I know. 😉  ANYWAY…now I know you may be trying to decide if this is worth YOUR donuts, but don’t sweat it!  We’re here to tell you what’s worth the donuts and what you might want to hold off on.

Wondering if you should add Francesca to YOUR Springfield?  Well before you hit that confirm button let’s break down the pros and cons of bringing this passionate Italian to YOUR Springfield!

         unlock_francesca italianvilla_menu

Building/Decoration: Italian Villa
Character: Francesca
Donut Price: 150 donuts
Earning: $55, 5xp/1hrs
Conform-O-Meter: Indolence +10
Where Can I Place It?: Grass or Pavement
Size: 5×10

Pros:
-Comes with a quest line (heavily involves Marge, as well.  So finally something for her to do)
-Premium character earns 50% more on all cash and xp than a freemium character
-Francesca is in the Criminal group, therefore she’ll have a 4hr task to earn more Corn on Monsarno.
-Italian Villa is a nice looking building, and will be used by Francesca.

Cons:
-Francesca is not voiced
-No additional Currency Earning Tasks (Gas Masks or whatever is coming up for Act 3)

Final Thought:
Premium Take:
I’m a fan of this combo.  Francesca makes me giggle and the questline is pretty funny.  Not a fan of the fact that she’ll help you earn more corn (not as hot a commodity as Fertilizer..but a task is a task).  It is on the pricey side for a building/character combo, but still not the craziest priced.  So this is one I’d say if you want it and you have the donuts, go for it.   Just remember, it’s only Act Two and more is coming.  So if you’re a premium player and tight on donuts you may want to hold off for now.  There’s no benefit to adding Francesca now or at the end of the event.

Freemium Take:
While there are a lot of things I like about Francesca and the Villa, I would hold off (at least for now) if I were a freemium player and donuts were harder to come by.  There’s still a lot more to see in this event, and you never know what’s going to hit the store.  So at least for now, I’d pass on this combo as a freemium player.

Of course in the end it’s your decision, we can only tell you what we would/wouldn’t do…and I can tell you I will be purchasing Francesca.    However, this is one item in the store that will be around for the entire event.  So you don’t have to make a decision right away, Francesca will still be in the store when Act 3 hits.  So if you want to hold off for now and wait to see what else arrives, that may be your better bet.

Francesca’s Permanent Tasks:

francesca_juggle_knives_front_walk           francesca_train_a_goat_front_walk

I never realized the joy I would feel when I finished off the Terwilliger family. Having all of them performing the Opera in the Outdoor Theatre brought me a sense of happiness I haven’t known since since I first discovered almond cookies.

  2. Francesca sembra una donna Ispanica. Il suo nome dovrebbe essere “Francisca” da Messico :-p

Allora, allo presente, pensi tu che lei é valsa la pena?

  3. I’m trying to decide between francesca and gino. Any thoughts on which is better?

  4. Cheryl. . Slack4cher166

I think I want to take the 4 hours to wonder what the hell is going on!
I hate this. I don’t like the impossibility, the amount of stagnant characters, I don’t see the point ..?

Francesca and the Villa …. Tappers gets 2/3 of what you want for 150 Donuts (Francesca isn’t voiced, but she does earn you Corn during the Event) and a House that earns $ + XP Points – buy it if you got the Donuts 🙂

  6. AnarchyReigns

Has an outdoor task with a goat. Take my donuts.

  7. TY Alissa Darling for the post! I was holding off buying ’til the SIB, normally I jump all over building/character combo’s but I was on the fence with this one. I’m going to sound like a broken record here after the Superhero event but again, the Italian Villa is disproportionately small next to other comparable Springfield buildings. I’d like for it to go with Rancho Relaxo or one of the other mansions but it just doesn’t. The selling point for me is Francesca’s tasks. The outdoor ones sound hilarious, she’ll utilize the Opera House (that I have big design plans for) AND the girl needs 24 hours to get her hair done! This sounds like one cut-throat Diva I have to have!

    • OMG! The laughs I just got from the dialogue between her and Helen Lovejoy on the questline alone were worth the donuts! Not to mention the priceless screen shots I just got of Mother and Son slice together. Totally worth the sprinkles!!!

I wish she actually had a visible task to gesticulate wildly! But yes, I got her to go with my Gino. Heck I’ll probably end up getting them all!

  9. I seen one of my neighbours Springfield already have the grey haired Terwilliger granny. Are they ahead? Also why is TSTO obessed with prisons? 3 prisons the last 2 from back to back events is so extra to besides. Stop with the fricken prisons.

  10. Bought this right away. I want all of the Terwilliger family. Just visited my 35 friends and got 3 donuts among them! Lovin it.

  11. No brainer for me; bought her instantly.
Beautiful building and it’s great to have more women in town.
    Plus, love the name Francesca.
It triggered a redecorating spree for me too…

  12. I bought it right away as I liked the combo and the chance to earn more corn is fine with me. I haven’t made it through much of the quest line but so far I’m pleased with the purchase.

  13. In Act 3 we probably have to collect musical notes…knowing Bob loves is Opera..

    • i’m thinking knives as that’s the only thing on the terwillingers guide page we have yet to see. (besides the prize icon)

  14. Short answer: YES

  15. I held off for a while, but bought her this morning before this post came up. I don’t regret it at all. 😀

  16. I purchased her immediately no regrets… I want the entire family!!!

  17. Random question, I saw another town on my friends list have Sideshow Bob’s mother already… but i KNOW she hasnt been put out yet. Thats only possible if they hacked their account right?

  18. She. Juggles. Knives.

Easy purchase decision for me. 😊

  19. I’m definitely going to get her, because I would like to have the whole sideshow bob family. (Terwilligers)

  20. Ill wait to see what else is to come and prolly get her by the end of event

  21. Following the same pattern EA has used with premium Terwilligers, Sideshow Bobs mother (Judith) will most likely be premium.

  22. Purchased. What can I say… I’m addicted to the Terwilligers. 🙂

  23. I think it’s a great looking building and she’s a character I’d love to have but there are 3 things that tell me not to splurge:
1 – the cost. It’s a bit too steep. 120 donuts and I’d’ve possibly gone for it
2 – she’s not voiced. How I long for more voiced female characters
3 – a 1hr payment doesn’t really do it for me. The big payouts (8hr+) are the ones that earn me my cash

Shame, it would look great in my town. Who knows, I may yet be tempted….

    • See, I think I’m in the smaller camp of “WOOHOO! Another character with an outdoor 1-hour task!!!”
I grind it out. I’m fully up to speed at level 51, but I have no in-game savings. However, I got up to speed from starting the game through completing level 51 in under 7 months, bypassing friends who’ve played for over 18 months. How? By continuously grinding! So I’m stoked to have another character with a cool outdoor one hour task to continue grinding away for a fat stack of in-game cash. 😉 I’m looking forward to the day I have enough that I can simply send characters on whatever tasks I’d like to, though. Indoors for ones I don’t care about, outdoors for the ones with great animation, and not a care in the world as to the payout… Ahh, a girl can dream… 🙂

      • Aaaaand I just realized you meant a one-hour payout on the building. I just finished reading various gripes about the one-hour fertilizer task, and my sleep-deprived brain just put the two together.
The less I sleep during this event, the more I feel like Ralph Wiggum, lol.
        Oh well.
        Go banana!

  24. Yes… Baby Gino needs his mamma….

  25. The only problem is the building is so gorgeous I had to find just the right spot. I think I found it but it triggered a domino effect of redecorating. As if there isn’t enough going on. And in case anyone from EA reads this, for the love of god, more land! Since Superheroes everything is so big. Republican HQ, Radioactive Man statue and beach house, I had to sell 5 blue houses to make room for the new prison. I spend a ridiculous amount of money on doughnuts, how about some room so I can see them? I enjoy having residential neighborhoods and soon I’ll be down to one house of each color. Granted I waste a lot of space on my park, I built my own Central Park. Has everything from the conservatory to sheep’s meadow, just needs a zoo. Anyway I’m not touching that. I understand land takes up a lot of space but how much is wasted on Krustyland?

    • Ryan,
What is your origin ID? I’d love to see your central park.

    • I agree. I’m going to have to do some serious redecorating soon. Plus, the superhero stuff would fit in so much better in Krustyland!

    • They have to do something with Krustyland soon. Either make use of it, or replace it with something else.
I know some people would be up in arms if they got rid of it, even if they allowed us to sell all the items back at face value, but it’s such a wasted space. I bet in hindsight they regret doing it the way they have.

  26. I bought her with no regrets, however I was expecting the Villa to be larger.
