Hey Howdy Hey Tappers!
It’s Harvest Time in Springfield and the Terwilliger’s have returned to Springfield to unleash Mutant Vegetables on us! In the Second Act of the Terwilliger Event you’ll unlock Dr. Terwilliger, find Sideshow Bob & try not to go crazy collecting all sorts of stuff to craft prizes in Springfield!
This Event is broken up into 3 Acts, with each Act containing part of the story. To help you move along with the event you’ll get several prizes per Act. Each prize will either be something fun for Springfield or something to help you move along in the event. For the second Act you’re tasked with collecting Gas Masks! The first Act 2 prize awarded at 1,050 
are 3 rakes, decorations for your Springfield…and so much more!
So let’s take a closer look at these rakes and just what happens when you unlock them in your Springfield.
WARNING…SPOILERS AHEAD ABOUT SIDESHOW BOB. Including images of an upcoming task….
Once you’ve collected 1,050 you’ll automatically be awarded the rakes and you’ll see this message popup:
They’ll automatically go into your inventory, so you’ll have to go in to retrieve them.
And that’s really it to the first prize. Initially, there’s no questline, no dialogue, nothing telling you to place it in your Springfield to earn more . Just win the prize and that’s it.
HOWEVER…..once you unlock Sideshow Bob (at the conclusion of the Act 2 main questline..walkthrough here) you will get a questline that’ll popup telling you to place them, and oh boy will you want to place them! Here’s the details on the questline:
Again…this will not start until you have unlocked Sideshow Bob

Marge: Homer, I got you a new rake! Now you can finally clear up last year’s leaves.
Homer: I’d love to Marge, but first I’d have to clear up last year’s rakes. In the meantime, I’ll toss this rake with the others.
Place Rake- It only requires you to place one, but trust me you’ll want to place all 3. And spread them around
Make Sideshow Bob Meet His Raker- 1hr, Earns $70, 17xp
This is by far one of the best tasks in TSTO…The more rakes you have, the better. As he’ll walk around Springfield and find each one….
And because THIS is all we think of when we think of Sideshow Bob..I put this GIF together last night so you guys could giggle along with us!
Here are some quick facts about the Rakes:
Size: 4×1
Conform-O-Meter Impact: Vanity +100
Where Can I Place It?: Grass/Pavement
Bonus%: Yup, this prize awards a bonus % for each one placed. You’ll get .10% for each Rake placed in Springfield
What Does it Do?: See above
Can I Get More?: I do believe more will be for sale in the store at some point during the event…but they will be premium.
What’s Next?
Well there are two prizes after the Rakes, Fertilizer and Corn. I’m not going to do separate posts about them as it’s pretty basic. Once you unlock them it will add more Fertilizer or Corn to your Crafting Totals. (Remember crafting totals can be found at the top of your event hub…Trophy Icon with the knives bottom right. The totals will be in the top right of the event hub)
Here’s a quick breakdown…
Awarded at 1,550 . This will add 200 Fertilizer to your total Fertilizer count (found in the Event Hub). This is not a tangible item for Springfield, it’s just 200 Fertilizer added to your total on hand.
Awarded at 2,100 . This will add 200 DNA to your total DNA count (found in the Event Hub). This is not a tangible item for Springfield, it’s just 200 DNA added to your total on hand.
Next Tangible Prize for Springfield…
Minimum Security Prison awarded at 4,200 . This will be the next prize we cover in a prize rundown post.

I can’t tell you if it’s worth it or not…that’s a personal decision. If you want the task get it, if not pass.

What you’ve heard is correct…Bob has a 60-minute task where he steps on tasks (like he does in the show). It’s a very funny animation, although you’ll have to create the sound he makes in your head, since there’s no audio for it in the game. It does still work (even though the original event it started in its long over).
So, with all of that information in hand, it’s up to you to decide whether it’s worth it to spend donuts in the rakes!
(Oh, one last thought…when I’m undecided about buying something, I’ll often look in my neighbors’ towns to see if I can find it there and see it “in action,” or, if it’s a building, to get a better sense of its size/proportion.)

Really like the animation, but agree that it’s just not the same without Bob’s grumble following each whack. I wonder how much Kelsey would charge to let them just use his grumble? Maybe EA could take up a collection from amongst their players…I know I’d throw in a buck towards that!
Ok from what I read on Simpsons wiki act prizes don’t dissapear yet someone here said they do.
Maybe someone made a oopsy on wiki or here.

While I haven’t been lucky enough to get the glitch to have 2 buildings. I do get double payout from my mutant seeds each time. They don’t synch until I go to KL, then when I come back to my town I get them again. I’ve gotten that the entire event.
Is it just me or does the fertilizer seem so hard to collect? it took me forever to finally craft the farmers market – and now – i’m just trying to get more – but i never seem to get very much!
Same here play every 2 hours and have every character available doing fertiliser tasks and still 4000 away from crafting it and still havent crafted anything else

I am SUUUPER disappointed that Bob is not a voiced character in TSTO. To me, it’s an essential element because his voice + his look is everything. I’m really hoping that maybe a miracle will occur and this great injustice will eventually be rectified.

Check that out for the best benefits. Everyone’s stopping at different places, places that make sense to them. (and it’s corn and DNA 😉 )
You must level up to at least 3 to move on with the questline, but beyond that it’s your call.
Totally upgrade both but upgrading the herbicide will net you a lot more resources from squishing clones. As it stands, I can earn 23 fertilizer from an 8 hr task but when I squish a clone, I earn 25 of any of the 3 resources. No Brainer for me
Are you sure Bob’s not voiced? If so that’s pretty disappointing. The new notification with him grumbling really had my hopes up… figured if Ea had that it was a done deal.
Regardless, it appears I’ll soon have a new centerpiece for my town – the circle of rakes I’ve wanted for two years 🙂

He’s not voiced. Not like he is in the show anyway. When he gets hit with a rake, only the rake makes noise..not SSB.

Le sigh…got a second prison ( sooooo pretteeee *creepy voice*) but didn’t have enough land to place it, chose the inventory option but it’s not there! I know it was a glitch but I was super stoked. Going to take me a good night’s sleep to get over that loss.

Yea if you don’t build the second one it’ll disappear. You can only have 1 in springfield at a time, but because of that glitch it let you do more than one. But the second you inventory it, it disappears.
I got the prison on one device and later logged in on another device and got another one! Guess the agonizing wait really paid off! Awesome glitch!

And, another cool factoid about the rakes is they can be placed in all four directions, not the typical two, making them extra unique. 😀
Got a question. And I saw someone mention on another thread and it caught my eye on the gas masks collected for friend visits. So for me today, well after 24 hours I did my friend visits. About half way down my friends list I stopped getting event currency (gas masks). I know I was getting them and I say it was approx. the half way mark on 100 friends I stopped collecting. Has there been a change? I thought I should get gas masks on visits till the 90th friend?
Also a side note, just got frinks gizmo to help getting rid of the clones, seems to work in friends towns only tapping the Bob clones, not the first mutant veggies. This does help making visits go faster. Upgrading the distance work in friends towns too?
Not 90th friend. 90th Action. So… 3 Actions per friend… that’s about 30 friends. 😉

My minimum security prison has gone missing. Has anyone else had this problem? I earned it, In fact I’m a few prizes past it. When I click on the list of prizes it says it’s been earned and is placed in my Springfield but it’s gone. It’s not in my inventory either. I vaguely remember placing it but I don’t remember if it finished building or not. Maybe my game crashed while I was placing it? Ugh. I emailed EA so I guess I’ll see what they say. Has anyone else had this issue or is it just me? I keep scouring my town for it and I swear I’m losing my mind.
It’s happened to another reader, but a different prize. Same advice, contact EA they’ll be able to restore it for you.
I really don’t mean to complain because I LOVE this game and deserve frequent tapper donuts. But I’m SO CONFUSED. I don’t know what prizes to try to craft because I don’t know what ones I can reasonably expect to get. I don’t know what to upgrade or when. I don’t know whether to send my guys out for fertilizer, corn or DNA. I’m pretty good at math, but NOT GOOD ENOUGH to figure this all out. I’m just shooting in the dark. I may just try to get all the Act 2 prizes and forget the craftables…sorry…I just don’t get it.

I think my concern is that if I DON’T upgrade I won’t have enough resources to craft anything. But I’m also concerned that if I DO upgrade I won’t have enough resources to craft anything. I wish the resources used to craft were NOT the same as the resources used to upgrade. I would spend just as much time tapping, I’m sure, but I wouldn’t have the confusion aspect and I could get a handle on it. It would be very disappointing if for all my hard work all I ended up with was upgrades and no craftables…and I’m afraid that’s EXACTLY where I’m heading. Oh well…I’m sure it wouldn’t be my first wasted time.
Not sure where to ask this but how do I get all 5 of the research buildings? I have 3 but I see other peoples towns have 5. What am I missing?
