Should I Spend Donuts on the Five Corners?

Hey Howdy Hey Tappers!

The Terwilligers are making their way back into Springfield! And with this event there are a bunch of new premium items in our stores for purchase, and earlier this week another item was introduced for a limited-time…the Five Corners!  Now I know you may be trying to decide if this is worth YOUR donuts, but don’t sweat it!  We’re here to tell you what’s worth the donuts and what you might want to hold off on.

Wondering if you should add the Five Corners to YOUR Springfield?  Well before you hit that confirm button let’s break down the pros and cons of adding this multi-state wonder to YOUR Springfield!

fivecorners_menu

Building/Decoration: Five Corners
Donut Price: 70 Donuts
Bonus %: 0.50% bonus on all cash and XP
Conform-O-Meter: Vanity +200
Where Can I Place It?:  Grass Only
Size: 4×3
Unique?: Yes, only 1 per Springfield

Pros:
-Classic Simpsons item
-Goes great with the Gas and Grub

Cons:
-No questlines associated with it
-No character interaction
-Bonus % isn’t that good at all.

Final Thought:
Premium Take:
Honestly, this one is a tossup for me.  It’s one of those items you’re either going to grab because you like it or you’re going to pass on because meh, what do you need it for?
I don’t think you should pick it up for the bonus % or the Conform-O-Meter impact, as there are better items in the store that will help you in both areas.  However, if it’s something you like and have fond Simpson memories of pick it up.

Freemium Take:
I think this one is a freemium pass.  There are really no benefits to adding it to your Springfield, other than the look.  And I know for freemium players those sprinkles are hard to come by, so pass on this one and save them for something better down the road.

Of course in the end it’s your decision, we can only tell you what we would/wouldn’t do…and I can tell you, I’m still undecided about getting this one.  I do have fond Simpson memories with it (as well as personal memories about my own trip to the Four Corners), but trying to decide if I have space for it is a whole different issue.  However, whatever you decide just remember that this Simpson Landmark will be leaving our stores when the Terwilliger Event ensd so if you’re thinking about it getting it make sure you make your final decisions before the event ends or you’ll miss your chance.

  1. When will you guys have SISDO for the Springfield YMCA/Krupt and Vesuvius Pizza? Thanks.

    • Yup…only so many hours in the day. Trying to go off what’s being requested most for priority posts. They’ll definitely be up soon tho

  2. I’m probably going to pass, given (1) the abysmal bonus, (2) the large size, (3) zero character interaction, and (4) the fact is raises vanity, one of the easiest things to raise (if they’d made it tree-hugger, being a park and all, I probably would’ve picked it up).

  3. EA needs to do a major land expansion, not just one strip. I’m out of room. After taking great care in arranging my Springfield I’m not going to turn it into a junk pile just to cram in more stuff. EA is leaving money on the table by not giving long time premium players room to keep growing. It’s a bit absurd that EA can add all this new content but no land. One last rant: the character task menus are still dropping before I can tap a task. This is MADDENING while trying to keep earning event currency with short tasks.

    No questlines
    No character interactions
    Bonus % too minimal
    No Bueno EA !
(EA should know better by now)

  5. It feels like EA’s just throwing crap against the wall and seeing what sticks, who’ll buy what. They’re pumping out more and more limited time buy stuff. And honestly I have room for none of it anyway.

  6. I have no room for anything else in my Springfield! EA are missing out badly on donut spending due to lack of land available to long term players! My town has been condensed so far that it now looks like a train wreck & my forest too is now just a few trees. I’d buy more premium items if I could fit them in. These events with large buildings are a nightmare! I can’t tap on event items without hitting something else! (& I play on an ipad!) I’d hate to try on a phone sized device!

    • I used to play this game on the small screen iPhone 3gs. At moment I am playing on a larger android phone. No chance to play on a tablet nor iPad yet.

      • GodlessSquash

I started on a 10.1 inch Android tablet. I’m now playing on a nexus 7 and while the screen size is not as good, the reliability, speed and stability are ten times better. If you are interested in a Android tablet I highly recommend the Nexus 7 and you can get one for around $125 as an Amazon Warehouse Deal if you don’t mind a mint tablet in damaged packaging. Perfect package costs around $180.

  7. No room in my Springfield! Every time I place something new, something else has to go into inventory. Even if it is just a couple of trees. My forest starts to look positively threadbare. Not sure if it still deserves to be called a forest…

  8. Very indecisive, since this has huuuuuge nostalgia factor for me. My family did road trips a lot, and this joke cracked everyone up. It’s just the lack of good gameplay integration. Then again, there’s been a lot of limited-time items that I wished I had the donuts for before, so… Light premium but haven’t paid for donuts in about a year and got lucky in the last couple events. Even though I have just about enough for both this and Rolling Rock, probably won’t pull the trigger on either until right before the event ends.

I hear you on the personal nostalgia factor. I visited Four Corners on a Boy Scout trip and wish I still had the photo of me and my three best friends at that time each standing in a different state.☺

  9. If only it had a Hold hands in five different states task.

  10. Cant wait to see the analysis on the rolling rock…

So where do we put it? On grass? It has cactus on it, which means it’s in the desert and grass would die in the desert. I guess you could place it on pavement, but that would look odd, too.

So, when EA does add desert I’m going to wish I had this, but maybe they never will, so….guess I’ll say no. 🙁

    • I’m still holding out hope for a desert expansion….fingers crossed..

    • Cosign

    • You might want to check the Simpons Wiki for TSTO Terwilliger Event Act 3 info regarding desert. I know Addicts won’t post speculation about items that are supposed to show up in our games down the road, and so I won’t say anything beyond that, 1.) you might want to check the Wiki and take the info with the appropriate grain of salt, and 2.) that I have a neighbor who appearantly has recently become a hacker and has this particular Act 3 item in his/her Springfield.

      • Someone stole my burrito™

It’s not ground cover it’s a single patch of cactus. We need sand or desert dirt cover for items that should be places on dirt or sand.

  12. It’s sitting patiently in my town waiting for the Gas N Grub which should be happening later today. Less than 150 DNA to go…

  13. Bought it due to nostalgia. Would be great if they added Maggie and the Simpsons could all hold hands on it…

  14. Not related to this but first Cecil task today for me is 6 hrs. Hopefully rest of today will be short ones. My tasks have nearly always been consistent with you guys. Thanks guys for all your massively helpful posts. How do you have time to have a life too?? Huge respect.

  15. I would get the rolling rock, much better $/xp increase.

  16. Hey everyone,
Does anyone think we might be getting sand or desert with the addition of five corners, the gas and grub and the cactus patch? Or maybe the cactus patch is the sand ground?

    • You might want to check the Simpson’s Wiki for info on this event. Do note, however, that not everything in the files ends up in the game (I say this not as someone with any particular ability or insight but rather as someone who has read this blog and others enough to know that this is the case. Looks very promising though.

Besides having a lousy multiplier, I honestly have no earthly idea where I’d put it. It’s not that I’m low on space (still have plenty of land I haven’t bought yet), it’s just that I can’t picture how one would incorporate it. I hope to see some pictures of what people who did buy it did with it!

  18. I can’t justify getting this for my Springfield. I don’t see it fitting in… Maybe if we had a “sand” or desert option with cacti! Then I would probably buy it, but I think I will save my Donuts for something a little more generous in the bonus % area.

  19. I wouldn’t have bought it if I weren’t a completionist

  20. I’m gong to pass on it. While I really like it, the bonus amount is just sorry.
