Should I Spend Donuts on Coach Krupt & the Springfield YMCA?

Hey Howdy Hey Tappers!

Level 52 arrived in Springfield last week!  With the all new level BOMBARDMENT is back at Springfield Elementary!  That’s right my friends…level 52 marks the arrival of Coach Krupt to our favorite tapping devices!  Now I know you may be trying to decide if this is worth YOUR donuts, but don’t sweat it!  We’re here to tell you what’s worth the donuts and what you might want to hold off on.

Wondering if you should add Coach Krupt to YOUR Springfield?  Well before you hit that confirm button let’s break down the pros and cons of adding this crazy coach to YOUR Springfield!

Cons:
-YMCA is not animated very subtly animated.

-YMCA does not impact the Conform-O-Meter

Final Thought:
Premium Take:
I really love this combo.  It’s reasonably priced and Coach Krupt has some fun tasks!  Plus…HE’S VOICED!  If you’re a premium player this one should be a no-brainer for you…pick him up! 🙂

Freemium Take:
As a freemium player…I think the Coach K character combo is a good one to get your “feet wet” in premium purchases.  He’s reasonably priced, comes with a building and offers you all of the benefits of a premium character (plus he’s voiced, which not all premium characters are).  So this is one I’d aim for as a freemium player.

Of course in the end it’s your decision, we can only tell you what we would/wouldn’t do…and I can tell you I will be purchasing Coach Krupt.    However, this is NOT a Limited-Time Item so take your time with your thought process.  Coach K will still be there in a few weeks.  So if you’re on the fence or worried about saving up your donuts relax..there’s no rush to get him.

Coach Krupt’s Permanent Tasks:

  1. where did coach krupt go? he was just in my list of premium characters the other day but he’s gone now. can anyone else verify this on their game?

  2. This one seems an amazing combo. Only a few combos are this cheap and most of them aren’t buildings. I would of had this. By now but I might wait till Black Friday as I believe last time, it had a net cost of 85 donuts.

  3. Is there an “Make Bart Throw an Iceball” task since there is now the YMCA? Seems like the right task, as seen on the episode.

  4. I jumped at the chance for coach Krupt as soon as I saw him pop up in my game, I started to save up donuts as quick as possible and then I got 30 free donuts in the mystery box about a week later, so with no hesitation I spent the sprinkles!! Finally finished the School Workers category for characters and as a freemium player – who likes to hoard their donuts – I feel awesome about it! Otto was the first one I had to get as a premium character, I saved up for almost a year to get him!

  5. Does the coach earn any side show bob event currency?

  6. Do you know whether coach Krupt can earn theatre masks?

I purchased this one. I’ve kinda squeezed into my residential area right now. Eventually I’ll give it a little more space and put a small park/playground next to it. I don’t have Lisa’s Balance Beam (I wasn’t around for Whacking Day), but I think it would be a good match-up and will save space for that to go in should I ever get it.

As a child, we had a Boys Club in our neighborhood. Not a Y, but similar “community center” kinda place. I have fond memories of playing there, including various league sports (baseball, soccer) and other activities (no BOMBARDMENT, lol, but we did play dodgeball, tetherball, hopscotch, four square, etc, there was a pool table, boardgames, and a woodshop, too), and seeing this gym in my Springfield takes me back. 🙂

  8. I won the Golden Scratcher jackpot for the second time in a week! I think this is telling me to buy Coach Krupt… 😉

  9. This one’s definitely going on my list of future purchases – I just haven’t figured out yet where on the list he’ll be. But basically I’ve just put off thinking about most of Level 52 (and anything else that’s not event related) until after the event.

  10. I’m sold. This lil game is so funny. I don’t know how they do it.

  11. As much as i love seeing all of these characters coming to Springfield it’s the one’s that are voiced that i’d rather spend donuts on. I’m very thankful that Sideshow Bob was a free character but a lack of voice kind of sucks. I know it’s impossible for certain characters to be voiced but for me i’m more likely to spend donuts on voiced characters then non voiced characters.

Thanks for all of your hard work going into this site. I only come to this site for reliable TSTO info and love it.

  12. Just watched this episode last night. I plan on getting him-after Grimey-after this event is over. I think I’ll also hold off on crafting until near the end of the event. Right now focused on grinding and updating the opera stage.

  13. sistertoabrony

I would buy him. If I had anywhere to put the YMCA. I need land badly.

  14. I got him the day after the Level 52 update hit because I really wanted to finally spend sprinklies on a new level premium character. I think that was a great decision and after watching the main episode he was in (My Fair Laddy), I want EA to bring us the Blue Pants Factory! Wouldn’t it be cool if they brought in that and the Springfield Box Factory?

  15. I’ve only been playing since about the 1st of January, and I’ve been enjoying these helpful “should I spend” posts. Thank you!

I still have only bought one premium item: spider pig + silo. Do people have comments about the best building, item, character or combo to go for? Good value is a selling point, as is benefit to the conform-o-meter.

I’m sort of leaning towards the Cracker Factory, since it opens up the fleet-o-pita vans, but I also like the School Bus, Frink’s Lab and Krustylu Studios. Barney’s Bowlarama looks cool, but sooooo pricey! On the other hand, the Happy Sumo is quite a bargain. Sooo many choices, so few bonuts.

    • If you can’t decide – go for the characters you love in the show. For me, I went for Professor Frink as soon as I humanly could! In game play, he isn’t the best character, but in the show, he (for me) is one of the top. So if you love Otto, grab the bus. etc.

    • Frink is great in my opinion.
His lab has one of the best payouts of all the buildings, so good return on investment.
Plus, he earns event currency. In this event, he’s great for DNA.

My second suggestion is the Duff Brewery. Good payout on this one too and Duffman earns event currency.

Other than that, like others have said, consider which characters you like from the show. And, a lot of it is aesthetics; which building do you like the look of, does it have a decent payout or % bonus, etc.

Oh, and welcome to the addiction. 🙂

    • I favour the cracker factory. Love the globe (don’t get to use it as much as I’d like). The Pita vans are good for ratings, but no income. BUT the questline gives Kirk an 8 hour premium payout (run the cracker factory) so he doesn’t have to do all those demeaning tasks. Not impressed with Bowlorama. Don’t have the rest. My next item is Bumblebee man. Might not be the best payout, but I want something I enjoy in the game rather than just payout. I read somewhere that the Happy Sumo is not giving out free bonzais any more. Maybe someone else could confirm that. Liked the building’s colours, but not the man’s animation, which I saw on YouTube.

      • Your next purchase is gonna be Bumblebee Man, I recommend getting him now, so he can help with your event earnings. That’s what I did early on in the event, and he’s been quite helpful! I haven’t done his questline yet though – I’m saving that for after the event is over.

  16. The Problem Child

FYI the YMCA actually IS animated. It’s very subtle, but if you look in the windows you can see a basketball game going on in there during a task.

  17. I quite like Coach Krupt — in part because like Lunchlady Dora, he’s a character who has appeared on the show more than just the once as a guest. Your assessment is dead-on, too: He’s a good price in sprinklies, voiced in the game because Hank Azaria does him (along with Apu, Wiggam, and CBG, among others), and has the premium payout.

It’s my hope that in the future they animate the YMCA building though…it’s been known to happen, given other buildings.

  18. Eat at gulp n blow seems like a random task, but ok.

  19. I’ll be getting him. It’s just a question of whether I pull the trigger now or wait until after the event is finished.
