At this point the main questline is complete.

And yes…once you’ve completed the main questline, Random Tasks (this icon sidebar_currencyjob) will be back.  You’ll earn 100 ico_terwilligers_musicnotes_lg for every task you complete from the Random Task list…just like you did with Act 1 and Act 2.

In addition to the random tasks a few other tasks will popup.  Before we go over them, it’s important to note that these DO NOT have to be completed.  They’re just extra goals if you want to earn more

The first is Building Towards the Sky.  This will be represented by sidebar_spotlamp in your task bar (and yes if you did not yet craft the Farmer’s Market or Gas and Grub you’ll still see those in your task bar as well).

Building Towards the Sky is basically Upgrade tasks…tasks to upgrade Monsarno and the Opera House.  Completing these will earn you ico_terwilligers_musicnotes_lg for each one you complete.  There are 6 total parts for Building Towards the Sky (that I can see) and each one involves upgrading both Monsarno and the Opera House higher and Higher (Part 1 is Level 15 at Monsarno and Level 5 at the Opera House).

While you may complete these goals naturally, just by upgrading as you should (and yes, an Opera House upgrade post is coming)…I DO NOT recommend going out of your way to clear these goals.  Monsarno is simply not worth upgrading after Level 19 (IMO) and the Opera House is not worth upgrading much after Level 10 (still have to play around with it).  So DO NOT waste Fertilizer, Corn, Masks & DNA to upgrade these if you don’t have to.  If you’re Monsarno is already where you want it to be…keep it there.  DO NOT upgrade further.  It’ll just push you further back from crafting goals.  Likewise applies for the Opera House.  So don’t stress about the Building Towards the Sky task.  It’s just there…ignore it as much as possible.

There is another task that will popup once the main questline is complete and that’s the Running Out the Clock questline.  This is represented by sidebar_sideshowbob in the Task Bar.

Running Out the Clock is another set of tasks I advise on ignoring.  From what I can tell there are 6 total parts and completing each part will award you 100 ico_terwilligers_musicnotes_lg.  Each task requires you to Squish Bob Clones and Craft Items (Part one requires 100 Bob clones and you to craft 10 items).  Again, this is something I HIGHLY advise on ignoring…it’ll just drive you crazy and the reward to 100 ico_terwilligers_musicnotes_lg just isn’t worth it (IMO).  Just focus on playing as you would play, craft what you want to craft and do your best to ignore the Running Out the Clock task.

So to sum up….ignore BOTH the Building Towards the Sky task AND the Running Out the Clock task.  They’re both not necessary to complete and will just drive you crazy.  Focus on your crafting goals instead…if you achieve something by accident great, if not no worries.

And that concludes the main questline info for this Third Act of the Terwilliger Event.  And concluding the finale of the Terwilliger Event!

Remember…we always encourage you NOT to use donuts to speed up the questline.  Donuts are always better spent for items instead of speeding up tasks/questlines.

What are your thoughts on the Act Three questline for the Terwilliger Event?  Thoughts on the prizes/crafting items offered for Act Three? Are you happy with how it ended?  Or do you feel like there was a little more to be desired with the dialogue?  Sound off in the comments below, you know we love hearing from you!

  1. Are any prizes awarded for completing Running Out The Clock Pt 1? I’m a little annoyed they expect me to craft 10 items in the last two to three days of the event after I’ve already crafted well over a dozen during the last few weeks. I’d rather not burn donuts if I don’t have to. But if the prize is worth it I will.

  2. Hey everyone,
I was wondering if anyone knows when Cecil daily tasks will be over and when he will become a regular character?
I have grown to really like this event so I’m hoping there will be some sort of secret act 4. Thanx and have fun.

  3. Thanks for the sage advice, as always!

  4. When do we earn donuts as part of the quesine i remember someone mentioning that on one of these pages

  5. My most frustrating thing is that I missed a week, because I feared I would drive up my dad’s cellular phone bill due to data roaming charges I procured due to my travel in a foreign country. By the end of the second week after using up data on a prepaid foreign sim card, I thought, screw it, and played TSTO anyway. Because of this, I didn’t get any Act one prizes, became far behind on crafting currency, and now I’m fussing all over which currency I should get first and which prize I should get first.

Of course, I’m a whole lot happier when I finally get one-hour tasks, cause if you are persistent enough, you can actually earn more by using the one-hour tasks eight times than using the eight-hour tasks once.

But I dunno if actually using that method is actually hurting me more than helping me. -.-

My next question, what to craft first once I earn enough to get at least one of them. Especially the simpsons house boat. I’d like to have another boat on my dock. And if I might be able get…to level 45 main quests while I’m at it? Currently building a building that unlocks Ms. Hoover and Cocoa Beanie.

    • Honestly it depends on what you want in your game. If there something you really want (like the houseboat), get it when you have enough for it.

  6. Should I focus on finishing the Phantom of the Opera Questline or use Bob to earn masks at this point? I’m sure I’ll get the Dame as it is and don’t need the 100 notes. Thanks!

I’ve enjoyed the event, but since act 2 kicked in, I haven’t been able to visit any of my friends Springfields – resulting in a lot of lost treats from my neighbours. I reinstalled the game and it’s still happenin. Are there any ideas or similar goings on within the community? Adam

    This event has been crap

Mostly due to forcing players to log in every two hours if they want to craft everything

    • My problem with it is that i do that and i’m still not sure if i’ll make it(I’m Level 51 hourly player)..
Also Cecil’s tasks starting at 12am is quite annoying…
If i don’t craft everything i want I may hang up my TSTO after this event…

  9. Done! 🙂

  10. Just want to point out for some people who say they are having trouble crafting things, it really matters how many characters you have. I am at level 35 but still working on level 25 tasks so I don’t have a ton of characters. Crafting is very very slow but I managed to get Gas n Grub and the smokehouse (I skipped the market). The big prizes are attainable just not easily. It takes some planning and attention and you have to decide what you are shooting for. It can be frustrating but I have fun with the math and strategizing. Fortunately this awesome site gives us all the data we need to make detailed plans. Thank you, TSTOA!

    • yeah, I’ve got a spreadsheet with my must haves summed up, and my wish list as well.

I know I’m fine with corn, but if I want cane fields, cactus patches, and glee walks I need a lot more fertilizer since they all need it.

Right now working toward two of each, but we’ll see.

  11. Thomas the menace

Hello, very often people are occupied (with tasks for masks e. g.) that are then required for a new Cecile task. Who should one keep free to cover many groups (like kids, entrepreneurs,…) with few people?

    Many thanks in advance. 🙂

    • Check the main Cecil Posts for some hints. It really depends on who YOU have in your town. 😉

    • My advice is don’t keep anyone free…just free up characters as you need them by storing the building they came with. I wasted the opportunity to get a lot more crafting materials by using the “keeping characters free” strategy before I realized that it was actually a bad idea. The only people for whom I’d still support that strategy would be players who REALLY need in-game cash and can’t afford to reset any of their buildings’ payout clocks. (And, even then, it might not make sense, because, for example, Quimby can be freed up by storing the Town Hall, which isn’t a money-earning building anyway.)
