The Terwilligers are making their way back into Springfield! And with this event there are a bunch of new premium items in our stores for purchase, and earlier last week another item was introduced for a limited-time…Captain Bob! Now I know you may be trying to decide if this is worth YOUR donuts, but don’t sweat it! We’re here to tell you what’s worth the donuts and what you might want to hold off on.
Wondering if you should add Captain Bob to YOUR Springfield? Well before you hit that confirm button let’s break down the pros and cons of adding this wannabe opera star to YOUR Springfield!
Character: Captain Bob
Donut Price: 100 Donuts
What Does it Do: Skin for Sideshow Bob (no, this is NOT how you get Sideshow Bob. This is just an extra skin for him)
Pros:
-Earns at a premium rate (50% more on all cash and XP)
-Comes with a questline
-Captain Bob has a couple of outdoor tasks
Cons:
-Expensive for just a skin
-Offers no help to the Terwilliger Event. You’ll need regular Sideshow Bob to earn Crafting Materials, when he’s Captain Bob he won’t earn anything.

Premium Take:
This is a nice to have, but do you really need it? While yes, Captain Bob does have some visual tasks (and earns at a premium rate) will you spend more time having Sideshow Bob as himself or as Captain Bob? If the answer is as Sideshow Bob, then it’s probably not worth it for you to get Captain Bob. Plus 100 donuts is pretty steep for a skin, even for a premium player.
Freemium Take:
I think this one is a freemium pass. In my mind you’re MUCH better off spending donuts on an actual character and not a skin for an existing character. So I think Captain Bob is a freemium pass for sure.
Of course in the end it’s your decision, we can only tell you what we would/wouldn’t do…and I can tell you, I do think I’ll be passing on this one. Personally, I’ll be using Sideshow Bob as Sideshow Bob in my game the most often (come on, how can you resist that rake task?!). However, whatever you decide just remember that this skin will be leaving our stores when the Terwilliger Event ends so if you’re thinking about it getting it make sure you make your final decisions before the event ends or you’ll miss your chance.

When you said location is Visual, what place is this?
Means that it’s a visual task. i.e. you can see it. It’s visual to you
Hey I thought this was a pretty cool skin thanks for the review on it I picked it up just a while ago although I must ask why isn’t bob voiced he has literally the best voice ever and is a fan favorite I mean guisseppe got voiced and he only appeared in one episode ah well it’s just me i guess just curious about it but thanks for the reviews glad to have updates on the event makes things easier!!
Because SSB isn’t voiced by one of the big 6. Any character not voiced by one of the big 6 is not voiced in the game…
Aw that sucks I didn’t know that I was really hoping for him to be voiced so the collider dr.collosus and every body from the super hero event was voiced by them? Dang it! But then why does stamps have the sound FX and Mr.tenny doesn’t
Hard to say. Some are just randomly voiced with various sounds, while others aren’t
I’m surprised that his 12 hour task doesn’t take place on the Simpson’s house boat like it should. EA really screwed that one up.

It’s just that… The only thing he does outside is sing opera.. And he already dresses as captain Bob when you have regular Bob go “sing opera” sooooo…. Yeah….
Glad I waited for this post, this is now a definite pass for me. I thought it was pricey for just a skin but seeing what tasks are visual means I won’t make good use of it.
None of the premium items in this event have given me “must buy!” vibe. Unlike the superhero event when I was buying donuts at up to $100,000 each, so I could pick up Plotter and the Bartman skin.
Now… meh.

Is it just me or the act 3 currency drop (musical notes) changed from 3 to 5 after the recent patch?
Got it. Wish he was voiced but can’t complain too much because we finally have a full sideshow bob character
Captain Bob – if you can afford to buy this skin for Sideshow Bob? Then more power to you – but the fact remains having Sideshow Bob dress up as Captain Bob ( and doing said tasks) does not help you during this Event (sorry EA, making this an item to purchase during the Event time only is an epic fail) … 🙁
Hey I’m getting the weirdest glitch ever. I have frozen masked squirrels and animals drawn to look electrocuted on my screen. I want to post a screen shot to show people. Wtf is going on? There’s no squirrels in this game
The Muntz’s house, when animated, has a raccoon being electrocuted on the roof. Maybe that’s it?
I haven’t decided on this one yet, but I’m leaning towards purchasing. EA could very easily have made Sideshow Bob a very pricey premium character and I think most of us would have happily paid the donuts to get him. The fact that he was obtainable without donuts is a plus. Purchasing the skin for 100 donuts is justified because I would have paid that for him alone…so getting him and a skin for only 100 donuts isn’t too shabby 🙂
Purchased the skin almost immediately because HMS Pinafore Bob (He is an Englishman!) is much better than “Meet your Raker” and it’s audible queues.
I wish this had been the prize I place of Opera Krusty….I love Captain Bob and I already have a few Krusty skins. But I’m not going to pay 100 donuts for a skin. 🙁
I know this isn’t about bob, but I’m curious I got the graveyard, and I guess the guy that goes with it, but when I put the grave down, no guy appeared, is this a glitch

What are my thoughts on Captain Bob? I think this is one of the worse offers EA has ever made. I’m not mad or hatin’, just spittin’ troof. lol
100D for *JUST* a skin?!? Not a full character, no building, nothing else… just one skin. At best rates that’s $4.

Is there a chance of any future Bob costumes? Because if there is, I’d rather opt for a Jailbird Bob costume (not sure what else to call it, y’know the orange or blue jail outfit) or something.

I love side show bob. I grabbed this without a second thought. I did wish that he was voiced. Hearing Kelsey Grammar would have been awesome.
I snatched this skin up, but yeah I would’ve gladly paid a few more sprinkles for some voicing. At least for someone as iconic as SSB.
