Should I Spend Donuts on the Rolling Rock?

Hey Howdy Hey Tappers!

The Terwilligers are making their way back into Springfield! And with this event there are a bunch of new premium items in our stores for purchase, and earlier last week another item was introduced for a limited-time…the Rolling Rock!  Now I know you may be trying to decide if this is worth YOUR donuts, but don’t sweat it!  We’re here to tell you what’s worth the donuts and what you might want to hold off on.

Wondering if you should add the Rolling Rock to YOUR Springfield?  Well before you hit that confirm button let’s break down the pros and cons of adding this rock and roll to YOUR Springfield!

rollingrock_menu

Building/Decoration: Rolling Rock
Donut Price: 80 Donuts
Bonus %: 3.5% bonus on all cash and XP
Conform-O-Meter: Vanity +1200
Where Can I Place It?:  Grass Only

Unique?: Yes, only 1 per Springfield

Pros:
-Really nice bonus % awarded, at 3.5%
-Always animated

Cons:
-No questlines associated with it
-No character interaction & doesn’t come with a new character
-Can be a bit out of place in Springfield

Final Thought:
Premium Take:
Honestly, this one is a tossup for me.  It’s one of those items you’re either going to grab because you like it or you’re going to pass on because meh, what do you need it for?
It does have a nice bonus % associated with it and if it’s something you like and have fond Simpson memories of pick it up.

Freemium Take:
I think this one is a freemium pass.  While it does offer a nice bonus %, I just don’t think it’s worth it for a freemium player.   And I know for freemium players those sprinkles are hard to come by, so pass on this one and save them for something better down the road.

Of course in the end it’s your decision, we can only tell you what we would/wouldn’t do…and I can tell you, I’m still undecided about getting this one. I think, for me, this will come down to a last minute decision.  However, whatever you decide just remember that this Rolling Rock will be leaving our stores when the Terwilliger Event ends so if you’re thinking about it getting it make sure you make your final decisions before the event ends or you’ll miss your chance.

  1. Same bonus % as the Mount Carlmore but it costs 40 donuts less I think that I will grab it on 24th of May when it will be available again for the Wild West Event 2016

  2. i always see pass for freemium players here ^^

so what exactly would be the best thing you should get first as a freemium player?

    • Hard to say really. Depends on what you’re looking for..bonus % or character? Bonus % Jet engine bike. Character…really any building/character combo under 150. I like Akira, he’s a nice buy at only 100 donuts.

  3. No questlines associated with it
    No character interaction
    No new character

    Why offer this EA?
    Why the 1/2 attempts? 🙁

  4. I think I’ll get it. I’ve seen it a friends town and I think it’ll look kinda neat by my Springfield mountain sign, waterfall, Mount Carlmore, and devil’s anvil area.

I *long* for the return of Springfield Falls! It was released before I started playing. I really wish they’d bring it back in a sale!

  5. I’m passing on this one. This would look nice as part of a desert area, but I’m struggling enough as it is to get the Simpson’s houseboat that I don’t think I’m going to be able to craft any cactus patches.

  6. I’ve seen it in a couple of neighbor’s towns, and it actually makes me a bit motion sick to watch it, so it’s a definite pass for me!

What is nice about having neighbors who own pieces like this is you don’t have to spend anything to buy it , just pop by your neighbor and enjoy it in their town. 😉

  7. Was the update this afternoon, just a patch?
My town was cleared of Bob-Cobs before I came back & got the update, so I don’t know if anything there changed.

  8. I liked the idea of it, but I was a little underwhelmed by the size and animation once I bought it. I recommend checking it out in a friend’s town first if possible before buying it.

  9. OrdinarilyBob

I have a couple friends who love it and bought it right away, but for me it was a pass.

  10. The Problem Child

It does fit nicely with Satan’s Anvil, but Satan’s Anvil does dwarf it a bit.

    • Yet another thing I wish they’d bring back, Satan’s Anvil. I missed it the first time it came around since I wasn’t playing back then.

      • Oh don’t worry, it really for me is just a hog of land, because it’s really big. No interactions with characters, a little animation, it’s so good it’s been sitting in my storage ever scince I got it.

  11. Is anyone else getting the Bart screen? I haven’t had a chance to log in since this morning. Today is my day off & want u send my saints out every hour.

  12. Where is Gil when you need him, time to stock up on more donuts!

    • my guess is he will show up in the last couple days with something overpriced. unlikely they will give us cheap doughnuts mid event.
