In our silly lil game, we sometimes see things pop in that we have no clue as to their Origin. They seem familiar, but we just can’t pinpoint from where. So that is why we decided to make a fun lil reminder out of it. To let you know just Where Did THAT Come From?
For this post, we’ll be taking a look at one of the craftable items in the Terwilleger event… the Welcome to Springfield Proud Home of Sideshow Bob Sign or Welcome Bob Sign as the game calls it. So why is this in our games? It obviously ties in to all the Terwilleger madness but how? Let’s take a look at the TV Series to find out.
“Brother From Another Series” (S8:E16)
So it should come as no surprise that yet another item from the Terwilleger Event should come from a Sideshow Bob episode. This one has to do with SSB being released from prison under the work-release program. He’s going to work for his brother Cecil. (That’s right, we meet Cecil in this episode too. Cecil is voiced by David Hyde Pierce who just so happens to have played another brother to SSB’s Kelsey Grammer in the show Frasier hence the punny title.) Cecil Terwilliger is the Chief Hydrological and Hydrodynamical engineer responsible for building the Springfield Dam. Anywho… when Bob is released from prison and driving away with his brother wondering if his favorite shampoo is still being made, they drive right past our new sign. It’s in the process of being painted.
And that’s really about it. Considering how upset the town was with his release, the sign doesn’t make a ton of sense. What do you think of it? Wondering like me who paid for the sign? I’m guessing Cecil had something to do with it. Not really much else to say about this item. Just a quick blip that’s now available in our games. At least the placement can make you think of the first appearnace of Cecil. Also a neat way to mark the appearance of a playable Sideshow Bob. I admit this line is both funny and clever reference to Sideshow Bob, however the gift box like her and gave me a Premium Itchy and Scratchy Sign (that is animated), so its on my Monsarno Property (lol) 😉

Enjoy your trip! I go camping at Myrtle Beach State Park twice a year and at least once a year in Hot Springs NC. I’m usually just out of reach of a cell signal and finding WIFI is a pain. Like you I want to get all the TSTO goodies, but I also go camping to be out of reach my digital life and focus on family or friends. I hope the weather is great and the camp fire burns all night!!
I invested in an ipad a long time ago. The only problem I have, if you could call it that, is having to click more than once on a character. And that’s an EA glitch. Issues that others are having are foreign to me and sounds like mostly playing on a phone. To (mis-)quote Buck Rogers, “I never met a cell phone I could trust.” If your budget will allow, invest in a device like an IPad. 🙂
Kelsey Grammer and David Hyde Pierce have one of the best connections as co-stars, they play off one another so well. I am a huge Frasier fan which makes me love Cecil and Bob even more!

You guys always to a great job with these posts but wondering when (unless I missed it) there will be a post of Opra Krusty’s side storyline. Though I feel I’m almost finished with it.
It’s coming. Only so many hours in the day. With all these new updates from EA it keeps pushing things back and makes my post list grow.
Do you know when the event is going to end?
I know your calander says May 26th but other places are saying it is June 4th.
As of right now we can only go by the end date indicated in the game…which is May 26th. The game itself says…event ends then. However, there are extra days built into the files as a “kill date” or June 4th.
HOWEVER….originally when items like Gino and Francesca were introduced their timers indicated they ended on June 4th. Since then…the timers have been updated to indicate that they’ll leave on May 26th. But there’s still the 4th date lingering in the files. So my assumption is that’ll come into play. HOWEVER…I’m not going to sit here and tell you June 4th and have you base everything on that. The game says may 26th and that’s what we go by. I’d hate to tell you “oh no you have until June 4th” and then have everything end May 26th..
Think of how ticked you’d be at me? And how upset I’d be for you if you missed out on stuff because of what I said.
So…we’re going by the end date in the game. It says event ends May 26th (at least that’s where the countdown is going) and that’s what we’re going by. So base everything off of May 26th.
Maybe there’s will be an extra “final” line, like in Superheroes Event, and we will have to fight with a boss or something else 🙂
I crafted this a couple days ago and now I’m kind of regretting it, it’s cool and all, but I cant find a good placement for it.
How big was the sign if you don’t mind me asking? I am debating between it or multiple cactus patches. Cheers!

It’s a good size, not sure of the exact size, it’s about the same size, maybe a tiny big bigger, than the Itchy & Scratchy billboard
I would really like this sign in my town and hope to be able to craft it eventually?! I think it will make a great addition to the hit point where you enter the game and neighbours visit after the event is over. I feel proud I have got Sideshow Bob and he IS welcome in my town : )

Is anyone else having an issue with the game crashing every few minutes? I’ve had issues since this update started.
I have issues with this all the time, since before this update. Try turning your phone on and off to clear out some RAM, normally does it for me for a day or so.
I crash a few times if going into a town that hasn’t been cleared of Corn Bob’s for a few hours, think there might be too much going on in that town and the game hiccups. Other than that, just the random cannot connect to server.
I’ve only had it a couple of times, both of which we at lunchtime today.
