In our silly lil game, we sometimes see things pop in that we have no clue as to their Origin. They seem familiar, but we just can’t pinpoint from where. So that is why we decided to make a fun lil reminder out of it. To let you know just Where Did THAT Come From?
This post I will be going over the Origin of the Springfield Police Department Blimp. Introduced into our games as the first prize of Terwilleger Event Act III, this decoration skin is pretty cool. But what the heck does SPringfield PD need a blimp for? Where does it come from in The Simpsons? Let’s take a look at the TV Series to find out.
“500 Keys” (S22:E21)
The Duff Blimp is a big part of this episode. Courtesy of a giant wedding cake and Maggie locking herself in the car, the Simpsons family finds a stockpile of keys in their key drawer. Among all the keys are a mailbox key, window washer lift key and a spare to Springfield Elementary. The entire B plot of the episode revolves around Homer finding a key to the Duff Brewery where he takes none other than the Duff Blimp for a spin.
I know, I know, you’re probably saying, hey Wook, this post is about the Springfield PD Blimp, not the Duff Blimp but don’t worry, I’m getting there. As Homer is galivanting around, he’s tailed by Wiggum and Lou in their very own blimp. Unfortunately for the po-pos, they crash into a Cirque du Soleil Zoomanity billboard and Homer gets away.
So there you go friends. Our new blimp is so Wiggum can patrol the skies against casual drunk blimping by Homer. Makes perfect sense and looks pretty cool docked near the police station. What do you think of it? Where’d you place it? Sound off and stay classy.

Is this a unique item? I’ve been thinking I’ve stumbled across a glitch with this item as I actually have two of these in my Springfield. I have a lot of friends on my list and so far I have only ever seen one in their town. I’m also assuming because this is a prize item and not able to be crafted or anything that its unique. Has anyone else come across this or has anyone themselves received two (or more) of these as well?
It is unique, but that glitch has been going around since the start of the event. However, if you store it you won’t be able to pull the extra back out

I haven’t decided where its permanent home will be. I toyed with it by my police station but didn’t really like it there so at the moment it’s just sitting out in the middle of the ocean.
I just put it in front of the police station same as most people 🚅
I have my PD blimp scoping out the Springfield Bank and next door happens to be the new Opera House.
