In our silly lil game, we sometimes see things pop in that we have no clue as to their Origin. They seem familiar, but we just can’t pinpoint from where. So that is why we decided to make a fun lil reminder out of it. To let you know just Where Did THAT Come From?
For this origin post, we’ll be taking a look at the cactus patch and Simpson houseboat that appeared as craftable items with Act 3 of the Terwilleger Event. At first, both might seem like they have nothing to do with Sideshow Bob but they do and actually come from the same episode. In another Terwilleger event two-fer, I decided to pair the two. So what do they have to do with the Terwilligers? How can a patch of desert and a boat appear in the same episode? Let’s take a look at the TV Series to find out.
“Cape Feare” (S5:E2)
Of all the Sideshow Bob episodes that have ever appeared on the Best. Show. Ever., this one is definitely my favorite. Written originally for Season 4 but held over to the 5th season, it is actually is the last episode written by the original Simpsons writers and a parody of the movie Cape Fear. Anywho… you’re here for origins so let’s get started.
The Simpsons kids get letters. “All hail General Krull, sincerely, little girl.” Ok… that’s Lisa’s letter but Bart gets one too and the author says they’re going to kill him. Heck, lots and lots of letters written in blood have arrived.
Who would want to hurt this century’s Dennis the Menace? Sideshow Bob of course. He’s still upset about Bart foilied his schemes twice like when he tried to frame Krusty for armed robbery. Not just letters but dedications by radio too. Poor Fatty Fat Fat Fat is really worried and sees murderers everywhere. Somehow he still doesn’t know it’s Bob. I guess Bart is safe as long as he’s still in prison.
Oh no… Bart is up for parole and so ticked he got Die Bart Die tattooed on his chest. Just to let you know, die does mean “the” in German but we all know it’s not a tribute. Bob is released and it doesn’t look good for Bart in the not getting murdered department. There is a fix though, the witness relocation program. Our favorite family is off either Cape Fear, Terror Lake, New Horrorville, Screamville… Mr. Thompson and his family choose Terror Lake.
Sideshow Bob hitches a ride under the family’s UTow but it’s not the best place to ride considering Homer likes speedbumbs, pouring coffee out of the car AND driving through cactus patches.
At Terror Lake, we see that the new digs for the Simpsons family now lives is a houseboat.
The chair we see on the front deck has to do with a later scene involving Bob but that’s covered in detail in the Captain Bob post. Let’s just say the chair would be the perfect place to watch a certain criminal perform the score of the H.M.S. Pinafore.
So there’s your two new decorations friends! There’s much more in this episode but I have to insist that you watch it. I mean, this episode is also the origin of Sideshow Bob’s other archnemesis… the rake which is his 60 min task in TSTO.

I love the houseboat…….but won’t reach the target items to craft in fact I have only been able to craft the gmo buildings so will look to craft smaller items.
How big is the cactus patch? Since the price drop in crafting, was wondering how many I might could try and get to actually use. Most of the crafting decorations will need plenty multiple to be worth crafting

Happy Friday…..I’ve crafted the houseboat, gas n grub, canes fields, smokehouse and farmers market. I’ve opted out of crafting the flower wall and I’m on the fence about the cactus patch and the Homer Decoy too.
Just an observation but since yesterday’s update my Bob Clones have been leaving seeds at a higher rate again. Anyone else notice?

So…..as the crafting tasks “finish” they disappear ( the box task). How am I to get the required resources to craft anything? I’ve got some characters who are down to getting soil only when previously they had other tasks for DNA and corn? At this rate I will not be able to get the houseboat from a lack of tasks!
Ideas?
The tasks are all still there, they just may not be highlighted in yellow (although they should be). But all of the tasks for characters to earn the items will be there until the event ends…
I did look 4 them under the regular tasks b4 saying anything. However, today they seem to be back. Must have been a glitch. Thanks!
Ps do others still sometimes get fragmented buildings or bizarre fountains?
I’m Trying to decide wether to get tge boat or Gas n Gryb. Which would you recommend?
Gas and Grub…only because it impacts consumerism and a lot of people have a hard time maxing that out.
Well, I crafted the Simpsons House Boat, as well as the Sani John Smokehouse (lol), but I do not know what else I will craft as it will depend on what craft items (and how many) I can obtained within the next 4 days …
I do feel I have obtained just about everything I can from this Event (running out of space until EA offers more land). Yes, this was a classic episode of the original Simpsons writing team … 😉

Dang! Everyones got everything! I only have Farmers market and the Gas N grub! My Monsarno is at level 14, Herbicide is 3, and Opera stage is 6. I WONT do anymore leveling up after opera is level 7. More than likely, Ill only have leftovers for the end of the event, thats means 1 cactus patch. There is NO WAY i’m getting the houseboat unless I rush it up with 346 donuts! I have 1702 fertilizer 5411 corn 552 DNA and 2690 theater masks. 🙁

It really helped me to upgrade my Herbicide Sprayer. It increases the payout from sqishing Bob clones. You might want to research it on here to see if it’s worth it considering your time frame. I think I went up to level 15 on it.
So….the Houseboat should actually be place’able on river/lake water within our Springfields. Humph 🙁
If the boat could be placed on a river or small lake, I’m not sure if I would be the first to create a wide river… place the boat… and then delete all the water around and under it. LAND HO!
