In our silly lil game, we sometimes see things pop in that we have no clue as to their Origin. They seem familiar, but we just can’t pinpoint from where. So that is why we decided to make a fun lil reminder out of it. To let you know just Where Did THAT Come From?
For this origin post, we’ll be taking a look at the Homer Decoy that appeared as a craftable items with Act 3 of the Terwilleger Event. At first, both might seem like they have nothing to do with Sideshow Bob but they do and actually come from the same episode. In another Terwilleger event two-fer, I decided to pair the two. So what do they have to do with the Terwilligers? How can a patch of desert and a boat appear in the same episode? Let’s take a look at the TV Series to find out.
“The Great Louse Detective” (S14:E6)
Record breaking vacuuming, Dr. Ma-Seuss, massaging turtles and someone is out to kill Homer. Yes, my friends, that’s all in the first four and a half minutes of this episode. There’s all sorts of ways to protect Homer including bringing in Sideshow Bob because he understands the twisted minds of murderers.
In a different kind of SSB episode, Bob actually tries to help Homer find his killer rather than kill Bart. Homer has a big list of enemies: Mr. Burns, Fat Tony, the Emperor of Japan, Ex-President Bush, the late Frank Grimes, PBS, Stephen Hawking, the fat little Dixie Chick and the state of Florida. He’s an ordinary man with a lot of enemies, a people person… who drinks. Bob follows Homer all over but his best idea is setting a Homer decoy.
All that’s left is lying in wait like “hungry Cassius for noble Caesar.” Problem is, lots of people want to see Homer hurt including Moe, Patty & Selma, Willy, Reverend Lovejoy and even himself.
Bob does end up finding out the identity of the killer but I’d hate to ruin the surprise ending. I’m sure that’s what the internet is for. I will say the moment at the end when Bob can’t kill Bart and sings is awesome.
Anywho, there’s your origin for the Homer Decoy. Like it? Have it displayed proudly in front of the Simpson home? Sound off below and stay classy.
TTFN… Wookiee out!
Hello, I was just wondering if there is any chance the Homer Decoy will be brought back as a premium item to buy?
Thank you in advance. 🙂
It’s possible at some point in the future
falling short on this event… ; /
to craft the HomerDecoy i would have to spent my some precious FreemiumDonuts
Homer Decoy – I lol at this, I don’t know if this item will be the last things for me to craft … 😉
Does the decoy actually do anything?
It’s animated (meaning it’ll spin around the line)
Can anybody who has already crafted this confirm if it is unique or if we can craft more than one? Thanks! (Sorry if this was answered somewhere already and I just missed it.)
This is not unique…you can craft more than one

Thank you 🙂
I find it funny that the dummy has the same pastier complexion as (the new game version of) SSB.
I crafted the decoy this afternoon and when went to move it, I accidentally hit the Bart/Milhouse neighbour button… initiating this latest auto-update.
After discovering that some items were discounted, I checked here and found out the decoy was not on the decreased materials required list.
Minor meltdown averted.
Its a cool item and looks good. Considering how many people have tasks that require Homer (variety of fighting him mostly) I was hoping it would let use this and still have Homer free but alas
I thought I wanted one until I saw it moving in a neighbor’s town. It kinda freaks me out, so I’ll skip it and craft some more cane fields instead.
I find it a little creepy too. It’s the way that the decoy is hanging by its neck reminds me of suicide too much.
I actually really like this item and am glad I got it. I see a lot of commentors are going to pass it up though.
I giggle a little each time I accidentally tap it really thinking Homer is walking around. I keep it in the area with Herman’s military store with hanging training bags. It fit right in the scene.
That’s a clever idea! One of the reasons I was so surprised to see a lot of folks interested in crafting that was because I was having trouble thinking of how folks were going to manage to incorporate it into their towns. (I know I couldn’t think of anywhere I’d want it in mine…) But I think your plan is a great one!
Looks like some last minute Donut purchases for Terwillinger Event just went live:

Giant Grasshopper – 35 Donuts +0.75% XP/Jobs
Pet Mutant Seedling – 40 Donuts
The Rad-ish station – 200 donuts + 5.0% XP/Jobs

Just cought a update to the 15.1 MB set and the 518.8 MB set. Patching for the End of Terwiliger-mania?
I’m working on getting more dna to craft it but still unsure on if it will work in my town. Hopefully, like with the opera post, someone will screen shot and it’ll help to decide.
And always, many thanks for all the helpful insight and work you all put into this site!
OMG OMG OMG i just got brandine 🙂 i just missed her last time now she be havin a spukler just like Alissa lol…
lol only hers will come a lot faster than mine! 😉
🙂 she might pop 2 or 3 by ur due date lol be grateful ur not in my game ha…
lol 1 yes…2 maybe. 3 for sure not 😉
Need 3300 masks to get this item. Trying my best, not sure if is possible in the final days.
I haven’t crafted it yet, but probably will by the end of the day.
In an unrelated note, a mini update must have hit, because I have new items in my store and they (finally) seem to have fixed the glitch where event tasks are now highlighted and at the top of each character’s task menu. Yay!
Is my math wrong or did they just cut crafting prices in half?
And they finally fixed the glitch and all tasks are showing up in yellow again.
They made changes…i’ve got to look through. Just added the premium characters to the post, but need to adjust crafting as well now lol
