Springfield Showoff: Outdoor Opera House

As we sit here frakkin files, pulling pics, and typing a million words a minute to get our readers the latest updates and information…we find ourselves sometimes forgetting to stop and enjoy our own games. More so our neighboreenos. So we try to make it a point to hop in n out of the towns now and then to see what cool things YOU are up to. So we have decided we want to continue to focus more attention (as if we don’t already 😛 ) on YOU…our readers. Time to time we will be peaking into your towns, checking our Flickr, and also the posts in the comments below to see what cool ideas and designs YOU have come up with to make your towns unique and…well…YOU. So here is YOUR chance to show off all your hard work, time, donuts & in game cash spent. Send us your work, no matter how big or small. Brag about it to the world. We want you to. (That and Bunny loves to see other designs and get inspiration from it.) Then keep your eyes posted to Addicts to see if YOU end up on our “SPRINGFIELD SHOWOFF”.

Showoff Opera House

Well the Terwilliger Event has brought a little culture to our Springfield’s, with the Outdoor Opera House!  Now that it’s been a couple weeks since the Opera House was introduced, I thought now would be a great time to show us your designs!  As it can always be a little intimidating, and frustrating, trying to figure out just where to put all this stuff…so who better to turn to than our fellow Addicts?  As usual you guys came through with your submissions in a big way!  You guys have some great designs and ideas for all that stuff, so let’s take a look!

First here’s a look at the submissions via Facebook, Twitter and Flickr…

Whew!  You guys really liked showing off your towns!  And we loved checking them out!  You all did such a great job…you gave us some great ideas! What did you all think of your fellow Addict’s designs?  Sound off in the comments below, you know we love hearing from you!

For next week’s showoff we want to feature your favorite designs from Terwilligers (try not to submit the Opera House or Monsarno again…think things like the Farmer’s Market, Gas and Grub etc).   So try to have your submissions in by 8pm EDT on Friday 5/29. We’ll have another Showoff reminder…but just wanted to give y’all a heads up.  So get those designs going…we can’t wait to see your designs!

Do you want to be featured on the next Springfield Showoff?  Post your images to the Addicts Flickr, share them in the Comments below, share your images on our Facebook Page, Link them to our Twitter feed, or email us your screenshots at TSTOAddictsblog@gmail.com. We can’t wait to see YOUR designs! (Need help with images, just ask.)

  1. Loads of tapping I can hear it all the way over hear! Great effort to all !

  2. Finally getting around to posting mine! Glowing plexiglass pillars add a nice romantic ambiance to any venue, don’t you think? Floating bodies are just a plus….

  4. Beautiful designs once again. The 3D layouts rightly always get lots of praise for their ingenuity, but I also really like the 2D ones for their simplistic artistry. Well done all round!

  5. Well done everybody, great designs. 👏

  6. Love John F, Airman Dave and John G. Other great ones too

  7. Anyone elses game not loading correctly? When I log in it says level 52 but when it opens it takes me back to the very beginning at level 1. I have logged off and on but to no avail. Any help on this matter will be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

  8. I’m surprised so many people came up with nice designs for this eyesore. Mine is just sitting there waiting for this event to end so it can be stored away.

  9. I’m so glad I didn’t enter – my opera house is definitely not worthy! But, nedescobar160, how did you craft THAT many flower walls and opera seats???

  10. Erika Fournier (BraveElfgirl1994)

Is it possible to get 2,750 more DNA before the event is over?

    • Depends on how often you’re in your game and grinding. It’s possible, but you have to be in your game a lot and clear the tasks as soon as they can be

  11. Great job, everyone! I honestly like every single one of these. I know this isn’t a contest, but here are my personal favorites (in no particular order): 1) John F, for the clever use of castle walls; 2) cuavsfan, for the queue and matching burgundy banners; 3) FlashFire, for the bonsai border and incorporation of the house boat; 4) kavegirlie, for the 3D design and steps into the lower pit; 5) AirmanDave, for the rooftop and finding a positive use for the Easter fences; 6) Pierre B, for the comical sight of Zutroy zonked out on a bench in the audience seating; 7) Rose, for the symmetrical design and pretty borders; 8) Tiff, for the ascending steps and backstage made of training walls; and 9) Tapebelt, for being the Ted Williams of TSTO design.

  12. So many awesome designs! Too many new ideas. I love the sort of “dinner-theater” concept in many of the designs. I think I’ll try to see how to incorporate that into my design.
And tapebelt….hats off to you! Absolutely love the look of your design. I bet the rest of your town is very cool!

Love the Showoff opportunities! This was my first one!

    • DaPimp I really like your design and think I will prob move mine to the port after the event.

By far my favourite post as I love looking at everyones designs! So much creativity with a somewhat bland bit of building!

      • Thanks for saying that. I really like the look of it on Squidport better than land, and not many items can go on there anyway. Plus you get to save some land by doing that.

  13. Tapebelt your design is awesome. I’d like to see your whole town as well. Anyone can add me I have spots left for neighbors vursifyre1915

  14. Tapebelt, your design is fantastic! I’m sure you’ve put a lot of thought and time into your designs, very impressive.
To everyone else, great designs and love looking at everyone’s hard work!

    Val

  15. Never thought of putting the Opera House and the Money Pile on the boardwalk, never even thought they could go there. That would save some land for alot of people, more than likely even myself one day when I redo my town. Still not at the max capacity land yet so not too worried right now.

  16. Here is mine. I’ll probably end up changing it. Those ones that were posted look so much better. And give me more ideas. And I’m getting better with the 3d aspect too so I may make something along those lines. Sometime.

  17. Tapebelt, I really like your designs. You must have a beautiful town! Talk about inspiration for so many people. That’s why I like the show-offs so much; for inspiration. Tiff, I also like your designs. And, of course I have to give credit to the rest of you!
