Update 8:30am EDT 5/26: Yup, the event is still in our towns. Looks like my note indicated below about the app store removal is what will be required to officially remove it from our towns. I expect an update to hit sometime between 12pm-2pm (EDT),as that’s when they usually hit. For now you have a couple extra hours of Terwilligers….

Well, we’ve finally reached the end of the Terwilliger’s Event! And I know some of you will be thrilled to go back to normal and others will be wishing for one more day.
I know there’s a lot of questions about WHEN the Event actually ends (since the Farming License Shows longer on it’s counter than others)…here’s my take: It ends TOMORROW at 0800GMT (4am EDT)
I’d rather see everyone play it safe then end up sorry they missed out. So assume EVERYTHING ends tomorrow. Use up all of your crafting resources for what you want TODAY. Buy those premium items you want TODAY. Finish collecting those Act 3 prizes TODAY.
Don’t chance it until tomorrow. Finish everything you can TODAY, anything extra will be a bonus.
Note: Terwilligers will require an App Store update to completely remove from our games. Not 100% sure if this means you can artificially extend the event by delaying downloading the update. In the past it has, but this event is a little different. There’s timers built in associated with crafting and the prizes…so it’s up to you if you want to take that chance…personally I wouldn’t.
So let’s take a look at everything that ends tomorrow and what you’ll need to grab if you want it before it’s gone from the store…

Sideshow Bob
In order to unlock Sideshow Bob you HAVE to finish the Act 2 questline. In order to finish it you WILL NEED Mrs. Krabappel & Mayor Quimby in your game. For newer players, you may miss out. I suggest you contact EA and complain A LOT.
For older players…you MUST complete this questline to unlock him. So if you have both Mrs. K and Mayor Quimby you’re probably stalled somewhere else (and from what I’ve seen it’s usually upgrading Monsarno) you do HAVE TO upgrade Monsarno to Level 8 for the Act 2 questline.

Otherwise you will miss out on Sideshow Bob…
Cecil and his Tasks
Cecil Terwilliger should become a full playable character once the event ends. We won’t know for sure 100% until it ends but I think at this point it’s a safe bet…
As far as Cecil’s tasks. TODAY is the last day for them…it doesn’t look like we’ll see any at the 12am reset (of course i could be wrong, and if you see them (our Aussie friends) let me know). So if you don’t finish them today you won’t get credit for them..
So my friends…that’s it on the Terwilliger’s Event. And I REALLY hope you heed my advice…get everything you want TODAY because most likely it’ll be gone tomorrow. Don’t sit on crafting materials hoping for an extension…USE THEM. Otherwise you will regret it.

I am a new player, since a month ago, now level 15. I had no idea the end of this event would mean all the seeds I had just purchased would be lost. there was no warning given when you go to buy seeds. more encouragement than anything from EA. I am feeling rather discouraged, also that all the good items, even non essensials cost so many #$% bleeping donuts! how can one accumulate that many without buying them. like save them up for a few years? advice anyone? I do love the simpsons.
Are we getting Cecil after the patch or at all? Rule of thumb when crafting: Find the most expensive one to craft, and do that one first. Then work backwards to the least you want. That way you will never miss out on what you truly want. Just a thought. I thought the advise given by Alissa and the Crew in the beginning of the game was a sound strategy. I worked well for me. We have to remember that they don’t have any extra insight into these particular mechanics of the game. They have to “grind it out” like the rest of us. The difference is: TSTO:Addicts has to spend donuts to give us that inside look SO WE DON’T HAVE TO. Stay Gold! 🙂

I saw this on another TSTO wiki website. “Act 3 will end May 27th. The Kill date for the event is June 4th. Takedown begun May 27, 2015 and will end June 2nd, 2015.” Not sure how accurate it is but it seems likely based on what others are reporting. Sucks I blew my crafting supplies on subpar items. No boat in my future…Meh… Maybe another flower wall
As EA can change that at ANY time after the Event removal has been pushed, we never rely on any speculations. I have seen events force an update within 12hrs, I have seen them forced in a week. It is all borrowed time once the update is in the system, so work quickly and know you do so at YOUR own risk. You are now on borrowed time.
Kill dates are something entirely different. That means that items will be completely removed from the game files. Like questlines, characters, etc.
Yea I pulled the trigger early b/c i was afraid to loose everything. I only started playing the second week of the event so it’s been difficult trying to gather resources with limited characters but I think I did well. I’m already up to level 28 and I worked hard enough to get Bob about a week into Act 3. Also managed to scrape enough for the farmer’s market, a ticket booth, the GnG, and the flower walls (me blowing resources at the end). THANK YOU for all of the help and guidance y’all provide. The first week of my TSTO experience SUCKED but this site helped me to prioritize, be patient waiting for characters, and get friends to visit. I really appreciate all you guys do to demystify the game for us newbies and build the TSTO community :o)

Most of the prices and craftables items in this event were crap. Sani John Smokehouse? Monsarno walls and buildings? Mutant plant? WTF??!! I’m a long time Simpson fan, I think I watched quite every single episode until season 17 or 18, but I never heard about these things before I played TSTO. Crap, really.
There were only 3 or 4 items really interesting: house boat, homer decoy, Gas & Grub and, maybe, also Opera house. Well, concerning Opera House, most of us were not even allowed to get it, as we do not have high enough level in the game and not yet started Edna’s quests: great! And for the other ones, even playing hard each hour of the day from 7am to 11pm, I was able to get only one! If I had wanted to get more craftable items, I would have no choice but to buy donuts. Lot of donuts. Yeah, paywall!! Arrghh!
Finally, I bought yesterday the cactus patch when I was really close to have enough masks to buy the house boat… Hey but the event was ending, “hurry up, craft NOW or DIE”!
Well actually the event is not closed at all, today I probably would have got enough masks for the boat but I missed it. This game sucks. It really really sucks! I think I’m gonna stop to play it. Too much frustration with that stupid Terwilliger thing. And I hate Cecil! Boring and useless character.

I am a long time reader, but this is my first time commenting. I just wanted to say thank you very much for the great info and advice you gave over the event and for all the great info on the website, it takes a lot of time and dedication! Don’t listen to people griping, as you said, everyone makes their own choice. I would have held out for the Homer decoy if I’d know that the event carries on (it’s still going in the UK this morning), but I could have missed out just as well. I’m working towards the cane field now… But I will be glad when it’s finally over.

I think the reason a lot of people are mad is probably because they spent money to buy donuts to craft something before the event ended. But now the event is going on its second full day past the “event ending” deadline — people wouldn’t have needed to spend any REAL money (or at least not as much money) if they told us it wouldn’t be ending till today, vs. two days ago, because everyone would have had enough time to get enough or more of the supplies needed. It’s borderline unethical business since it probably caused lots of people to spend money when they maybe wouldn’t have needed to if they’d been honest with the end time.
Spent materials on a random opera house upgrade minutes before the event was supposed to end (crafting screen said ‘event ending craft items now’). As it happens I would have been able to get the Homer decoy by now! It’s the only item I still need (and want). Now desperately trying to scrape together another 1000 masks and DNA before an update is forced on me… It’s the only item I still need (and want). Another few hours please EA!
Anyone whos got the uppdate yet or is it comming the same time all over the world?

Hi all. Only started playing this insanely addictive game in early May. Due to low level I’ve got no Bob ( most annoying) but am glad that I discovered this brilliant site to give me some guidance. Crafted nothing but enjoyed what I could. Hoping to achieve a lot more in the next event. Cheers
PS/ As per asked…. I’m an Australian & still see reset for Cecil’s tasks as of midnight my time tonight. My time now is 5,20pm AEST (Aust Eastern Standard Time) 6pm my time is the usual changeover time for event endings & such. I’ll get back to you all when I know more! I worked very hard during this event to get all I wanted on my 2 games. As a retiree I don’t get out much. My ipad was open & running 6am to 9pm daily, then I awoke once or twice through the night to reset Cecil after midnight tasks. I’m closing out the event now. Got my last 3 donut bonus on both games about an hour ago. The only things I didn’t craft were the Bob sign & Homer decoy (didn’t like them & no space in my towns) I don’t actually watch the Simpsons show, so for me I can make a pass on that stuff!
Ok, I don’t know if this belongs here, its not really a WTD!. I was wondering, with all the focus on the farming industry (or lack there of) in the last event, “Why doesn’t EA create dirt/soil landplots?” I mean we have water, roads, concrete, even boardwalks, why no sand/dirt/soil?. I just bought 6 cactus plots and 6 cane fields from the last event. I would be great to place them over the appropriate land. I know they are busy, and probably have already thought of this. But it would have been a great addition to the event, a real Springfield changer! Anywho, I had fun, thanks guys! 🙂
