Where Did THAT Come From – Springfield YMCA

In our silly lil game, we sometimes see things pop in that we have no clue as to their Origin. They seem familiar, but we just can’t pinpoint from where. So that is why we decided to make a fun lil reminder out of it. To let you know just Where Did THAT Come From?

This post I will be going over the Origin of the Springfield YMCA. Introduced into our games with Level 52 for 120 donuts, this building comes with Coach Krupt. But what does the YMCA have to do with the Elementary School coach and Bombardment?  Let’s take a look at the TV Series to find out.

“Hello Gutter, Hello Fadder” (S11:E6)

Homer bowls a perfect 300.  He’s a minor celebrity for a little but his fame wears off.  After a failed attempt to off himself, he realizes courtesy of Ron Howard that he should spend more time with his kiddos.  Homer goes down the pecking order of his kids and decides to spending time with Maggie.  Her lack of enthusiasm nay outright determination to avoid this Daddy bonding is hilarious. One of the things Homer does with her is Daddy and Me swimming class.  No surprise they’re held at the Springfield YMCA.

Springfield YMCA

In “Children of a Lesser Clod” (S12:E20), we see the YMCA right at the beginning.  The folks of Springfield are attending the YMCA’s Open House.  Classes include the Over 85 Basketball League, Gymnastics taught by Coach Lugash, Anger Management Class, The Proper Young Man Etiquette Class and the Over 30 Basketball League.  Rainier Wolfcastle bought the YMCA and planned to turn it into a nature preserve to hunt man, the deadliest game of all.

So there’s the appearances of the YMCA during the day and at night.  No appearances by Coach Krupt but his pairing makes sense in a way.  The Y would be a good place to hold games of bombardment since TSTO’s Springfield Elementary doesn’t have a gym yet. What do you think of it?  Wonder if the one in our towns is actually Rainier’s preserve now?  Sound off and keep on being classy.

TTFN… Wookie out!
