Where Did THAT Come From – Level 54 Buildings

Hey hey friendereenos! In our silly lil game, we sometimes see things pop in that we have no clue as to their Origin. They seem familiar, but we just can’t pinpoint from where. So that is why we decided to make a fun lil reminder out of it. To let you know just Where did THAT Come From?

So with Level 54, all sorts of new stuff popped up. To be honest, EA didn’t delve deeply into the Simpsons catalogue for this update and most items come from two episodes in just one season which makes my job easy. I figured it’d make sense to lump together our two new freemium buildings for your reading pleasure since they’re from the same episode.  I’m talking about Shotkickers and The Seething Sisters of course. Let’s see when and where they appeared in the Best. Show. Ever.? Off we go to “Marge on the Lam” (S5:E6).

So this is the Marge and Ruth Powers have a Thelma & Louise moment episode of The Simpsons if you didn’t know.  Since I broke down different items from this episode in different posts, I’m trying to give each its own flavor.  For this one… think of it like tasting like Crystal Pepsi.  Do you remember that hallmark of the early 90s?

Crystal Pepsi

As a kid, I was so addicted to that soda and this episode always makes me nostalgic for those simpler days of classic Simpsons and invisible cola.  Why do I mention it?  Well easy.  Marge gets free ballet tickets for donating to public television.  Homer is supposed to go even if he doesn’t initially know what ballet is, but has a snack-related incident at work.  He gets his hand stuck in a Crystal Buzz Cola vending machine… mmmm, invisible cola.  Of course, one vending machine isn’t enough so I should mention he also gets trapped in a candy machine.

Marge ends up going to the ballet with her neighbor, Ruth Powers, instead and the two become friends.  For their second night out together, they end up going to a bar Marge has heard a lot about… Shotkickers.

So you can see the real name of the bar is Sh tkickers but EA decided to add an O. Not too hard for anyone familiar with the sland for cowboy boots to figure out which letter fell out of the sign lol.  Sh*tkickers is a vibrant Country Western bar. The sort of bar that has a band, line dancing AND a bull you can ride on. Even the roughnecks know no means no. Roughneck cowboy gentlemen… now I’ve seen everything.

Unfortunately the ladies night starts out great including the shooting of precious antique cans, getting hit on by Joe Quimby at an underground night club called the Hate Box and a beautiful view of Springfield from the Springfield Sign, but it turns into a police chase when Wiggum attempts to pull them over.  Turns out Ruth is driving a stolen car. After ditching the fuzz in the Badlands by turning off their lights and posing as a ghost car, Ruth realizes Marge needn’t be involved in her legal troubles and drops her off at The Seething Sisters gas station/diner.

Marge lets Ruth know everything before the high speed chase was just lovely and goes inside to call Homer.  Inside, she realizes courtesy of a few different Thelma and Louise types that sticking together is what decent people (and good waffles) do. She hears police sirens and decides to hit the road with Ruth again.  (I love that the sirens were just Kearney pranking the establishment’s owner which he does every day.)

Long story short… the chase ends, all is well and Crystal Pepsi remains delicious even if the public couldn’t see it’s amazingness.  So there you have it friends… two new buildings that are not only available for in-game cash, but both come from the same episode.  What do you think of them?  Happy to have Ruth Powers available in your game?  Want a task for Kearney to pose as the coppers? Sound off in the comments and happy tapping in Level 54 and beyond!

TTFN… Wookiee out!

  1. Did you hear they are actually bringing Crystal Pepsi back? Can’t wait to try it since I was only 3 when they stopped making it.

  2. Nostalgia……….
Half the stuff mentioned here must have passed us by in England, but it’s nice that people are having happy memories of happier times 😁

  3. I find the Ruth Powers quest line annoying. The idea that as a new employee she expects to be paid the same as people who have worked for the company for 30 years is ricoculous.

  4. Unrelated question: you guys are always referring to information in game code files to give us the heads up on things. Which we very much appreciate BTW. If I wanted to look at my game’s code files, how would I go about doing that? Do I need to download a program, jailbreak my phone, etc? Thanks

    • That is something we do not discuss here, but feel free to “Oogle” it. I am sure you will find lots of info. 🙂

      • I didn’t find the actual answer to my question, but I did learn the naiveté of my question. Based on what I learned, it is not something I want to get myself involved with. Thank you for directing me to research it. :-).
And just for fun: I tried Oogle, Bayoo, and Zing. 😛

  5. Wow! 20 years ago this was (and still is) a classic episode … Whether it’s Sh*tkickers , or Shotkickers, doesn’t matter (EA can’t neuter the lol I remember from this episode), its just cool to have something new for long time Tappers to enjoy 🙂

  6. Sunshine, lollipops, and rainbows…

I remember drinking a lot of Crystal Pepsi on a trip to Cape Cod years ago.

  7. Where did Fort Adventure come from?

  8. Kearney should get “Siren Bike Ride” Task.

Seeing the “O” for “Shot Kickers” makes me wonder if we will ever see the Jazz Hole (with flickering light).

Good job Wookie – so the “Homer’s Ballet” came from this episode as well?

    • 4 out of the 6 new items came from this episode actually. Broke them up into three different posts. Keep your eyes peeled for future WDTCF posts.

  9. I love that the weather station is from this episode also

  10. GodlessSquash

I am a bit older, so TAB was my first diet soft drink to almost get hooked on. My grandparents kept it stocked and my parents kept Coca-Cola like it was 50-year old whisky.

  11. Wookiee, Good news… I have heard rumors Crystal Pepsi is coming back (short time only, but that’s what they said about Pepsi with real sugar)…
As for this episode, who could forget breakfast cooked on an engine… Or that Ghost cars are everywhere… Gotta love Wiggam…

    • GodlessSquash

OK, now I gotta watch this one again. I don’t know if you ever watch American Pickers, but there was an episode in which Frank got hold of a book about cooking foil-wrapped meals on the exhaust manifold!

  12. Watched the episode last night with my fiancee cuz she didn’t remember it. It was much funnier than even I remember.

Worker: Homer, there’s no easy way to tell you this: I’m afraid I’m gonna have to saw your arms off.
    Homer: They’ll grow back, right?
    Worker: Oh… yeah.

    Love it!

  13. The Problem Child

Just a heads up Wookiee, your favorite episode is going to air at 7PM CST on FXX, tonight!

    • GodlessSquash

So did Lacroix and NewYork’s Best Seltzer! BOHICA! 😱

      • GodlessSquash, I had to check out if New York Seltzer was coming back because it’s been rumored before. And oh my, it is! My sister and I loved that stuff as kids. I am a little embarrassed how excited we both got and how much I spent buying a case of the black cherry flavor.
