Where Did THAT Come From – Fort Adventure

Hey hey friendereenos! In our silly lil game, we sometimes see things pop in that we have no clue as to their Origin. They seem familiar, but we just can’t pinpoint from where. So that is why we decided to make a fun lil reminder out of it. To let you know just Where did THAT Come From?

So with Level 54, all sorts of new stuff popped up.  One of the new freemium offerings was Fort Adventure.   But why a fort made of mattresses? When and where did it actually appear in the Best. Show. Ever.?  Let’s dive into the Simpsons TV Series to find out more.

“Bart’s Inner Child” (S5:E7)

Trambopaline! Ok not a trampoline from the Best. Show. Ever. but close. EA must dig Season 5 of The Simpsons as most of our new content came from two consecutive episodes.

So… I love The Simpsons pretty much all the time but this episode is super high on my list. I mean, heck, I wrote an entire TSTO Anonymous post with it as the inspiration. Homer’s antics with the trambopoline always make me laugh. So here’s the skinny…

– Homer sees a free trampoline in the Springfield Shopper

– He gets said trampoline from Krusty and sets it up in the backyard

TSTO Anon 15Nov 2

– Charging admission for trampoline jumping,  it quickly goes awry and starts hurting people.

TSTO Anon 15Nov 4

– Of course, this havoc happens after Homer has the idea to start his own theme park… HOMERLAND… complete with Trampoline World, Muckville USA AND Fort Adventure.

TSTO Anon 15Nov 12

– The last two attractions never happen in real Simpsons life but oh well.

And that’s really it… just a quick blip from Homer’s imagination that now digitally smells funny in your town for just $125,000. Seems like a lot of things Homer dreams up are making their way into our towns recently. Anywho… Bravo EA for the new freemium decoration and here’s hoping they bring on the trampoline next with visual tasks for Otto, Wendell, Ralph, Rod & Todd, and Milhouse & Nelson.

What do you think of Fort Adventure? Love the episode it comes from just like me? Got a funny placement for it? There should be some good ones since it can go on land or the Squidport tiles. Sound off below and stay classy like usual.

  1. I put it in my scrapyard but now we have landings moving….

  2. I hadnt told my hubs the game updated earlier. Went to put baby to bed came back out and this episode was on FXX with the fort being the first thing I saw. I had a good giggle. It seems like there is something from every single episode already in the game. Makes it more fun to play and to watch.

  3. I put it in a super random spot, but I like it.

  4. I knew I had seen it before but I couldn’t remember which episode. Quick question: What is the usual time of day when updates seem to surface? I want to know when to check.

    • Depends on the update…

If it’s level updates usually it’s between 9:30-12pm EDT. If it’s an app store update usually it’s between 12:30-2pm EDT

  5. <3 this Episode of The Simpsons
    I haven't bought Fort Adventure
I dunno where to put it
(it does look like a room adition for our favorite Hillbillies House (lol) 😉

Do the waste items (the ones you get from buying land) count towards the total amount of buildings/decorations?? I keep getting the warning pop up, but I haven’t even expanded all the way (still have a few rows to get) and I like to keep my town nicely decorated and not cluttered or too empty. Thanks for the help

  7. I don’t no that having couch cushion fort when I was younger is better or worse than that mattress fort. I like the noise it makes (tapped it in neighbors towns). But even as a freemium player, vanity isn’t something I need and I think I will skip it. Mainly it makes me feel kinda sad looking at it. That’s just me :\ .

  8. Anyone else get an update today? I’m just wondering why I automatically downloaded a big update and no in game changes or quests. Funny no one is talking about anything new. No characters seem to trigger anything and I’m a tad confused. Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated.

  9. I must have seen this episode 20 times before I realized Fort Adventure was a call back to the 200 soiled mattresses being given out by the Springfield Men’s Shelter in the free section of The Springfield Shopper Homer was browsing right before finding the TRAMBOPOLINE!

  10. I love the fort! So many great childhood memories of building castles out of sofa cushions, spaceships out of boxes and tents out of sheets! Must get my little one off his tablet and show him how lol : D

Milhouse: “It smells funny in there.”
    Homer: “No it doesn’t.”

  12. As a boy, we have a double decker metal single bed, those that use metal springs as mattress base. Using blankets hanging off the springs, we constructed a fort on the lower deck. Using pillows and bolsters, we set up a cockpit and the whole set up become a space ship. Those were the days before computers..

My brother Shawn and I did this too. He had a navy blue blanket with nautical patterns on it that we called the Rocket Blanket. That became the side of the spaceship where you crawled in. This was soon after the lunar landing and everyone was excited about the astronauts.

  13. I just had to have this. I grew up with a dad who understood backyards with giant neighborhood forts in the summer and snow monsters/caves in the winter. My brother and BIL built a hover craft in their garage when they went on vacation once! It took over one of the stalls for two years before my mother told my dad she finally had enough and they had to move it. LOL
