UPDATE BUNNY 6/26: There is a known Crashing issue going on with the Questline associated with this Character. Avoid the Questline for now. Homer confronts Mrs. Duff.

For everyone else, be careful. If you stumble upon a Neighbor that has fallen prey to this glitch, you will not be able to get into their town. Instead, it will crash your game too.

While Tap Ball is sweeping the streets of our Springfield, EA decided we needed another little mini event inside the event to go with it. So yesterday they introduced the Soccer Cup 2015 Event, which is basically just a fancy way to title a bunch of new premium stuff in the shops. One of those new premium items is Lady Duff, an all new skin for Duffman! Now I know you may be trying to decide if this is worth YOUR donuts, but don’t sweat it! We’re here to tell you what’s worth the donuts and what you might want to hold off on.
Wondering if you should add Lady Duff to YOUR Springfield? Well before you hit that confirm button let’s break down the pros and cons of adding this wig wearing Duffman to YOUR Springfield!
Character/Skin: Lady Duff (A skin for Duffman)
Donut Price: 50 donuts
UPDATE BUNNY: For those of you that do NOT already have Duffman w/Duff Brewery, there is a combo pack for 240 Donuts for all 3.
Pros:
-Comes with a quest line
-Premium character earns 50% more on all cash and xp than a freemium character (but it goes on Duffman, who already earns at a premium rate)
Cons:
-Cannot play Tap Ball
-Does not have any Amateur Buck Earning tasks
-Requires you to have Duffman (who is premium) in order to use

My own two cents? Stay away from this one, both players. There’s absolutely no benefit to get this costume. If you have Duffman, which you’re required to have, he already earns at a premium rate…so that negates that pro. There’s no benefit to this event if you have Lady Duff. And the questline requires Homer and Lisa quite a bit. (you can view it here). I love Duffman, and I’ll tell you to pick him up any day of the week. But Lady Duff? A complete pass in my mind.
Of course in the end it’s your decision, we can only tell you what we would/wouldn’t do…and I can tell you as a premium player i’m completely passing. However, this IS a limited-time item. So if you’re thinking about getting Lady Duff make sure you make your final decision before June 30th, when she leaves our games.

Arrrrrgh, gutted, I thought lady duff was a seperate character, and for 50 donuts I snatched it up, oh the regrets, if I had known it was just a skin I would have avoided the skin like duff light.

I’ve been wanting Duffman so I went ahead and got him and a bonus Lady Duff skin! I’m getting Jasper too I’ve had his Stonecutters skin for a year or so. Happy tapping!
Wow! I am so glad I checked here first before buying the combo of Duffman and Lady Duff for 240 donuts. I didn’t realize Lady Duff was a skin! Ha! Seriously, I thought it was a separate character at first. So I figured by getting the combo for 240, of that, 190 was for Duffman and the brewery and I would be getting the Lady Duff character for 50 donuts. But it’s just a skin. So it’s not the bargain I thought it was as it’s not two separate characters. The skin doesn’t seem like it does anything for this event, so I don’t see any real advantage of getting it now (for 240 donuts). Perhaps Gil may have another Black Friday deal on Duffman and the brewery again this year. So I may wait until then.
I wish I had checked first, I thought it was a new character and I was getting a deal! I even bought donuts, which I never do, just to get the combo pack. At least I wanted Duffman eventually, but still a little annoyed. Anybody else confused like this?
Yeah, I wish it was a better deal. Since the skin doesn’t offer any real benefit, I figured I would wait until “Black Friday” and see if Gil has a deal again for it as was the case last year.
EA didn’t help. Contacted them twice. Both times they didn’t give me any helpful info what so ever. All I got was a automated fake response saying everything was fine. Wtf are they talking about?
Try during normal business hours in the USA. (9-5) and if possible, initiate a phone call or email. Chat reps…well… they are not so helpful as they work from a script. I 99% of the time stop the chat or ask for a supervisor.
I haven’t had a crashing issue and I don’t have the option to buy Lady Duff.
You have to trigger her by the questlines. At least that’s how she popped up for me. Clear some of your questlines.
oops. I wish I’d read this post before I splurged on Lady Duff! I pretty much always follow your advice because it’s always been really useful and right on. I’m just making the transition from mostly freemium to sorta kinda premium so I wished I’d saved the donuts…but no matter! Live and learn 🙂 As always, thanks for your site and your advice–I wouldn’t be able to get through all these events without you!
As soon as the patch was released then I was able to get into my game….FINALLY!!!!! 😃
Game still saying connection with network, any help. About to delete the game completely once for all. I tried everything.Help, ill give till tuesday.
That could be something on your end. An uninstall/resinstall may actually help. Try it. Contact EA if you need more support.
Theres actually some people having the same problem, they on that ea website help. But thx ill unistall one more time if it doesnt work oh well, it was a good run.
I would contact them then if it is wider spread.
After that patch, my game is started to freak out me, when I started the game, and after “Tap to continue” screen, I saw the first cutscene, quickly quitting from the game, restarting, and the same thing again, Force Stop, then delete data, and then everything went to normal.
Still in the freaky mood, I screenshooted my whole town for in case of real alert.
Why do my game pranked me?

A Force close and Delete data fixed it.
No worries. Probably just a “hiccup” (like the update got stuck loading). They hit any games at any time from the App Markets. Like you said, Force Close and at times a restart usually patches anything ailing an electronic device. 🙂

Thanks for the info about the crashing issue…I couldn’t figure out why my game kept crashing when I tried to pay tap ball against one particular neighbor. Now I know (or at least assume) that it was because they had purchased Lady Duff!
I hope that while EA was in there fixing that issue, they didn’t also fix the nice “0 donut” issue, too!! 😉

With all the crashing Lady Duff causes maybe the heading shouldn’t be “Should I Spend Donuts on Lady Duff?” To “Don’t Buy Lady Duff!!”
