It’s getting sporty in Springfield! With the 2015 Tap Ball Event loads of new sports related decorations and buildings have been introduced in our stores. During Act 1 of the event we have the option of purchasing two decorations and one building for donuts. Now I know you may be trying to decide if any of these items are worth YOUR donuts, but don’t sweat it! We’re here to tell you what’s worth the donuts and what you might want to hold off on.
Wondering if you should add Sportacus, the Boxing Ring or the Tennis Court to YOUR Springfield? Well before you hit that confirm button let’s break down the pros and cons of adding these sport themed items to YOUR Springfield!
Building: Sportacus
Donut Price: 85 Donuts
Earns: $260 & 26XP/10hrs
Size: 9×6
Conform-O-Meter Impact: Consumerism +10
Pros
-Comes with a short questline and 1 time use task for Willie
-Neat looking building
-Adds to consumerism, one of the hardest areas to max out
Cons
-Does not pay out event currency
-Pricey for a one time use building
Final Thought:
Premium:
Personally I don’t think this is worth the donuts. If it paid event currency or Willie’s task was permanent, I’d think it was a little more worth it…but as it stands I think it’s a pass.
Freemium:
Stay away from this one in my opinion. Just not worth the donuts for what it is/what it does.

Donut Price: 30 Donuts
Size: 6×6
Bonus %: 0.50% on all cash and XP
Conform-O-Meter: Vanity +150
Unique: No, buy as many as you’d like
Does it Do Anything: No, just a decoration. No animation, and no one uses it.
My opinion on decorations has always been, if you like it get it. If you don’t pass. So I won’t be doing Pros and Cons on this.
Final Thought:
This one, for me, isn’t worth it from a practical stand point. The price for bonus %, is awful. There are far better items you can pickup around the same cost that offer a MUCH better bonus % (like the Jet Engine Bike).

I like this one. The bonus % is decent for the price. Plus, for me, it reminds me of my Grandpa. 89 years old and still playing tennis regularly (and he can seriously kick my butt at it). For me this is one I’d pick up…

I’ve picked up Sportacus upon its return because I’ve been waiting and waiting for something that would look good next to the Gridiron. Very few buildings seem to be the proper size and this one is also sports-themed. So even though I passed on it before, and wish it was a bit cheaper, I’m glad it returned. That little block of my downtown is almost done, now. 🙂
I noticed the Tennis Court is in Springfield Heights for 10 award statues. Still carries the same bonus. Somehow I feel dirty.
Dirty? During the last event, I acquired 336 of them. Now, THAT’S dirty! (I never got the final prizes. I was too busy making statues, coffee, phones, pills, and mats all week. But I did bump my bonus from 330 to 1100.)
Boom!!! Now THAT’S what I call taking EA’s offer to the bank. And no doubt about it…if EA wanted to kill the value of donut farming, that certainly wasn’t the way to do it.
Just curious now that tennis marge is in our games can she use the tennis court?
No, but she will use the indoor tennis courts

Can’t find a post about should I buy the balance beam for Lisa. Did I miss it?. If it unlocks more interesting tasks for her I might go for it.
I didn’t do one. I don’t plan on doing one. I’ve never been a fan of Gymnastics Lisa or the Balance Beam (just annoying and hard to place). A
Gymnast Lisa’s 12-hour task on the balance beam is, alone, worth the price of admission, IMHO. Also, it’s nice to have a premium skin for her. I had been covering her ever since I first saw her in a neighbor’s town a long time ago, so I just had to pull the trigger when she came along for this event. (Plus, having a 12-hour Amateur Bucks task allows her to earn Amateur Bucks for me overnight better than just the 8-hour task did. But I wouldn’t spend the donuts *just* for that.)
So, T-Bub asked a question further down that I’m really curious about now.. Is there ANY chance that the tennis court and/or boxing ring will be used by Tennis Marge or Boxing Tatum in the future? I know they’ve done it with buildings but has a decoration’s code ever been changed after its release to let characters interact with it? If there’s even a slight chance they might use them I really want to get them but if they are really truly going to remain simple decorations I will skip them…. does anybody remember if this has happened before?

The LAST thing I need in my crowded SF are more buildings that don’t pay out. They really shouldn’t even offer them anymore now that lots of SFs are so huge, with people crying for more land ( until now) My little tracts of house farms were about to go, but I can keep them longer now. What did they do with this update??? Homer keeps yelling at me about every 15 minutes to come play — even if I’ve literally JUST closed the app. Turned off my sound alerts (which usually doesn’t work out well for me remembering to check in) because it’s stressing me out!
This is happening to me, too. I mean, I’m a pretty frequent tapper, but Homer is getting a *bit* demanding.
Yes, I’m hating this notification voice. They need to get rid of it ASAP. I need to have mine on for other reasons, and I can’t have this constant yelling from my iPad. Come on, EA – this is dumb & highly annoying! Rachel
I have had the same problem, phone would say that even if the volume was off. You have to go to the settings app on your device. Hit apps, then hit Simpsons tapped out. It should have a check box for push notifications. Uncheck that box and the voice should stop. Warning though it won’t show on the status bar of your device if someone visited or if a job is done but I was ok with that since it got rid of him telling me to put pants on.
The tennis court would have been a nice prize (better than the tire thingy we got) – I would have liked to have had one for one of my mansions or something – but the % isn’t good enough for me to part with my precious sprinklies for (and I don’t have any particular sentimental attachment to tennis courts…well, except for learning to play tennis in gym class in elementary school using a Mr. Peanut’s Guide to Tennis booklet as our “text book,” lol!).

I picked up the boxing ring and put it near Duff Stadium and the Coliseum. It looks like a practice/warm-up ring for Coliseum fights and the Duff logo matches up with the stadium making an athletic area.
Having the Stadium and Coliseum is the only way it makes sense imo, unless you got Sportacus and are making a fitness area. That might be cool.
Little update has hit meaning the characters little catchphrases finish again even when off screen.

I just got the stadium lights. Holy cow! is it BIG!! It towers over Duff Stadium, let alone that petite soccer patch of ground. My disappointment far outweighed my anticipation after I put it in my town. Will I be buying a second one? Not any more – in fact this one will be another item tucked into an ever-growing inventory of useless (to me) items. LOL
I just got the truck and don’t have enough donuts yet to get the tennis court. I’m freemium and just hoping to hit enough bonus boxes to reach 50 before the end of the event. I am creating an area like a sports complex and it would make a great addition. And the percentage bonus seems worth it.
My opinion is to get Sportacus, I love the look of it!
Sportacus is a hero to my son here in the UK …just look up the show on U tube Lazy Town …awesome way to get your kids hooked on exercise and eating fruit ; )

I can see how the Tennis Court is the best choice out of these 3 Premium Items exclusive to the Tap Ball Event …. there’s just no rush to spend Donuts on it (Tappers have a few weeks to decide) … but EA isn’t impressing me with the lack of Freemiums available to purchase
But in events freemium items are never really purchasable, (except ToH and xmas) but winnable prizes.
I wonder if later on, boxing skin for Tatum (I see it’s an upcoming daily task prize) and tennis marge may have use (hopefully) for the tennis court(marge) + Boxing ring (tatum).
I snagged two tennis courts 🙂 I put one behind the high school and one behind one of the mansions. I was considering the boxing ring but since Tatum won’t interact with it I passed. Thanks for all the help! You gals ROCK!!
I have that problem and have been locked out of my game . I spoke with ea and apparently they are looking into it and have told me to give it 24 hours and then try my game again and hopefully it will be fixed by then .

It’s nice to see all the new premium items in their own SIB. But I’ve noticed there’s one everyone has missed that was a giveaway episode tie-in before but is (was for me XD) available for 45 donuts: Oscar’s Obstacle Truck. It gives out a 2.25% bonus on all XP and $. Hope to see it included soon and hope I helped the head addicts a bit!

The page isn’t too important itself but has pictures of the emoticon XD represents. I find it useful in place of “omg I feel stupid now” or “that’s dumb” or “laughing at myself” or “whoops”… that kinda thing I guess. Maybe you can see the emotion better when you see the picture 🙂
