  1. Happy 4th of July to all you guys in the U.S.A.

    🌠💥💫🎆🎈🎇

  2. Normally I enjoy reading comments, the below ones not so much. This is a game not a political debate.
Sooo…. (To change the subject) I’m glad everyone that wanted land got two new strips of land. I didn’t need land but boy do I NEED Squidport Boardwalk Sections. Especially now that more buildings can go on the Boardwalk, how come no ones complained about that yet?!

    • ciarathomp988

I think because no one cares about Squidport anymore 🙁 I personally love it, I don’t however like that you need to pay for each tile, makes building a nice layout very tedious, but I love the water, lakes, oceans, etc. so I wish we’d get a little more, maybe even a ride or something, like the dilapidated horse/seahorse carousel! That’d be amazing.

  3. God job Queen Alissa, asking for politics to stop. Seriously this is supposed to be a fun game. It’s been stated on your blog not political, no fighting, arguing, Etc so I for one are proud of you for stopping political rhetoric, doesn’t belong here!
Btw I don’t feel like you lost your temper or were cranking, you did it with class, pregnant and all!😉

  4. Dmu_girl-2008

At some point after this event when u will hopefully have a break would u be able to do a full walkthrough for the cheapskates like me who want to see the dialogue. I don’t know how u guys cope with all the stuff going on.

  5. Sorry. 😔

I did post this last night, though, before I saw your request to stop, or I surely wouldn’t have posted it. But you’re right, and I’m sorry.

    • It wasn’t directed at you…I promise. I actually deleted it. I’m just pregnant and crabby lol sometimes I have to stop and reevaluate what I said..

  6. Politics aside, I love having the presidents in town. Their mock rivalry makes for some hysterical dialogue, and they all have some great animations. (Making Lincoln “blend in” is still my favorite thing in the game.) Nixon has a great storyline. He’s a great addition. (On the other hand, the hotel is huge. I wish he had come with something much smaller, like Washington”s cherry tree.)

  7. My Springfield has become more endearing with Nixon in it. He is a great addition for me. And I really like the hotel.

  8. Ruth: It’s adorable how Viet Nam escapes your mind. America was not “at peace.” America was bleeding from every orifice. Families screamed at each other during dinner because of him. And that doesn’t touch his actual felonies.

I wouldn’t have a cartoon Nixon in my cartoon Springfield. We thought Johnson was awful until we endured Nixon.

    • You do know Vietnam wasn’t Nixon, right? That was all am lbj thing. In fact Kennedy didn’t even want to go….he was talking about not sending troops there before he was assissinated. LBJ got us in and, like we saw with Iraq, you can’t just immediately pull troops out. It takes time to withdraw troops.

  9. As a British person, it is quite entertaining to see this post and it’s comments descend into Americans arguing over their worst president(s) :p

  10. I’m not sure where to ask this, but I’ve bought some land on the side furthest from the mountains and there was no debris at all in all 3 plots and I couldn’t see any in the stuff I hadn’t bought either.
Is that normal? There was debris on the right plots.

    • There’s only debris on the original plots of land. Any land EA has added since the game launched has not contained debris

      • That’s an interesting tidbit of info…lets me know that I haven’t finished buying all of the original land yet! 🙂

      • Thanks! They must have released a lot of land when the game first launched!

  11. Though this comment doesnt fit this article (Sorry for that) Why dont i recieve my first win of the day bonus anymore? And also if i do why at wierd times such as midnight if i play tap ball?

  12. spiny_norm886

Once the questline ends, what are Richard Nixon’s tasks in the game?

  13. Politics are always dirty. He is just unlucky to be caught.

  14. I can’t wait for when you do the full dialog post…I have to say, their teaser for this was really good and definitely made me want to find out what happens in the questline! But not enough to spend 150 donuts to find out… 😛

  15. When Nixon and the Watergate appeared I knew I would have to buy them. How fun, and funny!!! Thanks to Craig and Ruth for sharing some facts. Nixon had some serious flaws, but as a President he actually did some very good work.

  16. What started as a Tapped Out walkthrough is now turning into a ranking of our worst presidents? As a history lover (and teacher), I had to splurge and buy the Scandal Gate and Nixon (love his voice-overs and tasks). I also don’t think Nixon deserves to be the 44th worst president as the game states (and technically we’ve only had 43 American Presidents). And sorry Ba_brisk, but all partisanship aside, Carter wasn’t the worst either. Buchanan, Warren G. Harding and Andrew Johnson rank at my bottom (and this web page tends to back up that view – https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Historical_rankings_of_Presidents_of_the_United_States)

    • I feel you. I beleive a person should have some background knowledge before speaking. 🙂

    • I think W definitely needs to be on that list, too.

    • Respectfully, any list which has Barrack Obama, a mostly inept President surrounded by idiots, above Bill Clinton, a President who was hated by Republicans but managed to work with them for most of his term, is not a list I’d ever seriously use as a reference.

    • We are truly veering off course here, BUT
(And I am going to mess up the quote)
      It was Harding who said
“What we need is a citizen less concerned with what the country can do for them, and more concerned with what they can do for the nation”
      😎 sound familiar? 😎

  17. Alice/alstuff

I would like to have the watergate, but don’t want Nixon in my town.

  18. Nixon is not the worst president ever. He is in the bottom, but, based on policy and achievements alone , Carter was the worse. Carter and Buchanan.

    • Not an accurate account. Fact, the three great achievements of that single term seem even more of an achievement today: he forced through the Camp David Accords, one of only two peace treaties that Israel has ever signed, isolating Anwar Sadat and Menachem Begin at Camp David for 13 days until he gradually wore them down; he also forced through the Panama Canal Treaty, a deeply unpopular move that returned the canal to Panama, but which prevented, many believe, a difficult and nasty war in Latin America; and he brought in an energy policy that saw him reduce America’s dependency on imported oil by half. he didn’t fire a single shot, didn’t kill a single person. Didn’t lead his country into a war – legal or illegal. He kept our country at peace. he never went to war. He never dropped a bomb. He never fired a bullet. But still he achieved his international goals. He brought peace to other people, including Egypt and Israel. He normalised relations with China, which had been non-existent for 30-something years. He brought peace between US and most of the countries in Latin America because of the Panama Canal Treaty. And he formed a working relationship with the Soviet Union. He was far from our worst President.
