Hey Howdy Hey Tappers!
Are you ready for some Tap Ball!? Tap Ball is the newest sensation sweeping the streets of Springfield. A game invented by our very own Homer J Simpson! In the Second “Act” of the Tap Ball Event (funny they’re called Acts, really they should be called Periods like Hockey. Oh EA, I thought you knew sports 😉 ) you’ll unlock Tennis Marge, FIT Milhouse, unlock Community Challenges and continue to challenge your friends and neighbors to some friendly Tap Ball competitions!
This Event is broken up into 3 Acts (again, should be called Periods EA…), with each Act containing part of the story. To help you move along with the event you’ll get several prizes per Act. Each prize will either be something fun for Springfield or something to help you move along in the event. For the Second Act you’re tasked with collecting Hats (
) to unlock each prize!
For this post we’re going to combine the second and fourth prize…why? Because they’re basically the same prize, just designed a bit different. So they fit nicely together in one post 🙂 Sooo…
The Second Act 2 prize awarded at 11,900 is the Obstacle Wire. 
And the Fourth Act 2 Prize awarded at 23,800 is the Obstacle Log. 
Both items are decorations for your Springfield. So let’s take a closer look at both of these obstacales and just what happens when you unlock them in your Springfield.
Let’s start with the Obstacle wire…
Once you’ve collected 11,900 you’ll automatically be awarded the Obstacle Wire and you’ll see this message popup:
You’ll have the ability to place the Wire in your Springfield immediately or place it in your inventory for later (store). If you store it, remember you’ll have to go into your inventory to retrieve it.
And it’s basically the exact same thing for the Obstacle Log…
Once you’ve collected 23,800 you’ll automatically be awarded the Obstacle Log and you’ll see this message popup:
You’ll have the ability to place the Log in your Springfield immediately or place it in your inventory for later (store). If you store it, remember you’ll have to go into your inventory to retrieve it.
And that’s really it to BOTH prizes. There’s no questline, no dialogue, nothing telling you to place it in your Springfield to earn more . Just win the prize and that’s it.
And now here are some quick facts about the Obstacles (they’re both exactly the same):
Size: 3×3
Conform-O-Meter Impact: Vanity +500
Where Can I Place It?: Grass/Pavement
What Does it Do?: Nothing really. Just a decoration for your Springfield. No animation and no character interaction. These are now animated, when I initially unlocked them they were not, so it must be a recent addition by EA

Each of these does actually have an animation. The log moves back and forth slightly when tapped, and alligators appear below the wires when tapped.
There are animations along with sound.
Actually they are animated, all the training obstacles are when you tap them. The tires lift up, the log swings, the rope on the wall moves, alligators pop up from the trip wire and the tire on a chain slightly moves and makes a noise.
From what I’ve seen so far, all of the obstacles/training equipment have animation. My personal favorite is the obstacle wire as three 2D alligator (crocodile?) heads pop up and chomp.
Ah Alissa, I was hoping Wookie made this post so I can say “You made a Wookie Mistake”.. When tapped, three alligator/croc heads pop out and snap (for the O. wire). The log wiggles a little when tapped. And they both make the same noise as most of the other obsticle peices – wish I knew where that sound clip can from. Sounds more like something EA just put together and nothing from any specific Episode.
Yes, yes yes I know. The animation is a recent addition. When I first unlocked them and wrote the post they were animationless. Post has been updated to reflect the change.
When I posted the comment everyone else must have been in moderation because there were no visible comments at the time. Thought I’d let you off easy- now 40 plus comments later over something so minor. Lol, I do not envy your job (of posting stuff and responding to comments)
I still wonder about that sound effect though. 😮

Hi there! Just wondering if anyone else is having this issue, I just got enough hats for Tennis Marge, but I cannot find her anywhere? I hard-reset my game, went in and out of Krustyland, played neighbors some Tap ball, visited them, everything I could think of? Any suggestions?
Yup, it’s going around. Best thing I can tell you to do is contact EA
I’ve had this issue myself spoke to someone from EA and they said there would be a game synch within 24hrs that would get tennis marge back in my game as well as giving me if reference number if she doesn’t appear. I was also told a patch is being worked on to fix the missing community prize donuts.
Ok I removed TO and “reinstalled” it and not only did I get Tennis Marge, I got another 10 community donuts (I say another because I did get the first set of 10). So happy me 🙂
I just got Tennis Marge with no issues. After I got the skin and Marge finished her usual task, I got the big “!” and sent her off on a 4- hour task to find a hobby in the basement that pays ABs. Fashionably late, n’est pas? 😁
Patch just auto downloaded fixed the community donuts. Restarted my 5 day prize countdown: was about to start day 5 but went back to day 1 again – so missed out on some purple potion bottles. Well, and you can’t have everything 🙂
The Obstacles elements are animated.

This afternoon when I collected my daily prize there was also a message to collect the 10 donuts.
There are animations for these. The wire one is the best reminds me of pitfall. It would be nice if a character would be able to run through this when its finished.
I am hoping the same. I have staged them next to the Tap Ball park in the meantime.
I set up Ralph to play Wiggle Puppy in the corners of the obstacles so he is kind of running the course in a circular-going-nowhere-fashion. Rod (or Todd?) also makes a great tap-ball cheerleader waving enthusiastically court-side atop the monkey-bars!

Hi guys and thanks, as always, for all your work. Yesterday morning I unlocked “tennis Marge”, but neither the new skin or the associated task-line showed up. She also doesn’t appear as a Tap Ball player. I just cruised through the EA forums and saw this mentioned about 10 times but could find no mention of a fix. I left my comments in the usual EA Forum but I was wondering if you heard of anything relative to a patch or a fix?

On the contrary, these obstacles and the others move slightly when tapped. In the case of the barbed wire obstacle, snapping alligators rise from the mud.
There is an animation, the log swings and crocs pop out beneath the wires. 🙂
I was awarded the first community prize of 10 donuts for tap ball. I got the little box notification and saw the donuts added to my account. I logged in today and they are gone! Any one else having this issue?

There is animation. When you tap the log it swings and 3 alligators pop up when you tap the obstacle wire. It made me smile….and place it next to camp krusty.
Actually all 4 obstacles have animations. At least in my town.
For those Tappers who don’t know, there are some funny animations when you tap the obstacles. I won’t spoil them for you, just tap and enjoy!

The two above mentioned obstacles do have animation. The wire when tapped a sound of sloshing shoes running and green crocs or alligator heads appear. The log also has a sound and when tapped sways a little.
We have an update and I’ve suddenly seen balls to tap in my game for the first time- 3 of them right away.
I totally disagree that it should be called periods instead of acts. Please visit a dictionary.

Oh wait, Alissa- I just checked my troll-to-English dictionary, and the translation for that comment is actually, “Thank you so much for all of your hard work and quick responses. I sincerely hope you know how much your efforts are appreciated and you receive the respect, or at the very least, common courtesy that you deserve.”

I did visit a dictionary, here’s a few definitions 😉
any specified division or portion of time
any of the parts of equal length into which a game is divided
the time during which something runs its course
Considering the sport theme of the event (and the definitions from the dictionary), period would have been fitting.
They should have named them halves or quarters, the outrage would have amused me, 3 halves or 3 quarters. It would have made sense as Homer came up with the rules, they could have had Lisa try to point out it was wrong.
also i have a question. what quest need to be done for act three? is it just my trophy life or do i need to finish the stadium improvements and upgrading your team? thank you sorry if its the wrong spot to ask this

I have unlocked both and my fort sensible area is looking quite nice now. I will probably craft additional obstacles near the end of this event. I’d really love to see a dirt patch (like the river, road, and pavement tiles, but maybe half the size). Maybe someday.
They all have a little animation when tapped.
Actually, all the obstacles have an animation, it is just subtle so it is hard to see with a couple of them.

They are animated when you tap on them. The log moves and something green happens to the wires. I couldn’t see what exactly.
SO last night I unlocked the Tennis Marge skin, but I can’t find it anywhere. I restarted my kindle and even stored Marge and Moe’s Tavern. Has anyone else had this problem? I contacted EA and they haven’t responded yet.

I created an obstacle parcour with the four items, some bushes and the bars. And I just got Marge so bonus sprinkles here I come! Need 13 more to get Laura Powers. 🙂
