Due to POPULAR request….we’ve moving up our open thread time so that our friends outside of the US can participate too! Let’s get the conversation going! Oh and remember…just because this is posted here today doesn’t mean you can’t comment on it all week long. This open thread will still be open for comments long after today is over!
Now…enough rambling from me….it IS Sunday and you know what that means, right? Time for another Open Thread!
Here’s where you can talk about anything you want to talk about…TSTO Related, Simpson’s Related or ANYTHING. Just no Add me requests…those should go here. We’ll give you a few suggestions (like most Sunday’s you can talk about the current episode of the Simpsons) but for the most part you’re free to talk about ANYTHING your little Tapping Fingers desire…just keep it PG.
So…here is your Open Thread. Act 2 of Tap Ball is set to end tomorrow morning (0800GMT, 4am EDT), are you ready for Act 3? Get everything you wanted from Act 2? The Simpsons Comic Con panel was yesterday afternoon, are you excited for Season 27? Kind of a slow night in the world of Sports, as this up coming week is the MLB All Star Game, although tonight Sunday Night Baseball features the Red Sox at the Angels. Are you excited for the All Star Game? (I know even as a baseball fan it’s hard to get excited about the game these days…but I’m excited because my hubby is there working and promised to bring me back some cool swag ;)) Do anything fun and exciting this weekend? Spend any time down the shore recently?
So chat about the Simpsons, TSTO, Update fun, or anything else you can think of! Can’t wait to chat with you all, you know we love hearing from you!

I’ve placed the log so they have to balance on it and walk along it Then they run through the tires, crawl under the wire & then climb the wall 🙂
I hope EA improves the game. The visiting other Springfields is often unbearably slow.
Seems to be mostly during events (Although yes I know we’ve been having alot of them lately, so may as well just call it normal play) but like in this event case, if someone didn’t visit their town in so many hours, there’s that many more fans animations within the town that have to load, before you can get in. May be more to it, but that’s how I view it.
Just wondering, as there is a few days left of the event, and I still need two more lights to complete the look I am going to want for the stadium, I just can’t remember if they ever put the items in the donut shop after the event was over or not, or if I should get the second last light that I need with tickets and if I’m short tickets for the second one, buy just before the event is over with donuts?

I decided it was time to see who was still playing and found that I had a few inactive neighbors and, since I had some folks that I actually kinda “know” (like you) waiting, I decided to start giving since folds the boot to make room for people on my “preferred” list.

OMG – I *loved* the way you stacked the tube slides!
Does anyone know how the obstacle log works IRL? I’m trying to figure out which way it should be oriented relative to the other obstacle course (among other things).
Not certain myself, although I’ve seen something similar used in two different ways. One, where it swings side to side and you have to basically run past as it is having an opening for you to pass, or a stationary one that you pretty much have to jump over, and if you even remotely touch the log, it rolls, so you may fall. The TV show WipeOut used to use something similar, may be able to find clips on youtube to give an idea.

Unless I’m reading the new update wrong, seems we just got dropped a new level, with new characters, one looks to be possibly Herb? I could be wrong, maybe someone can verify…

Keen for Christmas in July – it even feels cold enough 4 it to be a white one!!! We currently have snow down here (South Africa) at the moment but unfortunately it’s unlikely to happen where I live because it snowed here about 5 years ago so will probably be another 10 years or so before it happens again. Any chance EA would let it snow for the day? 🙂
And thanks to all who make this site happen – it is really great to be able to get the latest (& most accurate) info about what’s up in Springfield!
After a hot and sticky couple of days (uncomfortable sleeping weather), cold weather sounds rather nice right now (at least for sleeping)! Wouldn’t mind a dusting of snow, but not so much that we’d need to do any shoveling (would be happy never to have to shovel again). I’m hoping that our Christmas in July helps me imagine that it’s a little cooler. 😉
At any rate, it’s nice to have another participant sign on! 🙂
I’ve got a somewhat random-isn question. Does anyone have any tips/hints for identifying hacked games? I have a few neighbors that I suspect might be playing hacked games, but not sure. If there’s a good way to tell, I would like to unfriend anyone that is hacked and replace them with honest, hard-working tappers. Thanks!!
Heads up, not sure if they wised up, but just had my first tap ball win of the day, and it gave me 5 balls to hand out to the community. Hopefully this will help us get our prizes!

Does anyone else find it a bit odd, that the spectators in Tap Ball matches are cheering for the away team, and booing for the home team?

Yes!!! I had that same thought myself! My team must bus in an awful lot of fans to the away games! 😉
I have found that if you are within 14 Amateur Bucks of upgrading a player, you can upgrade them for zero donuts.
Since I have decided against the Murderhorn, I’m now debating on the Gold stadium skin. Tried finding a screenshot or video on youtube of it and came up a loss. If any tapper reads this and happens to already have the Gold skin, can you please post a link to a screenshot?
On a side note, simpsonswiki claims the regular stadium square can be changed from grass to dirt for the main play field. Can’t seem to be able to do that on my field. Am I glitched? I do realize wikis can be wrong at times. (Although Wookies are hardly ever wrong :D)
Sometimes you shouldn’t always believe what you read….
It’s not currently an option. It may be added (as it’s in the files) but as of right now, it’s not an option. This is one of the big reasons we don’t post what’s not in the game (even though we see it in the files too). Because it causes players to think there’s a problem with their game when there isn’t.
Sorry Alissa I did not intend to post an option that wasn’t currently in game, just thought I was glitched, or as one time before, clicking the wrong thing to make it happen (St Patricks Day comes to mind, when they moved everything to a different location/button)
Oh no, I’m not blaming you. You legitimately didn’t know…that’s what frustrates me about when other sites post info that’s not in the game. It just causes confusion for players…

Sorry the picture is rather grainy looking… The stadium is huge and I didn’t want to post such a big picture here and the software I have on my iPad for shrinking photos really messed with the resolution when it does out. But, hopefully, it’s good enough to give you the general feel.
Personally, if I were going to spend the donuts for a stadium skin, I’d go for the clay one, instead.
Ugh I hate the way the gold one looks. It just looks silly.
(I still don’t get why sometimes WordPress publishes my DropBox links as links and sometimes as in-line pictures. Had I known it was just going to post it as a link, I would have linked to the full-res version!)
Thanks for the link Sandra, have to agree with Alissa on this one, I think I’ll pass. It was a cool idea, but just looks meh in my opinion. Now if they offered one in winter with snow, that I may consider.
ITA – I have no interest in the gold one either!
