Hey Howdy Hey Tappers!
Tap Ball is sweeping the streets of our Springfields and during this third and final Act of the event a few characters get into it and actually play Tap Ball! One character added to our stores that can play Tap Ball is Toreador Grampa! Now I know you may be trying to decide if this is worth YOUR donuts, but don’t sweat it! We’re here to tell you what’s worth the donuts and what you might want to hold off on.
Wondering if you should add Toreador Grampa to YOUR Tap Ball Roster? Well before you hit that confirm button let’s break down the pros and cons of adding this bull fighting oldie to YOUR team!
Character/Skin: Toreador Grampa
Donut Price: 85 donuts
Pros:
-Comes with a quest line
-Premium character earns 50% more on all cash and xp than a freemium character (on cash earning tasks. Otherwise same Amateur Buck Payout as regular characters, but a higher XP payout)
-Can play Tap Ball
-Comes with Amateur Buck earning tasks
-A couple of funny outdoor tasks
Cons:
-Tap Ball ability is only good if you have 7/11 characters, otherwise you just have 1 extra character sitting on the bench (since you can only play 4 at a time)
-Expensive for just a skin for Grampa
-If you already have the Stonecutter Grampa skin, this defeats the premium aspect (since that pays premium as well)

Premium Take:
Toreador Grampa isn’t a bad purchase. He’ll help round out your team towards the end of the event, so you can play consecutive games (assuming you have other characters (7 or 11 of them)). However, he’s kind of useless until you unlock other characters that can play. Basically he’s the 5th wheel on the bench. So while he’s not a bad buy, he’s not exactly practical for Tap Ball purposes unless you have a large team. However, you can grab him and just use him for his Amateur Buck earning tasks right now…
Freemium Take:
Freemium players…I’d pass on this one. If you’re a freemium player than odds are you don’t have Lugash, Jasper or Tatum (or Crazy Cat Lady when she unlocks), so Grampa will kind of be completely useless to you (in a Tap Ball sense) unless you have an odd number of players. Plus, I think he’s way over priced for what he does.
Of course in the end it’s your decision, we can only tell you what we would/wouldn’t do…and I can tell you as a premium player i’m on the fence with him. I will probably grab him over Football Nelson, to round out my oldies, but I’m still on the fence. However, this IS a limited-time item. So if you’re thinking about getting him make sure you make your final decision before he leaves our games.

I have 100 donuts. What should I buy?
He’s cute, but not worth the donuts spend for me. But I look forward to seeing his Taunt task in a neighbor’s town! 🙂
I loved him and bought him instantly. I have been very slow at upgrading players so now I upgrade players to complete the extra team so Grampa isn’t just a bench warmer. Once CCL and Ralph are in my roster I will have 4 complete teams.
So I gave in and bought 300 donuts… Which would be best, jasper or crazy cat lady? I know jasper is cheaper, but I’m needing help deciding on the best. Reason why I also like crazy cat lady say over lugash, etc and the alternate skins (Nelson, etc) is that she will be unlocked tomorrow where jasper I could day why didn’t I purchase sooner lol. I have 10 tsp ball players currently. Once ralphie is unlocked I will need one more for a full 12 roster.
It’s a hard choice…honestly I like them both. What does the community think?
How long are both their quests? That may help decide how quickly I can start earning amatuer bucks

Dagnabbit! Both the Murderhorn and Granpa looked like they could be very cool but they seem to be a bit lackluster and to expensive for what they do. Here I am *finally* with a stash of donuts just itching to be spent and there isn’t much of anything that grabs my fancy. Darn you Murderhorn and Toreador Granpa, why did you have to price yourselves out of my interest. 🙁
EA stupidity at it’s finest. At 85 donuts and 8 days left, and a team of 12, it makes no sense in purchasing the skin. It should be 35 donuts at most, especially if you purchased the nelson or Bart skins. I plunked down money for the paddling guy, so no thanks.
Next goal for the community prizes just dropped to 12.917.280.. Just under a million balls to go!!

Tatum isn’t premium. He was won back during the whacking day event. I think he was the last prize. I got Torreador grandpa over glamorous godfrey just for the fact he plays tap ball. 85 for a skin isn’t the end of the world. Just remember this: Shadow knight bart skin was 200 donuts.
He’s still premium…as he’s in the store as a premium character and earns at a premium rate.
What’s up with the community prize goal it’s unreachable . It isn’t worth buying balls at all or collecting them and throwing back because nobody will win the prizes .

This is a total pass for me. 85 donuts for a skin on an event that ends in a few days? No thank you. I jumped on Football Nelson within the first couple days, but this just doesn’t seem worth it when there is, as mentioned, premium payout for stonecutter grandpa. If this was offered during act 1 I probably would have jumped on it, but this late in the game…
