Should I Spend Donuts On the Gold Stadium Set and Tennis Machine?

Hey Howdy Hey Tappers!

It’s getting sporty in Springfield!  With the 2015 Tap Ball Event loads of new sports related decorations and buildings have been introduced in our stores.  During Act 3 of the event we have the option of purchasing two decorations for our donuts.  Now I know you may be trying to decide if any of these items are worth YOUR donuts, but don’t sweat it!  We’re here to tell you what’s worth the donuts and what you might want to hold off on.

Wondering if you should add the Gold Stadium Set or the Tennis Machine to YOUR Springfield?  Well before you hit that confirm button let’s break down the pros and cons of adding these sport themed items to YOUR Springfield!

Decoration: Gold Stadium Set
Donut Price: 50 Donuts
What Does it Do?: Alternate skin for your Tap Ball Stadium.  It does not give you another Stadium, it simply gives you an alternative look for your existing one.
If you purchase it it will change the appearance of everything related to the stadium (bleachers, lights, the field etc).   You can toggle back and forth between the Gold option and the regular option (also the Clay option if you purchased it) via the Stadium entrance (just tap on it like you would a house to put the Christmas lights on)

My opinion on decorations has always been, if you like it get it.  If you don’t pass.  So I won’t be doing Pros and Cons on this.

Final Thought:
This one, for me, isn’t worth it from a practical stand point.  It’s expensive for just a facade change to my stadium.  It offers no bonus, not additional payouts and is really just for the look of it.  In my mind, and my town, this is a pass.  Plus, personally I like the look of the Clay Stadium Set over the Gold…

The Gold Stadium Set will be around until the event ends.

Decoration: Tennis Machine
Donut Price: 30 Donuts
Size:
2×2
Bonus %:
0.50% on all cash and XP
Conform-O-Meter:
Vanity +200
Unique:
No, buy as many as you’d like
Does it Do Anything: Just a decoration, but it does have animation when tapped.  When tapped a tennis ball will shoot out of it.

My opinion on decorations has always been, if you like it get it.  If you don’t pass.  So I won’t be doing Pros and Cons on this.

Final Thought
From a practical standpoint…this one is a pass.  The bonus % isn’t nearly as high as it should be for something that cost 30 donuts.  It offers weak animation, no additional character tasks…so really, on a practical side, this is a pass.

The Tennis Machine Leaves Our Game on July 21st

And that wraps up the two Act3 premium decorations in our stores.

What are your thoughts on the premium items?  Any you’ve purchased?  Where have you placed them in your Springfield?  Sound off in the comments below, you know we love hearing from you!

  1. I’m on the fence about the tennis ball machine. It sounds kind of lame but still makes me laugh. Put it next to the tennis court.

  2. I had to go all-in with the gold finish and triple bleachers. I’m quite happy with the result 🙂

    • Where can I find those door like entrance? I tried to search for it on every post, it’s not in my store or crafting options. Is it just for the clay and gold set? Trying to set up my field before it’s too late to craft what I needed. Thanks!

      • In case you haven’t gotten the answer yet… It’s the back of the triple bleachers. Just keep rotating them. 🙂

        • Thanks so much for the reply! I was totally wondering and thought it’s just for the premium skins. 😂

    • Haha! Trump Stadium. I probably just ruined it for you. 🙂

  3. Sometimes things aren’t “worth it”, but help you personalize the game. I will be buying the tennis court (after much debate), even though I know it’s not the best investment, because I’m an avid tennis player. I really want the ball machine too, but will skip on that because it’s just not enough bonus compared to other items available. Not going to buy either, but the clay facade is by far the nicest!!

  4. is there anyway to choose which parts of the stadium set turn gold? I wouldn’t mind the set is you could make just the stadium gold and the other stuff like the Homertron and bleachers not turn gold or vice versa

  5. One of my friends created an all gold tap ball stadium and it looks really nice. I was jealous. I could tell he spent a lot on it. I’m not going to put that much money into my stadium though. At least not yet.

I bought the golf machine for a couple reasons. (1) I had already bought the tennis court and thought the machine would go good with it. (2) Because I know a lot of people are going to pass on it. I like to buy the stuff I think most people are going to pass on because it will make my Springfield more unique. I want to have items that are going to be considered rare.

I bought the presidential estate and very glad I did because so far I haven’t seen anybody else with it.

  6. Gold….. Ok Burnsie

  7. That gold set is just hideous. The clay one was a lot nicer.

  8. If you have a large Mr. Burns complex then this would go great in front of the money mountain. I would spend in game currency on it, but I’m not spending donuts on it.

  9. Level 55. Wooooooo

  10. my names jeff

Wish there was a gold court for real life tennis

  11. Am I the only one ditching the Tap Ball field and using the tennis court as the center piece to my clay facade stadium?

    I’m calling it Wimbledumb.

  12. Hey! I’m really new to reading these posts. I have looked back a bit and might go back and read some dialog I missed while playing, but I don’t intend to read the whole site. I was wondering if you had a point of reference for what’s the best and worst of the “should I buy it?”‘s (skins and/or characters [not sure how they are categorized], bldgs, and decor). I ask mostly because it seems you think most people (free and pay) shouldn’t waste the donuts on items more often than not. So, if I know what’s the best and worst thing that’s ever happened in the game I can judge more thoroughly if something really is worth it.

    Thanks!!!

  13. After homerclesse is unlocked i will get the clay facade just as a congratulation for another good event.

I just had skinner pop up telling his mother that he wants to get in shape but it ended there. Do you know what thats about? I know level 55 is here but it doesn’t involve skinny boy pumping up.

    Thanks for your help.

The tennis court for 50 donuts is a pass for everyone.

but it looks great behind the wolfcastle mansion. All my other mansions have something… pool, a montain of god, a garden, etc.

so, I spent 50 donuts for it

I’m with you, the Clay facade is better. I bought that one. I wasn’t sure if I’d get the Gold one, figured I wouldn’t, but I made my choice up when I saw it in a friend’s down. It’s just TOO gold for me.

And the Tennis Machine is a pass, too. I kinda like it, and would have purchased it if it were cheaper and/or had a better multiplier.

    Thanks for the info.

  16. I think I’ve only made 2 premium purchases during this event: Furious D and a Canadian flag. Other than that it’s all quite lackluster which is actually a good thing. I hate passing up on premiums I want just because I don’t have the donuts for them. Really looking forward to unlocking the Homer statue and REALLY looking forward to the Gridiron though!!! Happy tappin ⚽️🏀🏈⚾️🎾🏉🏇

  17. Is this even a question people are asking!?! Cause it’s an obvious no! All this garbage will sit in the inventory forever after this event

    • Honestly…some people just want to know what it’s all about to make sure they’re not missing something. That’s all.

    • Actually, many players will find a perfect fit for some of these prizes in their Springfield.

    • A friend showed me the town of one of HIS friends. That person has a five story “solid gold” arena built with lots of add ons and the gold facade.

I’ve seen the gold facade and the ball machine in more than a few of my friends towns as well.

So there are definitely some people who didn’t even wait for a “should I buy it” post.
