Where Did THAT Come From – Springfield Arms

Hey hey tap ballers! In our silly lil game, we sometimes see things pop in that we have no clue as to their Origin. They seem familiar, but we just can’t pinpoint from where. So that is why we decided to make a fun lil reminder out of it. To let you know just Where did THAT Come From?

Wahoo! EA finally listened to me and brought in Comic Book Guy’s apartment complex! Way back in January 2014, I expressed my wish for this beauty (and several other items that showed up in the game) and now it’s a reality via the Tap Ball Event community prizes. But where can we see the fat sarcastic Star Trek fan’s humble abode?  When and where did it appear in the Best. Show. Ever.? Let’s check out the show to find out.

So it took over a decade of Seasons to finally learn CBG lived somewhere besides the basement of the Android’s Dungeon. Is it any surprise that the first appearance is in an episode titled “Worst Episode Ever” (S12:E11)? Bart and Milhouse get banned from CBG’s comic book store after they keep him from cheaply buying Martin Prince’s Star Wars collectibles (Chewbacca is Luke’s father… gasp). In fairness, he bans a lot of other people later during the exclusive Tom Savini appearance but has a heart attack in the process.

Bart and Milhouse save CBG’s life by calling 911. Hibbert tells him to close down the Widowmaker but he doesn’t want to lose all his business to Frodo’s of Shelbyville. The boys end up taking over the store a la Bizarro World. At least Poochie makes an appearance even it it is to mark down his stuff.

Meanwhile CBG finds it hard to make friends… so much that he learns the Klingon word for loneliness. He does share enmity and insults with Agnes Skinner and date her for a little though. Kinda gross but it is why Agnes has a 2 hour task to cross the street with CBG. It used to be to go on a date but then Excelsior… CBG got Kumiko.

Milhouse and Bart discover CBG’s secret stash in the Dungeon full of different versions of movies, informant tapes, Mr. Roger’s drunk. They hold a special screening of the pirated tapes and are busted by Police Chief Wiggum. They arrest CBG at his home for possession of illegal videotapes.

Of course, you could always watch “Helter Shelter” (S14:E5) to see it again. Milhouse tested cootie positive and Homer is injured at work. His payoff is skybox tickets for hockey. Lisa gets a hockey stick at the game and brings home Russian nowoodnicks (termites) courtesy of a hockey stick she’s given by one of the players. Weird that the hockey team is also called the Isotopes. “Our crap shack’s going to hell.”

So the infestation has to be killed off by super strong poison and our favorite family can’t be in the house for 6 months. Every hotel room in town is booked so they ask their “friends” for help. Lenny’s shares a common wall with a racquetball court so he’s out. CBG offersto board them too but his nerd antics prove too much for the family. WHo doesn’t chair meetings of the Galactic U.N. in their house? Jeesh… the Simpsons are sooooooo fancy lol.

The rest is our favorite family (CBG even affirms them as this) finding a place via reality TV and is pretty funny but that’s a post for another day. What do you think of our new community prize? Been jonesing for this as long as me? CBG finally has a place to lay his head and store all is swag in TSTO which makes me happy. I wonder what Kumiko thinks of it? Sound off below and hopefully we all earn this beauty. Until next time, stay classy and all that jazz.

TTFN… Wookiee out!

  1. Any body answer question about old quest.? I just noticed that I haven’t seen my Springfield arms building in a very long time any reason for it to disappear…?

  2. I <3 both episodes , Comic Book Guy is a great parody of what you will witness @ any Comic Xon , and yes, this Building is awesome (can we send Comic Book Guy to his Apartment as a task someday?) 😉

  3. So they changed the number on the building? That seems odd.

  4. Best Write-Up Ever! (About Springfield arms).

I remember exited the first interior shot of his bedroom. I vaugely remember it know but there was a Jar-Jar joke (don’t remember if it was visual or him talking in his sleep) all I remember it was funny and I wanted to soak it all in.

  5. Thanks Chewie! You wrote with such passion!

I love the look of this building so much. I actually had to look it up on the Simpsons Wiki because I didn’t remember it – a rare thing for me!

  7. What other items ideas did you suggest that got put into tsto?

  8. I’m pretty sure that Lenny’s doesn’t share a wall with a racquetball court, but instead with a Jai Alai court called a fronton.

  9. Kumiko just keeps appearing in dialogue… they need to add her back in as a premium character already. I started playing just a few days too late to pick her up.
