Where Did THAT Come From – The Gridiron

Hey hey tap ballers! In our silly lil game, we sometimes see things pop in that we have no clue as to their Origin. They seem familiar, but we just can’t pinpoint from where. So that is why we decided to make a fun lil reminder out of it. To let you know just Where did THAT Come From?

So with the Tap Ball Event, all sorts of new stuff has appeared in our games. Act II brought us the return of Community Prizes too. The last prize if we manage to throw 538,040,000 balls is The Gridiron, a Place to Get Blitzed.  But what does a strange shaped sports bar have to do with Best. Show. Ever.? When and where did it actually appear? Only way to find out is to blitz our way right into the Simpsons TV Series.

Judge Me Tender” (S21:E23)

At the Annual Springfield Ugly Dog Contest, Moe can’t get no respect. Noone will let him have a seat until he makes fun of Krusty’s horrible judging. The crowd loves Moe’s sarcastic commentary on the ugly dogs. They love him for his bile (he’s got a spleen full) and want him to judge them all.

Moe ends up getting gigs judging all sorts of things… crazy beards, classic cars, bonsai trees, bullies, surgery… he’s a natural. His ability to be mean, funny and not British land him a job in the big time… judging American Idol. He’s off to Los Angeles to pursue his dreams.

The aftermath of Moe’s success is Homer having a lot of time around the house courtesy of Moe;s being closed. Marge can’t handle Homer being underfoot all the time so she drops him off at another bar downtown… a sports bar with a punny slogan (A Place to Get Blitzed)… The Gridiron.

And that’s it my friends. A bar for die-hard sports fan where Homer doesn’t fit in that’s right across from a gay bar named P.F. Wang’s. Just a quick blip that’s now the final community prize in the Tap Ball Event. What do you think of the prize? Sound off in the comments and here’s hoping we all earn it.

TTFN… Wookiee out!

  1. I think whoever is in charge of the programming for our local CW affiliate plays this game. They played this episode yesterday (when this article was posted). No matter what season they are currently stuck playing, if there is an in-game event, they will play that episode at some point during that same week. I find this extremely interesting because when syndication is purchased, I just assumed they did it by seasons, and not “whatever you want from the previous 25 seasons.”

  2. The Gridiron = another Bar for your Springfield (you earned it, so enjoy that extra $ and XP) 🙂

  3. I love this building. Worth the wait. Thanks TSTO!

  4. I guess this was written before they reduced the target, as it was only 25 million balls we needed to chuck (I think), not half a billion of them.

  5. Because of the animation of the men chasing eachother I thought it would be neat placing it by the Steel Mill and now knowing it was across the street from P.F.Wang’s (which I want now) it makes more sense.

I’m looking at the picture of the building and notice it looks like a player laying face down and a referee (not the men chasing each other we see in our tapped out game).

    • Same here, wish they’d introduce P. F. Wang’s into the game, if it hasn’t been at some point already and needs re-release like most things it seems lol.

    • the animation in the show is the same we have in the game, and then a fan runs on the field and the referees taser him and he falls down flat in the image shown above. They just left out the end of the animation in the game, probably too complicated
