Springfield Heights Edition: Should I Spend Donuts on the Incubator Think Tank?

Hey Howdy Hey Tappers!

The Springfield Heights expansion has hit Springfield!  And of course you know an all new expansion means all new premium items!  Now I know you may be trying to decide if the Springfield Heights items are worth YOUR donuts, but don’t sweat it!  We’re here to tell you what’s worth the donuts and what you might want to hold off on.

Wondering if you should add the Incubator Think Tank to YOUR Springfield?  Well before you hit that confirm button let’s break down the pros and cons of adding this unique building to YOUR Springfield!

incubatorthinktank_menu

Building/Decoration: Incubator Think Tank
Donut Price: 100 donuts
Earns: $500,45xp/24hrs
Real Estate Points: 1.5 Million ico_heights_realestate_lg when purchased
Conform-O-Meter: Consumerism +10
Size: 9×9
Unique: Yes
Can Be Placed: Grass/Pavement/Beach
Level Requirement: Must be at Level 30 and have started Springfield Heights
Limited-Time: Leaves the store July 28th

Pros:
-Earns a ton of Real Estate Points when purchased
-One of the rare items from Springfield Heights to earn money/xp
-Boosts Consumerism, one of the hardest areas to max out

Cons:
-No questline associated with it
-No animation associated with it
-No character tasks there
-Pricey for what it is/what it does

Final Thought:
Premium:
I’m kinda meh about this one.  Even though it earns income, in my mind it’s basically a decoration.  It just sits there.  Sure it earns a ton of Real Estate points, but you can earn the same for free from any of the upgradeable buildings.  Heck just buy 8 Deluxe Condos for Furniture and you’ll have more Real Estate points, and no donuts spent.
Of course that being said..if you’re a premium player and you like it, you’ve got the donuts to spend.  You’ve got to go for what you like.  But there’s very little practical side to this one.

Freemium:
Stay away from it.  Stay far, far away.  I know it’s tempting because it’s shiny and it’s new, but when those donuts are hard to come by…this just isn’t the kind of item you want to drop them on.  Complete freemium pass in my mind.

Of course in the end it’s your decision, we can only tell you what we would/wouldn’t do…and I can tell you I won’t be getting this one.    Just remember this IS limited-time and will leave the stores on July 28th.  So if you’re thinking about getting it, or are on the fence, make sure you make up your mind before July 28th when it’s gone!

  1. This reminded me of a ship on the more recent Battlestar Galactica, and I like the idea of a think tank like this, so I bought it. The novelty will wear off eventually, I know, but I like it for now.

  2. Does this offer any bonus percentages? I noticed mine is a little higher (2% I believe) and this is the only thing I bought recently.

  3. EA sure is trying to get Tappers to spend Donuts (on limited items that are not worth an ‘impulse buy’ in my opinion), while Springfield Heights has been a fun Zone (for me) 😉

  4. i would buy it, except without my donuts i am not purchasing any more.

would be nice if they extended the time in the store on these for this of us who have been robbed by the donut thieves.

  5. I’m disappointed that it has no animation, but I may get it anyway. It reminds of the “Apple Mothership” (their new headquarters campus) under construction now. Come on EA, the time is ripe to re-release the Mapple Store now! Just do it!

I like the way it looked, bought it.

  7. The update is forced now

  8. I know this isn’t quite on topic, but a comment here made me wonder about something that I think I’ve been seeing in lots of SH-related comments… I don’t have Frink (I find the character annoying for the same reasons I always found Jerry Lewis annoying) – is that going to seriously hobble me in doing the SH stuff? Do I need to spend some precious sprinklies to get him?

    • Nope won’t hold you back. You’ll still have a chance to earn 5 Smart Devices without him (with him it’s 7)

Totally agree, he’s one of the only characters on the show I hate, it’s just the same joke recycled over and over every time he’s on screen, “he’s really smart and talks funny”. Definitely never going to purchase him either.

  9. Totally got it. It’s a very lovely building. Besides, there aren’t many circular ones

  10. Probably not the best use of donuts, but I bought it because I love the look of it. I nestled it up against Radioactive Man’s Beach House (one of my fave buildings in the game) so it looks like it’s just an extension of the house. Matches the design of that building so well and makes the beach house look even more opulent.

  11. I had to buy it. It reminds me of HBO’s Silicon Valley. I’m going to put it on a remote part of my beach (now that I know I can do that!!!) so they can think while watching the sea.

It is SOOOO cool looking that I am really tempted! But it is pricey and I may have to just visit it in my Neighbourinos’ yards. 🙂

  13. Big thanks as this website has been very helpful and I check in with every event so far cuz you are all so reliable!!!
Quick question, was the tap ball dirt field and stadium fences added into the game, some time after tap ball was over and updated but removed before the Springfield heights update?
I keep finding conflicting info online stating that the dirt field was available after updating from tap ball but has since been removed!?!?!? And that stadium fences were added to the fences inventory but I cannot find any evidence of this anywhere???

    • Nope…the dirt field was never added (other sites tend to post what they see in the files, we post what’s actually in the game). The fences were part of the craftable items in the Amateur Shop

EA has made this decision for me.
I lost over 25 donuts two days ago, but that wasn’t enough for EA. So, today my donut balance is zero.
FIFTY lashes with a wet noodle to the programing group at EA.
Or instead of that, maybe a twenty-five donut mea culpa….

  15. Looks nice, I’m still stuck on Tap Ball, considering the issues everyone else is having looks like I’m better for it. Thank goodness Amazon seems to be slow in updates.

If it was 50 I would seriously consider it. I like “brainy” buildings.

Question if anyone knows can I put Springfield buildings/decorations in Springfield Heights? I think Mr. Wolfcastle should be moving on up.

    Thanks

  16. My donut wallet thanks you Alissa.

  17. Have been patiently waiting for this post as I couldn’t see that was much point to the Think Tank – good to know I was correct. It looks a little interesting but not enough to justify the donuts

  18. you can earn like 500,000,000 real estate just by buying all modern and classic mansions and upgrade it to the max.

Than upgrade all other buildings aswell and you most likely have enough for billionaires haven.

  19. Well, this one I like. It fits well in my new Science and Technology Park with Frink’s lab, The SHeights Inst Tech, rocket car, business centre etc.

  20. Thank you 🙂 I was pretty sure it was downright useless, but thought I’d double check.
