So…here is your Open Thread. Tap Ball is officially over and Springfield Heights has arrived in town! What were your thoughts on Tap Ball? Initial take on Springfield Heights? Sunday Night Baseball tonight features the Tigers at the Red Sox, will you be watching? And finally it’s another hot steamy day here on the East Cost, and I’ll be once again spending the day lounging by the pool trying to keep cool (and keep my sanity), with my whole family! Might be a repeat question but do items in Krustyland count towards the overall number of items that you have? Just had my 1st warning (4500 items) but I’ve turned two thirds of Krustyland into forest (had the land & nothing to build on it) so can always sell loads of trees (or does deforestation in Krustyland contribute to global warming…?). If not I will have stop adding decorations – or at least slow down a little…

I’m still obsessed with SH because I really want the Ziff Mansion & Billionaire Haven (currently REV at 303 million) but working on getting some balance back by visiting neighbours & collecting rent 😄

Umm my TSTO just updated for the third time today, this time it seemed to add Fireworks Candy & Puppies store to the shop. Naturally I scooped it up the second I noticed, but then saw on the SIB page that it was a store that wasn’t going anywhere anytime soon (at the time that blog was made) Did I buy too quickly? I thought it was a limited time sale…
I think it’s a permanent addition.
Just my luck, here I thought it was one of those limited time grab it now or you may not see it for a few months sales. Oh well I planned on getting it at some point anyway. Looks good next to the Fiesta restaurant, which I have both near a platform for my fireworks and the barge I got on July 1st.

I just checked my town and after 3 days, half of it hasn’t been tapped on. I guess others aren’t visiting either. I will visit those who visited me.
So, since the latest update, I have a floating map and hammer over LA Body Works even though there are no mats to claim. I have deleted and reinstalled TSTO but it is still there. Anybody else seeing this?

Sorry if this has been asked, but I am stuck on the yoga mats. How can I upgrade that building? I want to unlock the pharmaceuticals bldg but need more yoga mats, yet I am maxed out at 12. Help please! Or direct me to to right blog post. Thanks!

Gil is back with yet another deal! Homer’s icecream truck, and yet another costume for Homer. Got Homer stuck on a task so can’t tell if there is a quest yet, but the truck has sound and is animated!

I have to give a thumbs up here where credit is due. I have requested EA phone support lately 5 or 6 times. From the time I push the send button they call in less then 120 seconds. That is astonishing when I think there must be a zillion people calling all at the same time because they all want their donuts back. They have returned donuts to my game immediately 3 out of 4 times. I have to give EA a standing ovation for that! Considering EA won the Golden Poo award 2 years in a row and then Andrew Wilson said he did not want to go for 3… Andrew Wilson, if this is your work… Bravo!
What did you say to them to get them to tell you more than, “Wait for the next update”?
The new update 4.16.2 (weird iteration…) supposedly has no significant changes, maybe hardward related.
I saw that a new permission was added: Photo/Media storage (whatever it’s called). I don’t think the game otherwise uses that, so I was thinking that this might be used for screenshotting the town. That’s my hope.
I think the functionality might be activated with a future patch because I couldn’t find any option available to me.
This is probably the patch everyone has been waiting for….

Hey, hope its okay to post this here as I’m not sure where else to ask.
I had some issues with my town and wanted to do a refurb for a while now, so I decided to nuke it. I know that this could cause problems and items can vanish etc. but I wanted to do it anyway.
So everything turned out fine, i think i still have all the items (i’ve got alot of stuff so cant be 100% sure) but for some reason the mountain range between springfield heigts and the normal town was stored in my inventory as well. The items are stored without picture but when i click to add them to the map they show up fine. However, I’ve tried to position them in their original place and its really hard. I cannot move them with my finger but have to move the screen so that the mountain vanishes to the side and that pushes it around the map. The only one that cannot be moved and has to be in the exact same position is the entrance/tunnel to springfield heights.
Has anyone else had the same issue, is there something i can do? I was thinking of simply leaving the mountains but i don’t know if that would cause any issues later?

That’s a pretty cool discovery. I guess that’s the only way to store the mountains. And you say that the entrance is a separate item? Cool.
Has anybody else noticed that with both the Tap Ball event and with Springfield Heights we’re spending time and resources building structures that take up a lot of space but offer no revenue when they’re finished? I enjoy my Tap Ball Stadium, but it’s just a decoration and it takes up a lot of room. With the Superhero event and the Clash of Clones event we built large structures that now generate income. Is this a change of direction from EA? Or will Springfield Heights eventually generate income like Squidport and Krustyland?
At the moment no, but I hope in a future update, earning task times are increased slightly and buildings can also earn SH currency so friends can tap them! Even small 1 or 2 furnitures etc would be ok, or 1-4 hr tasks for maybe 10 currencies would make the expansion a little better
As for the Tap Ball Stadium, it’s ok as a reminder of the event! But surprising considering even the Radioactive Man Statue earns currency!
What is the best strategy? I feel quite behind, but everything is connected, earning is connected to real estate value, and upgrading is the way to increase REV, but then you can’t upgrade buildings cos you need higher storage which requires you to unlock character tasks with REV!!
Start small…with Condos. It’ll unlock for you.
I look forward to seeing other people’s Classic and Modern Mansions because design wise I feel like I’m struggling there. (So far have level 5 of each) placed the mansions right on the beach because of the room available.
A bit frustrating that I like the other level 4 buildings looks more than the level 5 looks. I hope EA will eventually let use change it as a skin like the Radioactive Man Monument. Also would like that option on Money Mountain also.
Feeling frusterated with that myself. Mainly due to some of the extra pieces that go with the houses only rotate 2 ways instead of the 4 ways others seem to rotate, and having them fit on a wall that doesn’t seem out of place, like you can still see a bit of a window or whatnot.
OMG – this neighbor visits notification thing I’ve been having is getting even weirder…I just got a notification that sandrashill just visited my town. I apparently just visited MY OWN FREAKIN’ TOWN while I was away!!
Sounds like a haunted game. 😉 I’ve heard others mention they have had unknown neighbors visit but I’ve never heard anyone say they visited themselves!
Me too!!! I got two notifications from my own town and like 5 from my B town!? When I hadn’t visited yet.
There is always the possability that your future self Time traveled back in time to visit your town… Wait, you can’t visit your town, your right.. Ok.. Future You made a B game and visited your past A game so that now you will have some extra FP ? …hmm, yeah, probably just a glitch.
I have noticed that your name has been popping up a lot on my notifications. Unless you visit me ten + times a day…. Then something’s up.

Seriously though, it is possible that you might see me twice I one day, since I often use my “one tap” method of visiting neighbors to help avoid too much timeslip. Other than that, though, I swear that I’m not visiting you multiple times a day, because I really do have a life (well, okay, maybe not, but I do have yoga mats, pills, coffee, and smartphones to make!).

I’ve been trying to be a naturalist, keeping all the flowers and trees that came in S.Heights where they were BUT I just won S.Lake and that thing is HUGE – it is like TWO duff beer trucks :p
So I gave in and moved some of the flowers and bushes. :/
I had toyed with that idea, but the thought of trying to plan a town around the plants made me scrap it.
I’ve been watching every series of The Simpsons with my brother, I accidentally went to the bonus features on the third disc of season 16, and I found an episode from season 23! I had never seen that before, I’ll look for more, I don’t think they will show in the UK for a few years so I thought that that was a great thing to find! I noticed that Jenda was in the episode, and another one on that disc. I hope there are more bonus things like that on other series.
Actually, looking at the numbers, it will probably be shown in the next year or two. It’s a bit of a weird episode, but I’m still glad I found it. I like it when they include bonus episodes on DVDs but normally they just seem to be from another show by the same creators, but it is one that is released at the same time. This is a few years ahead of the DVDs.

Yes, but what’s changed is that they’re now instructing ALL of their reps to refund donuts, so folks shouldn’t have to deal with multiple attempts and/or escalations and stuff. And they won’t be told to “wait for a patch” anymore.
I just finished my daily neighbor visits and lost 20 donuts doing it. I thought this was fixed. Also, (different but related) I have all 10 of SH buildings that are allowed stacked up on the new strips of land that opened in Springfield. It was suggested last week not to store them as they may be lost. I have not seen an update since then. Has this been corrected yet? I am leary of storing them.
I called EA and they said they will keep my ticket open for 7 days. If I do not see my 20 donuts returned by then to call back… This game can make me feel like a 12 year old at times calling a big company saying, “I want my donuts back”, and at the same time feeling like a responsible adult watching my bank statements every month for fraud…
