Be persistent and stay on top of them for it. LOADS of readers have had their donuts refunded to them by contacting EA. If they didn’t succeed the first time they tried again. I know it sucks having your donuts missing, but they can be restored/refunded. You just have to contact EA. Please don’t complain in the comments about missing donuts if you haven’t even tried to get them back from EA. Gil arrived back in Springfield yesterday afternoon, and brought us all a little summer treat! Cause nothing says summer like ice cream and the ice cream man, right?
So the Gil Deal this time around consists of the Ice Cream Truck and Ice Cream Man Homer costume. For 120 donuts both could be yours!
And I know many of your are wondering if this deal is worth your donuts…especially with that clock ticking down. But before you hit that confirm spend button let’s break down all the pros and cons of adding this sweet treat combo to your Springfield….

Premium:
I’m a fan of this one. It offers a nice bonus %, comes with a costume (even though Homer already has a ton) AND unlocks a permanent premium 30 minute task for the youngsters of Springfield. It hits all the marks on the “checklist” of premium items. As a premium player this is one I think is worth picking up.
Freemium:
For freemium players, this one is kind of a toss up. Yes, it hits all the “checklist” items for premium buys…BUT it doesn’t come with a character. Instead it comes with a skin, for Homer. I would say if you don’t currently have a premium skin for Homer this might be one worth picking up for you, but if you already have a bunch you may want to think a bit on this. Honestly it’s a toss up. Not a bad buy, but it’s one of those you can take or leave.
Of course in the end we can’t tell you what to do, we can only tell you what we would/wouldn’t do. And I can tell you as a premium player this is one I’ll be picking up. However, whatever you decide just remember this IS limited-time and will be leaving our games on August 5th. So make sure you make your final decision before the clock runs out!

How do i get the ice cream truck on the road i did as you said and tryed to build one under it but that wont work
Unfortunately, they fixed the “bug” that allowed one to do this….if you already had the ice cream truck on the road (as I do), it stayed there, but, if you didn’t already have it in the road, or if you moved your truck that was on the road, you’re out of luck in terms of being able to place, or replace, it in the road. I know that I’m never going to move mine!!
Got it out of the yearbook mystery box today, even though I missed out on this since I didn’t start playing until August 2015.

Thanks for the reminder about my missing donuts. I contacted the a second time tonight, and my missing 20 were refunded.
I bought 300 donuts, was planning on buying this and Sherri and Terri, but at the last minute went with Akira and the French Waiter instead of the truck. *sigh*. Maybe EA will rerelease it later.
Grrrr! Bought the ice cream truck but did not get my skin,not in storage …tried loving out. EA here I come.
You have to do the first part of the questline in order to unlock the skin. There’s a popup that appears saying, do the questline to unlock Ice Cream Man Homer skin
LOL never got the pop up, probably fast finger thru by accident identified. but I must say I was concerned with contacting EA as I never had to before and lots of less than favorable comments to be found but the gentleman I spoke with was awesome. He explained that made sure it was ready for me when quest completed. And as always you guys are the best.
Can I please get an opinion on Ice Cream Truck or Plastic Surgery Center? I have enough for one but not both. Also, I don’t have any premium skins for Homer. Thank You!
You’ve got to decide for yourself…we write the should I buys to help you see the pros and cons. But when it comes down to actually getting an item, we can’t tell you what to do. So above is the should i buy on ice cream homer and here’s the should i buy on the plastic surgery center

Between those two I think the choice is easy…ice cream truck! The building had no tasks associated with it and no animations (IIRC). Plus, depending on how long you’ve been playing, you might already have a plastic surgery type building – the Stomach Staple Center.
Of course that’s just how I feel about it…I find that the best way to make decisions like these is to think about which one will make you feel happier and make your gameplay more enjoyable in the long run. If neither one of those items really excited you, then I’d suggest you get neither and save your donuts for something that will. 🙂
My youngsters are ask getting tummy aches, because I keep sending them to get ice cream!
I caved last night and got it. I find that I’m drawn to the “happy” items (like watching Lisa do her balance beam routine – I bought that, too, when it was offered recently) and what’s happier than ice cream? But the real clincher was the 30-minute task for all of the youngsters…I love items that add more task-length choices for my characters, to help me maximize productivity in whatever time-frame I have to fill. If I could get a 1-hour task for Smithers and Barbarian Homer/Homer Barbian that didn’t require using other characters, I’d love that! Been eyeing Shorty’s just to give Mrs. Lovely a 1-hour task, but, I mean, how many coffee shops can one town have?!? 2-hour tasks for more characters would be great, too. Oh, and Mindy and #1 need 4-hour tasks.
The truck and costume are nice, but I’ll pass. As pointed out in the SIB, there are already a ton of skins for Homer and I have two premium skins among all these. Also I am mostly using 12hrs and 24hrs tasks and the skin doesn’t have an outside animation for these, so that made my decision clear.
