Level 56 hit our devices last week and with it arrived a fun blast from Simpson’s past….Springfield Gorge and Daredevil Bart! Now I know you may be trying to decide if this is worth YOUR donuts, but don’t sweat it! We’re here to tell you what’s worth the donuts and what you might want to hold off on.
Wondering if you should add Springfield Gorge to YOUR Springfield? Well before you hit that confirm button let’s break down the pros and cons of adding this daring combo to YOUR Springfield!
Building/Decoration: Springfield Gorge
Character/Costume: Daredevil Bart
Donut Price: 250 donuts
Bonus %: 5% bonus on all cash and XP
Conform-O-Meter: Vanity +1,000
Size: 16×25
Level Requirement: Must be at Level 56, unless offered Early Access when the update first hit. (If you’re not at Level 56 and received Early Access, don’t worry this WILL return to your store once you hit Level 56. So don’t panic about buying it)
Pros:
-Comes with a quest line
-Premium costume for Bart, which earns 50% more on all cash and xp than a freemium character
-Nice bonus % offered (although not the best in the game)
-Unlocks a GREAT task for Homer at the Gorge once the questline is done.
Cons:
-EXPENSIVE
-Only 1 outdoor task for Daredevil Bart
-The Gorge is MASSIVE in size…

Premium Take:
This is one of those…it’s crazy expensive but premium players have to have it…items. Almost everything goes wrong with this item (it’s crazy expensive, no new character, it’s massive..) BUT it’s a classic Simpson’s item AND unlocks a sweet visual task for Homer from said episode. It’s really hard to resist. Premium players this is one I say pickup provided you have the space and the donuts. HOWEVER….I would wait a bit to get it and see what else may hit our games in the coming days. This item isn’t going anywhere, as it’s part of the Level 56 update, so there’s no rush to grab it.
Freemium Take:
Freemium players this is one you may want to take a pass on. I know it’s a classic item, but it’s insanely expensive. And when donuts are hard to come by, there are much better combos you can pick up for much less than this combo. So as a premium player, I’d pass on this one.
Of course in the end it’s your decision, we can only tell you what we would/wouldn’t do…and I can tell you I will be purchasing this at some point, but it’ll probably be a little while before it hits my Springfield. However, this is NOT a Limited-Time Item so take your time with your thought process. The Gorge will still be there in a few weeks. So if you’re on the fence or worried about saving up your donuts relax..there’s no rush to get it.

Wow, i got the gorge for 30 donuts in the Prom random box with 700 items in it. I also got Femme Fatale and Xochitla (sp?). I have to say, I really cleaned up! Lots of eye candy in my Springfield now!
I’ve just completed Homer’s jump the gorge task twice, and have to say I’m disappointed. Is he supposed to actually come down the hill on the skateboard? My Homer just disappears off the back of the gorge and reappears at the bottom. Where’s the “hilarious” animation? Am I missing something?

They’re both massive. I can tell you I have the Springfield Sign and not the Gorge (at least not at this time, maybe when they add the desert stuff I’ll add the Gorge). I find it easier to use the Springfield sign than the Gorge

I really want this even though I’ve become very conservative with spending real money in the last several months. I haven’t watched the show in years so the old characters/stories are always the ones I want. Disappointing there’s so few outdoor tasks. I’ll probably get this eventually but it’ll hurt.
2 things
1) there is a bunch of new land that can’t be accessed ‘north’ of Springfield heights, I’d expect to see that come as part of another grind fest (monorail?). Also I’d bet the current mountains between SH and Springfield get destroyed somehow, there is a new set farther up.
2) I wish I could direct my characters to certain places and have them loiter, more like an RTS game. Probably never happen but would allow for interesting setups/dioramas.
I agree with the character thing… Don’t know why we can’t move stationary outdoor characters around in move mode like we can with buildings and decorations…
I got this right away. I couldn’t help it lol. But now it’s off to the far side of my town and I have to scroll way over to see it. For 250 donuts I want to see that thing smack dab before anything else! I keep wanting to rearrange and I still have not finished the overhaul of my entire town yet. I think I need a sick day lol.
Oh man…. I really want this, classic episode, but so expensive…… Waiting for a Gil deal with a rebate for now…..

The Gorge is HUGE, but if you’ve got the Space in your Springfield ? If you got the Donuts? Go for it! (can’t say no to Daredevil Bart – right?) 🙂
Homers task should pay out at a premium rate but doesn’t. Is this a possible oversight that will get corrected?
Up to EA. It wouldn’t be the first time it didn’t.
How do I unlock level 56???? Please help.
You need to make sure you have your XP Level up to 56 and your Game Play Level up to 56 ie you completed the walkthroughs for all the prior levels… 52, 53, 54, & 55. You can’t jump a Level, so you have to complete each one to move forward. Use our Walkthrough guides to help you see where you are, what tasks you have open that need completions, and what characters you need to have free to start the quests.

I had been hoping they would add the Gorge and I’m not disappointed. I admit, I do wish we could rotate it 360, because it isn’t facing the right way for my town, but I’ll work around it.

I am just saying wait and see what happens. You never know with EA. I could end up just being a costume and nothing more. It could be a full blown event. I could be a million things. 😉
Disappointing that Daredevil Bart only has one outside task but this is still on my long-term list. I’ve got to have it but there’ll be some redesigning before I do (moving all mansions into Springfield Heights will free up a lot of space)
I love it! I don’t regret it either. I had to move some things around so I could fit it into my Springfield, but I made it work.
Do you hear Homer Multi-“D’oh!” Or at least “D’oh!” When tapped?

Hello, I have a question for those whom already bought placed and used the S.Gorge,
When not in use and tapped is there a sound effect? Also at any point in use do you hear Homer “D’oh!”??

Nevermind. Just tapped on a neighbors gorge. Eagle shriek and tumbleweed. ….I was just hoping to hear Homer falling down and yelling D’oh multiple times :/
So…its a premium skin for bart but he doesn’t have a task with it? That seems very strange. I just got a boatload and am waiting patiently (sort of) for the monorail.
Nope, no task there…happens sometimes. BUT Homer has a bonus task there, so personally that makes of for it lol
Got it as soon as it was offered, definitely don’t regret the purchase, although I was up in the air between the Gorge and Uncle Herb who I still don’t have. The Gorge won for the time being. It is huge, but Homer’s animation is hilarious so makes it all worthwhile, and looks cool as an item imo.
