Hey hey friends! In our silly lil game, we sometimes see things pop in that we have no clue as to their Origin. They seem familiar, but we just can’t pinpoint from where. So that is why we decided to make a fun lil reminder out of it. To let you know just Where did THAT Come From?
Woo to the hoo! A new Friendship Prize came with Level 56! With the addition of this building, the 17th prize to date, some of you may be wondering just where in the Best. Show. Ever. a gun shop that’s not Herman’s appeared. Does it have anything to do with the linen retailer whose name it satires? Let’s take look at the TV series to find out.
“The Cartridge Family” (S9:E5)
The Simpsons are off to a soccer match at the Springfield Stadium (which used to be an internment camp). The boredom of the game between Mexico and Portugal leads to a riot that escalates into “a citywide orgy of destruction.” Mayor Quimby declares mob rule and it’s every family for themselves. Our favorite family contemplates protecting their home with bulletproof lucite but can’t afford the cost so Homer decides to get a gun instead. Homer is none too thrilled with the 5 day waiting period at the Bloodbath & Beyond Gun Shop.
Homer waits the 5 days, contemplates shooting a bunch of things including some of Bunny’s friends but finally gets his piece.
And that’s it. Our new friendship prize in an episode all about guns in Springfield. Nothing else to say about it since I know this topic is incendiary. I do think these two guns from the episode were kinda neat.

My favorite part of the 5 day wait montage is them using Tom Petty as the soundtrack.
This is a great episode! Classic in my eyes. It’s sad people view this fundamental right as incendiary and can’t just enjoy the classic comedy of this episode and this TSTO building.
One of my favorite episodes. I am very pro 2nd amendment. I could get pissed off at all the cliche anti gun stuff in this episode. I have a sense of humor though. “Silencer, Loudener”. “Ooh!! But I’m angry now.” This episode comes off as jab at the anti gun stereotypes to me.
It’s sad that a fundamental right that protects us is a “incendiary topic”. Hilarious episode, should have saved it for when they introduce Sarcastic guy to the game.
Incendiary things are things that catch fire or go boom. I think that it can be construed as a pun.
D’oh, it is yet another place Raphael works but he still isn’t in the game. Not even gun-toting Maggie. Shoot, shoot, shoot… (Bad choice of words) I meant Darn, Darn, Darn.
I have a closer connection to Linens’N’Things but that’s a story for another WDICF …maybe we should change WDICF to WTF (Where’s That From?) – maybe 😀
Omg he is the best Simpsons character ever! I love the sarcasm and I always know a super funny line is coming when I see him on the show! We need him and McClure and hunts ASAP

HA! Someday I’ll understand English well enough so I can read and understand Shakespeare (at least partially). I have tried to read it before from the Internet; gave up almost immediately. But from what I’ve seen in movies and documentaries, his work is just fascinating. I wish I lived in England so I could see a Shakespearean play (maybe with Alan Rickman? 😉 )

Vanessa, I live in England , seen one Shakespearean play – The Merchant of Venice a long time ago , you’re not alone , made my head ache trying to decipher the language which is a real pity . The language is the magic of the plays but it can mask what are often funny , tragic or moral tales which in modern language stand up to todays standards . You can get books which have the original text alongside a modern version of the text which can give you an understanding of the story but to experience it in its full glory , I guess you have to bite the bullet and read it in it’s qriginal form . I am trying to do that , taking a long time though , not trying to read too much at once . As b3earclaw says though , gotta love some of the Shakesperean insults , especially when you read it and only get it’s meaning sometime later .Such as ” I do desire we may be better strangers” from the play AsYou Like It which I only realised after a couple of minutes meant ” Go away and stay away ” What a great way to say F*** off , I love it !
