Should I Spend Donuts On the Mapple Store?

Hey Howdy Hey Tappers!

Who would have thought that the most requested event (Monorail) would bring back the most requested building (the Mapple Store)?  Now I know you may be trying to decide if this is worth YOUR donuts, but don’t sweat it!  We’re here to tell you what’s worth the donuts and what you might want to hold off on.

Wondering if you should add the Mapple Store to your Springfield? Well now that Act 3 is in full effect let’s take a look at the pros and cons of adding this limited-time returning store to your Springfield.

Building: Mapple Store
Donut Price:
90 Donuts
Earns:
$300, 30xp/12hrs
Conform-O-Meter Impact: Consumerism +10
Size: 5×5

The Mapple Store Leaves Stores on September 10th…

Pros:
-Returning item from TSTO Past (Christmas 2012) that if you missed you can now pickup
-Earns a decent amount of income
-Adds a 5hr job for Homer, Lisa & Ned to “Browse the Mapple Store” (which earns $200, 50xp)

Cons:
-Was previously free when initially released during Christmas 2012
-Expensive for what it is/what it does
-Not exactly a “high design” building.  It’s a pretty simplistic square

Final Thought:
Premium or Freemium:
Here’s the deal with the Mapple Store….because it was originally released back in 2012 (the very first TSTO Christmas) and has never made a comeback in the game, it’s one of those highly coveted buildings.  Many Tappers have wanted (and requested it) for years.  So if you’re one of those Tappers who has wanted it and coveted it for so long…get it.  Because you don’t know when/if it will be making a comeback.
However, from a practical standpoint…it’s one of those “eh” buildings.  It does add a task for 3 characters (which is nice) and earns a decent amount, but I do think the donut price is way to high for this one.  It would have been better if it was priced in the 60-70 donut range..but I’m not surprised at it’s high cost considering how many players have been wanting it.

Of course in the end it’s your decision, we can only tell you what we would/wouldn’t do, and personally (if I didn’t already own it (for free)) this is probably something I’d pass on.  But it’s really hard to know for sure since I’ve had it for so long.  I’m sure if I saw it in neighbor’s towns for 2 years I’d probably want it too… However, this IS a limited-time item.  So if you’re thinking about getting it make sure you make your final decision before it leaves our games (September 10th)

What are your thoughts on the Mapple Store?  Did you make the purchase?  Is it something you already own from Christmas 2012?  Where have you placed it in your Springfield?  (mine’s in my “tech” district with Ziff Corp and the Superior Squad HQ)  Sound off in the comments below, you know we love hearing from you!

  1. I’m so glad I got this back in 2012! I love my Mapple Store; didn’t even realise it was a rare building!

  2. I’m in the UK and I haven’t even got the option to buy it 🙁

  3. I always wanted the Maple Store,
I think Tappers should’ve gotten a chance to earn it vs buying it with Donuts (but if you got the Donuts? Then you ought to buy this!) 😉

  4. I’ve never had it and never will. I hate apple products, I’m anti mac anyway, I would never get this whether it costed donuts or not. For all you mac lovers out there sure you may like it a lot. Well, you can keep it!

    • I personally prefer PC over Mac, but it sounds like you may have had a particularly traumatic experience with ones in the past! 😉

  5. Seen it in a bunch of neighbor towns and always liked it, but the price is too expensive for what it does. Too bad, I just created an exclusive shopping avenue with highrisers leading up to a monorail station – it would fit in there perfectly. Resisting…. >_<

  6. This breaks all of my rules for spending my hard earned freemium donuts, but I bought it anyway. I’ve coveted it for years in other people’s games, and having locked tasks for characters annoys me. So, I bought it and so far not regretting ti!
