A few new premium items hit our stores this morning…because it wouldn’t be a new week in the Monorail Event without new premiums! 😉
So just what hit? Let’s take a look at the premium goodies in our stores today…
All of the new premiums will leave our stores when the event ends on September 15th…
Monorail Cafe- 60 Donuts. Earns $75, 7xp/ 3hrs. 6×6 in size. Can go on Squidport.
Self-Reliant House- 35 Donuts. Earns $200, 20xp/12hrs. 6×9 in size.
Returning
I Choo-Choo Choose You Train- 50 Donuts. Earns a 2.25% bonus on all cash and xp. Returning from Valentine’s Day Events…

And before you event ask (although some of you already did)…Yes, we will have a Should I Buy up for both new items. But they JUST hit this morning…so give me a little time to evaluate. They’re here until the 15th..there’s not immediate rush to get either (especially since they won’t help with the event). A Should I Buy will be up soon 🙂

So once you get the rail yard, you stop cashing in for bells and whistles (it’s back to blueprints – the first currency from Act I). So the prospect of getting ANY of the bonus track pieces seems completely unlikely as I have earned over 5K in blue prints and 5 bells and whistles (thanks to neighbors) since the rail yard went up. Grr.
I Choo-Choo Choose You Train (one of the lamest prizes from a prior Valentines Quest you earned for free!) is being sold for 50 Donuts? Wow! EA is not impressing me this weekend!
I got the self-reliant house and am pleased with it. I especially like the windows and the floating mail box. It sort of jumps a little in the air, like it’s about to float away 🙂
I like the self reliant house and for the price I will likely get it. The monorail cafe is neat but for the price I’m not thrilled by it. I didn’t even see the Choo Choo’s in my town but I have enough hidden from that Valentine’s event in the past and none are visible.
I got the monorail cafe, as I like the look of the building itself, even as a standalone building without the Monorail… I dont know if i’ll keep the monorail once the Event ends, so the cafe appealed to me due to it’s design and it’s unreliance on the Monorail for it to still look good.
Tossing up about whether to buy the Self Reliant House too. 35 donuts is pretty good for a building!
So your going to get rid of all the rails.
Will just store them in my inventory I think and then decide what I’m gonna do, not sure if I want to keep the monorail as a permanent object in my town…with Springfield Heights coming into the game with the split of the mountain and the buildings that are there aren’t relevant to the show and I don’t like having so many buildings etc that don’t have relevance to the show. That’s just me tho, I know some people are happy for the game to not look like the show 🙂
I bought the self realiant house. I thought it was a good deal for only 35 doughnuts.

I’d like to have a little down time to redesign my town. It’s been a mess since Springfield heights hit.
I’ll wait for the SIB post but trying to save my donuts for Halloween! I absolutely can not wait for that event! Last year was my first TSTO event & I was so unbelievably excited because I saw the cool stuff from the previous year. Was a tad disappointed when it was aliens. Aliens didn’t really seem very “halloween” to me. This year I’m hoping for zombies, ghosts, witches, or all of the above!
I am the same as you. I started tsto last halloween and have been looking forward to this year’s halloween event soooo bad. I have looked at all the past halloween events with jealousy. Lol I really want a cemetery or Indian burial ground. Aliens aren’t that much halloween sounding to me either. I do love how the trees loose their leaves and blow around the screen. Yay!!
I started at the tail end of last years halloween event. I saw so many items that looked awesome but i started to late. Have used this site to stay on top of each event. Due to a lack of internet i missed the event that took place in july. Was really bummed about that.

Debating about the Café.
The train deco is a definite no; it’s kinda creepy looking to me…
TSTO’s: you don’t think they’ll do another event between MR and Halloween, right?
I think they’ll be another level update, or a Gil deal next week at some point. And then an episode tie-in the following week to tie-in with the season premiere on the 27th. And then I think we’ll see Halloween the first week of October…
But that’s just my thought process 😉

Hope we get trick-or-treating again this year; I got every friggin’ kid that hit the store this year. In preparation.

pricey but love the solar panel house. That’s brilliant. And would go great in the “heights” part of town.
Ahh! Creepy, nightmare face train is back… gunna have to pass on that one. I’ve got enough of them from valentines past squirreled around my town. The house and dinner look pretty cool though.

I got the Monorail café straight away, I like the look of it and remember it from the episode, it’s my very own piece of North Haverbrook right here in Springfield,

OT, but my crashing after every neighbour visit has now morphed into freezing constantly in my town, so that I have to close the game and re-enter (only for it to happen again almost immediately). The game is now completely unplayable for me. I restarted my ipad mini, deleted and re-installed, to no avail. I have a ticket in with EA for a rep to call me. Just thought I’d share in case others are experiencing the same thing. I know a few were, just not sure how widespread. I don’t really use the forums but it anyone starts a thread and posts the link, I will contribute an entry.
I had those issues early on the Monorail event. The best suggestion is to disconnect the tracks from the monorail stations but you can still have tracks placed and laid out in your Springfield. Also, when visiting neighbors only go to Krustyland. Hope this helps!

I get the same issue too.
Nothing has helped.
As I read about all these freezes that are going on, I think the game has reached a point whereby the device is not able to catch up with the game load. I also experiences freezes but the frequency is acceptable for me to continue to play. My android phone is about 1 year and three months old. Probably it is more equipped to handle the game.
I had that issue when i placed the mail-o -rail, and had 2 trains running. once i connected all 3 stations, and had only 1 train, it was much better, It hardly freezes anymore
I thought that it might be due to multiple rails running.
I have 4 of them…each on a seperate track.
I will combine them tonight and see if that fixes it.

I got both but it’s shame theres no story associated with them.
I got both of them also. Love the look of both of them. Always needing something else to take up what little space I have on the usable space XD

I’ve been out of space for the past year. :p I’m a premium player with almost every item in-game. The level 57 helped a little, I still have a couple of spaces to get, but they are already filled with pretty much the Monorail update.
I’m really debating on whether or not I want to buy the fast food station. I sorta have a spot I could make for it, but it would look very different compared to the other stations with the pieces.
Both buildings seem reasonably priced, and I always love another unique house for my town. I’ll probably pick them up, but I’ll wait until the SIB post first. 🙂
I’ll probably pass on the decoration, though. I don’t really care for it.
I got both the Monorail Cafe and the Self Reliant House since I liked the look of them and they both seemed to be reasonably priced premium items unlike a lot of the recent offerings.
